Both inosuke and Aoi are short tempered people and they are both wearing a mask.. Inosuke was wearing the boar mask while aoi was quote on quote wearing that angry/pissed off mask.. Their similarities are really interesting and their relationship although it's all over the place it is really wholesome
I really like Aoi as a character, she has a strong personality but she knows herself enough to admit how weak she is. Gotouge could have easily make her a tsundere, but she's totally not. Good character writing all along. I hope to see Gotouge's new work soon!

Don't know if you saw but in physical copy of manga there is a scene in the end where we see Inosuke give Aoi some kind of self made gift from cone and plants thought it was really nice
in the Japanese manga, she never uses words that aren’t “polite” or “formal”. i definitely think her character got lost in the translation. as a Japanese manga reader, i love Aoi as an outspoken but polite mom-type girl who can’t express her feelings well. one of the few times she doesn’t use these “formal” languages is when Tanjiro wakes up from fighting in the entertainment district and she comes running in tears. here we saw her genuinely expressing her emotions that she forgets to use her “polite” language.
Aoi is the mom friend who looks after the party even if she's a bit stern. Inosuke didn't really have his mom and was raised by a boar, then an old man and his son. So he didn't have a lot of motherly affection in his life. So aoi might have been that motherly attention that inosuke didn't know he needed, and eventually became attached to her as time went on. Well and her cooking probably was one of his favourites
That's true dnsbbs i kept noticing that inosuke puts importance when it comes to giving/receiving any kind of food even when it's just scraps or mushroom. It's most likely due to having lived in the forest like an animal for so long, but in the wild food is not something that comes easily, you have to hunt it whether youre eating for yourself or sharing it with other animals. Inosuke being given food by someone he feels cares for him seems to matter to him a lot, and he does the same for people be cares for (in his train dream he imagines giving inosuke mushrooms and he gives aoi mushrooms too at the end of the manga)
Finally!! Inosuke is my favourite demon slayer character. His resilience and ability to adapt always did it for me. So seeing this video makes me smile, discussing the relationship between an unruly character and a grounded one is nice.
It’s ironic that their descendant ended up being so quiet but really smart to the point of being part of modern science and still wants to return to the mountains

There is also the bit after the train where the sword smith was eating takoyaki and when Inosuke exclaims that he wants some Aoi specifically states she will buy him some later. She is shown in small scenes like that taking extra care of his wants in particular even if they are childish in nature.
This is exactly what I'm thinking. I mean maybe Inosuke didn't know this feeling yet since he's too young lol but during that scene the smile from Aoi when she said " hai hai I'll buy you some later" was so pure and adorable and that clearly proved she' cares about Inosuke a lot.

I really love how they animate inosuke while fight. I think he has the coolest moves than any of the character in the anime beacuse he is so flexible and move like a gymnest. His moves should be animated well and slo mo more. love him fighting
These cute relationship actually started at the ending of the manga where Aoi gave Inosuke a plate of food instead of him taking it secretly that made Inosuke feel happy since he felt that Aoi is taking care of him, its not exactly love but I'm pretty sure that is where it started and probably Inosuke start to take care of Aoi too, who knows
I always love ships that dont tend to be in the spotlight like the main or most obvious pairings. One thing I personally like about ships is when the moments shown dont have to include blushing but just moments that as plain as they may seem,still have an impact on the character(s). I actually appreciate that the DS ships shown developed differently especially since the characters personalities and experiences are different from eachother. I just enjoy his character and Aoi is a great character imo. She may not be a fighter like the others but she still does her thing especially in helping others,she doesnt just help then heal,she sticks to making sure they make it through recovery and has provided support in their training and making sure to keep things moving foward with a firm attitude. I enjoy them as a pairing, yes they werent a highlighted couple but to me they do make sense. They arent overdone and I dont feel the need to breakdown their characters to actually make sense out of the pairing. They just seem good to me

i still feel like it was forced/rushed. imo i believe the author just paired him up with her bc he was the only one in the trio without a love interest. they barely interacted and there were no signs in the manga that even suggested they’d become a couple (excluding the food scene since that was at the end). at least with kanao x tanjiro and nezuko x zenitsu, it was obvious they’d get together since one person had feelings for the other. i respect the ship and people who ship it, but i personally don’t think the chemistry is there.
Well yeah, but I think it somewhat makes sense. For one, romance wasn't really the point of Kimetsu no Yaiba. Plus Inosuke isn't even that romantic of a guy (or emotional in general) so it makes sense that unlike Zenitsu or Tanjiro he wouldn't really show feelings. But yeah, I think a few more scenes would've been cool. I think Aoi got very little screen time in general.

And yeah i agree, but i think its pretty clear that he didn’t have feelings for aoi at all until the end. There’s no way he would of had feelings for her earlier on when they only interacted twice (with both moments holding no sort of meaning to them since they were brief)
One thing that I like that a few people seem to miss about Aoi's introduction is that Kano is clearly distressed, so Aoi is very quick to take the attention off of her friend and solve the problem. It does a lot to show that she's loud and despite being "cowardly" she does what she can to help others.
I love the dynamic between the female characters and the males .... Especially the parallel between Netzuko and Zenitsu. They are their best when they are sleep. Or Unconscious rather. Tanjiro falls for the girl who can closely relate to his demeanor. The level of Balance as a theme in this show is pretty cool. Especially when they fought Daki and her brother ( cant spell his name correctly )

Inosuke reminds me of Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z, with his pride and eagerness to fight. Aoi reminds me of Bulma, smart, caring, and not taking crap. Any anime fan knows how Vegeta and Bulma hit it so well (they did have 2 kids) so it doesn't surprise me that this feral child is smitten by a nurse who doesn't take his crap but remembers to make extra food so he doesn't steal others. Inosuke is gonna put on about 500 pounds by the time Aoi is done with him.

As much as we would love their relationship to be further develop, along with the storylines, the author had to work under difficult circumstances towards the end of the series. Even though the manga did well, Gotouge Koyoharu encountered a lot of struggles (financial and family problems) which was further weigh down by being a female mangaka. I'm sure the author did want to explore the story more since it had sooo much potential but I think that the final outcome is the best the author can give the supporters. I hope this cleared something out because I know most of us feel sad or even disappointed by the abrupt ending. Just keep in mind that if only the author had a better working circumstances, we will have something more amazing and more fleshed out than the finale we had. edit: pronouns
Before the author released the true final chapter, I theorized that Aoba Hashibira was the great-grandson of Inosuke and Aoi. It’s because of his facial appearance and the name “Aoba”. I didn’t expect to be correct when the author released the real final chapter.
Idk if it was mentioned, but there's a part after Aoi gave Haganezuka dangos to calm him down, Inosuke exclaimed that he wanted some too. Aoi just smiles and said very well and that she'd buy some for him later. I liked that part and showed a little part of her showing feelings for him.
I thought for a good minute that if Zenitsu didn’t get with Nezuko it would be Aoi. She wouldn’t tolerate his freak outs, probably whip him into shape, stop him from making dumb decisions and ultimately making him a better stronger man. Likewise his bravery would show if she was ever in danger. She’d be his stern but loving wife😂
I understand the subtle things that lead them to being together but nah this relationship still felt too random there’s no real build up of them getting to know each other or anything they just gradually took interest in each other

One thing that I like that a few people seem to miss about Aoi's introduction is that Kano is clearly distressed, so Aoi is very quick to take the attention off of her friend and solve the problem. It does a lot to show that she's loud and despite being "cowardly" she does what she can to help others.

I love the dynamic between the female characters and the males .... Especially the parallel between Netzuko and Zenitsu. They are their best when they are sleep. Or Unconscious rather. Tanjiro falls for the girl who can closely relate to his demeanor. The level of Balance as a theme in this show is pretty cool. Especially when they fought Daki and her brother ( cant spell his name correctly )

Inosuke reminds me of Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z, with his pride and eagerness to fight. Aoi reminds me of Bulma, smart, caring, and not taking crap. Any anime fan knows how Vegeta and Bulma hit it so well (they did have 2 kids) so it doesn't surprise me that this feral child is smitten by a nurse who doesn't take his crap but remembers to make extra food so he doesn't steal others. Inosuke is gonna put on about 500 pounds by the time Aoi is done with him.

The manga was so rushed towards the end. This relationship should've been more fleshed out
I think it was changed ( by adding more panels , scenes ) it was changed and now have a really good ending , no hate btw
As much as we would love their relationship to be further develop, along with the storylines, the author had to work under difficult circumstances towards the end of the series. Even though the manga did well, Gotouge Koyoharu encountered a lot of struggles (financial and family problems) which was further weigh down by being a female mangaka. I'm sure the author did want to explore the story more since it had sooo much potential but I think that the final outcome is the best the author can give the supporters.
I hope this cleared something out because I know most of us feel sad or even disappointed by the abrupt ending. Just keep in mind that if only the author had a better working circumstances, we will have something more amazing and more fleshed out than the finale we had.

Before the author released the true final chapter, I theorized that Aoba Hashibira was the great-grandson of Inosuke and Aoi. It’s because of his facial appearance and the name “Aoba”. I didn’t expect to be correct when the author released the real final chapter.

Idk if it was mentioned, but there's a part after Aoi gave Haganezuka dangos to calm him down, Inosuke exclaimed that he wanted some too. Aoi just smiles and said very well and that she'd buy some for him later. I liked that part and showed a little part of her showing feelings for him.

She wouldn’t tolerate his freak outs, probably whip him into shape, stop him from making dumb decisions and ultimately making him a better stronger man.

I understand the subtle things that lead them to being together but nah this relationship still felt too random there’s no real build up of them getting to know each other or anything they just gradually took interest in each other
