Just installed my system using your code to help save. I have 2 ultra’s,new 50amp hub connecting them. Straight into my main breaker running everything. 2 ultra’s together is a game changer

The bad winds and rain just came in.
What's stopping me from going with the DP Ultra is the price of additional batteries. An additional battery is $3299 list, now marked down to $2799. I did buy their $1500 off coupon (cost me $300 for that coupon) which drops the price of the Ultra to $4599 (that includes the $300 I paid for the coupon). I WAS all in on this system until I saw the cost of adding additional batteries. Then... nope! Way to costly to add more reserve capacity. But I do love the design. The stackable batteries and the integrated 240V output is excellent. Like you, I need the 240V for my well. My wife and I have really come to enjoy running water! Love your channel.
FYI, the batteries are rated at 6kWh. This is a pretty good size battery, but to double that will cost another $2799. So, for for me, the cost of the Ultra at $4599 plus a second battery for an additional $2799 just gets too expensive. That comes to $7398 for on Ultra rated at 7.2kW output with 12kWh hour battery reserve.
Hope you fared well after those storms that passed over yesterday. I'm in Ocala, I did not enjoy being under a tornado warning for several hours. All you can do is pray a tornado doesn't come visit...
I understand, but compared to the Delta pros battery (were over $2300 now on sale for $1700) it still seems like a fair deal. Your paying extra for the cooling technology, stackable case and what I just found out, a managed and HEATED battery which allows you to charge and operate down to - 4 degrees. I've decided to sell a few things, including my Delta pro system and ordered two more Ultra batteries. For me the compact stackable design, silence, being able to build to a much larger system and more was too tempting. Not to mention it takes up far less room in my closet than the Delta pros. No doubt your paying a premium for the new design, technology and what's usually known as the most innovative brand in the industry.
We've been traveling, but my parents said the house fared well through the storms. We still need to inspect the property.
@@TKCL Good news for the house after the storm. The property may provide you with more firewood! These tornado warnings said they were moving across the state in excess of 60MPH, didn't make it a relaxing afternoon! But, after a couple power blinks, I DID run circuits off my two DP's, connected thru a 10 circuit Reliance Transfer Switch. (great box!)
I agree on the design and technology, it is excellent. For me, it simply gets too costly when adding an additional battery, which is something I would want to do to gain a longer backup time. All I need is more money. I wonder if I can convince my wife to go back to work... 🤔😮

Why is this posted on the main channel when you have a second review channel?
Because the second review channel is small and I have obligations to finish out on this channel for large product releases. Solar will always be a part of the main channel.

How does that panel work with auto-switching and any down power going back into the grid or am I over or incorrectly thinking it?
No power back to the grid no matter how you CORRECTLY hook it up. You need a smart panel, or a transfer switch or interlock kit to make everything safe.
I have a Generlink transfer switch and it requires generators to have GFCI. I can't find anywhere that the Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra has the GFCI built in. I see that you've connected via a transfer switch. Did it happen to be a Generlink or are you aware of any problems?
Does the DPU have dark start? Meaning if it goes to zero, and the Sun comes out, does it reignite?
Yes, that feature can be turned on in the app. It's called always on.
With the Pro-Tran xfer switch, how did you handle the neutral/ground situation? If you were keeping the unit plugged in and charging. EcoFlow claims the ultra does not have a neutral/ground switch so if you leave it plugged in, it will pass the ground back the panel and you will have a ground loop.
I was not charging whole running, just using solar as it provides a much higher charging rate. The transfer switch comes with instructions for this if I remember correctly.
can you charge with the eco flow dual generator or is there an adapter for that
Good question, I need to ask about that.
Not via dc because the output voltage of the generator is too low. You can ac charge though.
How long would that thing carry the indoor house load you put on it
with one ultra battery and one inverter.

My standard load is 400-600 watts an hour. The battery is 6kWh so we can divide that number into the battery capacity. You must also factor in conversion losses through the inverter. Realistically 8-12 hours depending on the load. Now if I were to cut those loads down in an emergency situation and run the necessities, I could go all night long.

Question I have a ecoflow delta pro ultra. I also have 6 370 watt zshine solar panels 41 volts 11.8 amps short circuit. I will be running in series because parallel would be to many amps for the ecoflow dpu. I have the panels on a ground array about 60 feet away from my house. The question is inside the house NEC says dc current has to be in metal conduit. The question is how do you ground your array and tbe metal conduit inside the house. The ecoflow is not wired into service panel but will be connected through a 30 amp inlet when the power goes out. Since the pv cable will be running 240 volts I know tye Conduit shoukd be grounded in case of a short. Iam wondering how you did it since you have tge dpu.
I used a pv combiner box for my large array. It has a ground lug built in for service. You can install that after the Conduit if desired and terminate it at the box.

It’s press embargo. They didn’t want any videos until their official launch at CES in Las Vegas.

Sounds like another jealous comment to me. Yesterday was the launch day for the product, this is normal.
@@TKCLno sir. Not jealous at all --- if I do a review it will be one of my own and not some biased review I'm given free things to do nor a narrative ecoflow told me to say. I see this theme across all the UA-camrs doing this with the ULTRA /SHP2 today. Do a "BBB" search on ecoflow it will tell you everything you need to know. They are not supporting their products already fielded.

The fact you think someone can't be honest is ridiculous and if so, by all means block them. I bet you watch your favorite football team, sports players, maybe Nascar, your doctor ect. Every single one of them all sponsored by some company, it's how we make a living.
@@TKCL yes, hence the bias. ecoflow is paying you or giving you something in return for a favorable review. It's that simple.
This EcoFlow Ultra environment, while impeccably engineered on the surface, is flawed and not ready for prime time. The hardware installation and set up is simple and somewhat straight forward, but that’s where the full beauty of the design ends. The software and app that are actually responsible for insuring that you have power when the grid goes down do not deliver. The biggest issue is the parasitic draw down on the battery when the system is in idle. There are a number of functions on the app that conflict with one another, making work arounds to reduce battery drain impossible. Some app features don’t work at all. And as mentioned in another post, customer support, while courteous, is basically useless. The jury is still out to see if the software functionality is going to catch up with the hardware. I’m not holding my breath…
I'm listening and paying attention. I also feel responsible for forwarding concerns and responses straight to the company. So far mine has been working well and I don't see much draw, but I also turn off until needed. I'll test the always on and standby draw.
