@@volodymyrbilyk555 It was even funnier in extended version of that scene that was in one version of screenplay, where Engineer spends good while admonishing mankind for being brutal, violent, corrupt, immoral and power hungry, getting pissed to the point of heavily breathing... and then David told him Weyland wants immortality! 🤣
@AdamMichalMarkowski good that was cut out ,because if he was in stasis for 2k years, humans weren't doing much that long ago. Makes no sense why they would be pissed at us.

Agree. They weren't amazing movies but I was invested and wanted to see how it ultimately connected to Alien.

@@Cyborg_AutoIt did? The end of Prometheus showed David heading off in a space ship to meet the Engineers. They arrive at one of their planets, which I doubt was their homeworld but even if it was, he kills them and plays mad scientist with their tech but ran out of subjects. By the end of the Covenant he has an entire ship full of colonists to continue his experiments. I want to see what he did with them.
@@nubiancaynes2128This is a planet hopping species. Surely that planet in Covenant isn't their homeworld but one of many colonized planets. If it's their homeworld, then there's still no genocide since they still have to exist on some of those numerous star systems shown in the Prometheus derelict ships navigation hologram.

The tech in Prometheus never bother me, because i equated to comparing a tow boat to an luxurious yacht. I know people got bother by this, but i mean we see this in the real world. Alien-> truckers in space Aliens -> Military Alien 3 low tech prison..... Prometheus -> high tech privately owned state of the art vessel

@@benderbendingrodriguez420 yea the different class system is realistic and very likely in the future if space travel ever became a thing . The only issue I have is the lore being messed up around the xenomorph.
i work in a company who has control panels with buttons that look like they are Star Trek from 1966. Then on a different wall a touch screen with high tech software. Yeah it's very normal to see the wealthiest mans space yacht have tech the space oil riggers don't.

Having lost all of my family by the time I was 22 (I'm 47 now), I know that only time can heal. It may seem others have went on, possibly appearing to "forget".....it's not true. Most of the time, it's simply because they don't know what else to say when a simple hand on the shoulder or arm can say so much.........
I don't know you on a personal one to one level buy I can tell what type of many you are.....there's no doubting that! His son is in great hands as he will have you. I would have loved to have you as my uncle Alien Theory!

Imho, all the pre-release promotional material for Prometheus qualifies as the BEST such promotion/content of its kind. Not ONLY did it hugely pique interest, but - through its large, well-produced volume of that effective content - it unilaterally contributed ALOT of (pre!) story telling... the TED talk; Shaw's video submission; the Synthetic program; etc.
To me, it set a new standard, or at least a new bar to reach, for that whole kind of endeavor.

I love all the extended materials in different mediums, that accompany (or precede, in the form of preexisting material - books, comics, etc.) the movies. And I appreciate channels like AT that presented in a way that's serious and grounded in reality enough, that I feel like I'm watching some secret military log and I really, enjoy it.

Man, just watched your video on your Friend Mike and about your Sis, and nephew. I knew something was up when you didn't cover Romulus. Man, I am so, so sorry that you are going through this pain. And, you are also having to be strong for your nephew. I am a Dad myself. It is hard man. But hugely rewarding. Take it a day at a time. Sadly, there are no words to help during this time, as you are heartbroken. You have built a strong community here, mad respect. I really enjoy the lore of this larger story and how you cover it on your channel. This was such an eerie video to watch as a retrospective of the Prometheus crew. While it wasn’t a perfect film in the franchise I did enjoy the film and cast of Prometheus. It’s a shame that this crew didn’t get further exploration beyond this film. It had some really great potential and an amazing cast featured in this film.
I mean we can speculate that if Shaw didn’t interrupt, we could’ve had a different outcome, but to me and how the engineer reacted, it would’ve been the same. If anything, her interrupting made the engineer wait longer. But other than that, he would’ve killed everyone anyways. Especially when he and those who were with him at his time, already decided to wipe out humanity. If anything, by how the group treated Shaw, it only made him angry. So really, by them injuring Shaw, the group sealed their fates.
She got the answer she wanted just not in the way she wanted 😂

@treborkroy5280 The difference is that we know all about crocodiles and what they're capable of and also not capable of just like any other animals he interacted with. This was an unknown species and he had no idea what it's capabilities were or what it's defense mechanisms were, for all he knew it could be able to spit acid at him or have fast reflexes. He was extremely reckless because he had absolutely no idea what he was dealing with and you don't have to be a genius to know you shouldn't get that close to a creature that you have no idea what it is or what it can do.

First off i wanna say thank you so much for all the hard work you have and hopefully will continue to do on the channel. I'm not kidding when i say that part of my routine at night is making a small playlist of 3 or4 videos that I'll watch before i go to sleep. I've been a lifelong fan of The Alien & Predator Franchises. Huge amount of thanks goes to my mom for that. Hands down my favorite content on the channel is your "Accounts Of The Earth War". I had those comics when i was a kid. And I'll go ahead & throw it out there. i got em not too terribly long after they were released. Hearing your retelling/narration is fantastic and a delightful walk down memory lane. It makes me think if those videos were around back then. My little 8/9yr old self would just be in absolute xenomorph heaven. So thank you again.
But other thing thats on my mind and i feel it's even more important in grand scheme of it all. I just saw/watched your video about Mike. I don't know you or him in any way, shape or form but I'm truly heartbroken for not only you but for his wife and son. I unfortunately went through a very similar situation a few years back.. Sadly, that pain & loss hasn't (nor will it ever) fully subsided. I know that words from a complete and total stranger via the comment section isn't gonna make everything better. Not really. It's a horror movie. No one "deserves" better. She died a horror movies death.
David is the prequel trilogy's parallel to Ripley. She is the savior, and he is the destroyer. The female leads are red herrings. Nobody was going to survive the prequel trilogy, not the humans, not the engineers - only David.

Hey, Theory, I just now found this upload. Feels very good to know you're still amongst us. I can't imagine how hard it's been recovering from such a devastating loss.
I’m still convinced the ship on lv-426 is way older than the ones on lv-223. The one on lv-426 was fleshy and had bone. While the ones on lv-223 were metal. Plus the entrance to the ship in Prometheus doesn’t look as inappropriate as the entrance to the derelict in alien. I look at the derelict as something similar to the cylon base stars in the battlestar galactica sy-fy channel series
I think the one on 426 looks living, almost like the lexx. Engineers copying the space jockey
The fan base goes with the theory, The space jockeys made the engineers, and there was a revolt, we as humans called the Space Jockeys the Annunnaki, and the Engineers were the Igiggi, the slave race along with others and there was a "war in heaven".
Even in Aliens: The Dark Descent, we are shown the space jockey race. Elephantine snake people. Nagas essentially.

21st century: Biotech, nanotech, fusion and fission, and M-theory -- and that was just the first decade.

How nice would it be if Romulus does well and Ridley taps Fede to finish the Prometheus and Covenant prequel.
Now this is very interesting. According to these documents, many crew members were incompetent for the task so question is why they were being picked. I do wonder however, if technology of building atmosphere processors were taken from this jaggaunats.

What's infinitely interesting to me is how the space jockey/engineer marveled at David. He regarded David like a masterful work of art, then tore him to pieces. He barely even ackowledged Weyland as being there before crushing his head. He knew David was astonishingly special, perhaps even more special than himself. He gazed at him lovingly, even. Almost like he was proud for having been among the originals that lead to the creation of such a perfect being. Alas, he(space jockey) likely swore an oath before accepting his position, to destroy any lifeforms he came across. I mean they carried the xenomorph parasite in bio-weapon form. Of course their main objective was to destroy intelligent life on any planet/moon they traveled to.

Vickers was going to end up CEO of Weyland Corp, not Weyland Yutani. According to most sources, the merger didn't happen until 2099, several years after the Prometheus mission.

Thanks for the video as always. But such a retcon I will never accept. The nostromo crew didn’t “mistake” the space jockey corpse for another species. It WAS another species. Not an engineer. As intended when Alien was made. Based on comments from Giger, O’Bannon etc.
Prometheus' punishment was having to watch this movie every day.

As much as I dislike the film, I think Shaw is a wonderful character! I really wish she starred in Covenant as well! Although I'm sure the film would have been called something else.

This is created like a classified internal company document. Some things are redacted to make it appear like a serious classified document might be.
Elizabeth shaw character deserved so much better then what we got hell the franchise as a whole deserved so much better then what we got in alien covenant but Prometheus was kinda good and the Elizabeth shaw character was good David was a good character too sir Scott should have done so much better then what we all got in 2017 but thankfully it looks like we're going to get a great film in a couple weeks I'm very excited
