As for the baseball scene, it's completely possible (though very precise) to throw a ball around the earth. Any slower and the ball won't make it at all, it'll fall to the ground long before it even reaches halfway. 30:08 I'm gonna be the nerd here. At the speed of light, you could travel around the circumference of the Earth almost eight times in a second (speed of light is 186,000 miles per second). The ball was actually likely going somewhere around the ballpark (pun intended) of 2,500 miles per second given the time between the dad's throw and Mark's catch, roughly 74.4 times slower than the speed of light.
Just found you guys cause I wanted to watch this show with someone and I'm amazed by the attention to detail given to the editing. Appreciate that a lot.
It’s fitting that first death reminds you of Glenn, because TWD creator Robert Kirkman made this comic before that one. The Guardians of the Globe didn’t like Omni-Man because he was a standoffish ass, but they still firmly believed him a hero and so were appropriately shocked when he started killing them. As to their deaths, they actually died a few issues into the comic (around #7), but weren’t very prominent while other stuff was happening - Kirkman admits he regrets not killing them off far quicker and so it happens that way in the show, and it has the additional benefit of shocking us and creating lasting tension.
.................... their fight is also much less one-sided, which better matches up with how the What-If rematch in the comics went. I.e. the Guardians absolutely could've beaten him, but only if the element of surprise was both ruined AND they were able to immediately coordinate on bringing him down instead of wasting precious seconds trying process what is going on and what they should do. (in the show, the element of surprise is ruined, but they aren't sure what is happening and aren't coordinating properly till they've suffered important losses). And in the show they come VERY close to how the rematch went despite the lack of Mark being able to warn them what Omniman is trying to do, just that they lose several key members before they managed to restrain him (and WW lost her hammer before Omniman was disabled enough to go to town with it. If she still had the hammer, even MM's 2nd grapple would've been enough for them to win, albeit just barely and with most of the team dead). Aka that change is good because it improves the over-all consistency in the power-scaling for that point in time. And helps prove Omniman's point. Sure they beat (almost beat) ONE elite Viltrumite...but it took all of them to do it, and it only just barely worked. They are simply too weak to ever stand up to the empire on their own even if he joins them, and therefore he has no choice but to kill them, both to calm his doubts about the mission (by burning that bridge) as well as remove the strongest threat on the planet (that he knows about) to hopefully prevent their resistance so his family isn't as likely to be harmed in retribution for resisting subjugation. the other hand, that stuff with the Klaxans was NONSENSE. In the Comic they kicked the shit out of him due to his overconfidence running dick-first into a trap they'd set-up and while he MIGHT have wrecked them after being freed, since the trap wouldn't work a 2nd time due to him expecting it, they immediately sent him back before he could really do anything). And doesn't really make any sense to do it the way they did, since the Klaxan ARE a major villain group later who he very much did NOT wipe out. I put it on almost the same level as Amber changes in terms of decisions that don't make much sense in the context of the greater narrative. If they don't want to reveal that he has any weaknesses, just stop after he says this isn't your world to conquer and cut to him walking in at home with a torn up suit and some blood splotches here and there and don't actually show what happened, maybe with some quip about sorry that took so long, did i miss dinner?. Which implies he wrecked the shit out of them, but still allows for the reveal of what really happened later.
"That has to be faster than the speed of light!" Actually no. It is in fact nowhere even close lol. If you're still curious, the speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. The entire circumference of the earth is only 24,901 miles. So if he were throwing that ball AT the speed of light (let alone faster) The ball would be in mark's glove at almost the same instant it left omni-man's hand. (roughly 1/8 of a second travel time.)
Superman's weaknesses are kryptonite, Red Sun, and magic. And the rock dude you were talking about from the Fantastic 4, his name is Ben Grimm AKA "The Thing".
They spiced up the last fight for the tv show. In the comics he's so much more powerful than the rest of the team he wiped them out in seconds, there wasn't any sort of battle.
Yeah this show has the same animation style as the old 90s-2000s X-Men and Justice League cartoons, which makes the violence so much more unexpected. That was such a dope era for animation and superhero stuff, considering nowadays we're flooded with live action movies.
They’re just clueless enough to feel that’s it’s a spoiler that he’s able to fly despite the father telling him he will fly and him saying he will fly and the show being about him having his fathers powers. At least they weren’t surprised that German sausage comes from Germany 😂😅
the producer is Robert Kirkman, who is the creator of the walking dead, and Steven Yeun is a former actor from that series, he used to be Glenn Rhee and he is now voicing "invincible"
If Dick Grayson is one you guys favorite hero , y’all should watch young justice next . It’s a great tv series taking place in the dc universe about the sidekicks or some call young prodigies of the heroes you know and love . The last season ( S4 ) is the best season .
In the comic it took several issues before it got down to the Guardians of the Globe part of the story. The show slammed the audience with that arc right in the pilot episode and featured them in full superhero team glory in the opening scene of the pilot, which was missing from the comics. Kirkman and his crew did a fantastic job of refining the Invincible comic’s story for the animation all throughout S1 and I very much look forward to the upcoming S2 and S3.
I also felt sick seeing that ending... I knew it was supposed to be mature but I did NOT expect it to be so graphic! Amazing series tho, one of my favorite shows right now
Welcome, to perhaps one of the greatest animated superhero series of all time. I was really surprised, considering it’s been quite a while that the series 1st came out on Amazon, but you guys didn’t know at all about the massive ending tone change. Kudos to you but also quite a surprise. I just couldn’t wait to see your reaction when you realise this really wasn’t like Justice League at all, even if the visual style is similar. Its graphics are also more improved for the backgrounds as well though thanks to the fact it was done by a Korean company rather than a regular American company who just keep putting out the same stuff again and again. If I was to recommend another series to you though, it would have to be Super Crooks.
Mark is voiced by Steven Yeun or Glenn from The Walking Dead Omni-Man is voiced by J.K. Simmons or J. Jonah Jameson from Spiderman Debbie (The mom) is voiced by Sandra Oh from Grays Anatomy Art Rosenbaum (The costume designer) is voiced by Mark Hamill or Luke Skywalker/Joker in the animated series Amber is voiced by Zazie Beets from Deadpool 2 as Domino or Joker (2019) Atom Eve (Who you meet next episode) is played by Gillian Jacobs from Community There is a huge cast list for this show, the Invincible Comics show itself is written by Robert Kirkman who also wrote the comics for The Walking Dead. All the voice actors for The Guardians of the of Globe are also members/characters from the walking dead show. Yeah this show gets wild and I think we all got a little sick during that last scene (for me it was War Womans neck snap). The reason they explained that Red Rush experiences conversations much slower then normal people is because when he got his head squished even though it was only less then a second long in everyone else's perspective, for him it must've felt like excruciating minutes.
28:04 now I want a Canadian equivalent to captain America. A superhero who beats you up with a maple syrup can and then apologizes as he's bringing you in.
i think i read somewhere they did the whole knockoff DC superhero team thing on purpose. the wholesomeness of the first ep is a misdirect and they killed the guardians like that to send a clear message to the audience that this is not a mainstream animated superhero story. this show is also a pretty good warm up for you guys to watch the boys sometime in the future, they're pretty similar.
Red Rush dies in his own point of view, so everyone else is slow motion and can't get there in time. Technically he got his head crushed within a second, but for him it was painfully drawn out since he experiences time differently.
Steven Yeun also voiced Little Cato in Final Space. Which is a great show that, if you haven't already, you should watch. Great show but criminally underrated.
Notice that this show displays the most realistic aspects of superhero work, unlike any other superhero content For example: How the Guardians of the Globe prioritized saving civilians first over beating the Mauler Twins, while other superhero teams just hit the bad guy without consequence. And how they played into each other's strengths in the fight against Omni-man, displaying perfect teamwork. The speedster was the support, saving everyone from his punches. The Martian bound him, while Immortal and War Woman jumped him at the same time, how often do we get reasonable action like that? If the Avengers or Justice League fought like that, they would win many more fights As for the gore, don't worry. It's not a dark or edgy show like The Boys or Deadpool, where it's done for shock or laughs. The violence is only there to showcase the mature and ugly aspect of superhero work that Hollywood and comics tend to hide, never taken lightly. Always used the right way for the plot, where physics and how much damage a body can take actually matter Enjoy!!!
I'm sure your patrons already said this but the creator of this show is ALSO the creator of The Walking Dead series. So yes. It's gonna be SUPER gory lol
Funny thing is the Guardians could have beaten omniman if they had played to their strengths, war woman and immortal front line heavy hitters, red rush moving people to dodge hits, the rest keeping omniman from moving. But they were blindsided and apparently didnt have a contingency on how to deal with the strongest being on the planet
So this first episode is to set the tone. The end of this episode signifies the death of the traditional comic book super hero troupes. This shows you it won't be like the others.
Don’t know if anybody mentioned it but the reason no one saved red rush was because you were experiencing red rush getting his skull crushed in-sync with how he perceives the world. He told his wife the briefest conversation with anyone feels like hours so to the rest of the guardians literally saw him get his skull crushed in two seconds real time but for him it lasted all the way to the pop.
You know how red rush said a brief conversation would feel like hours to him.. imagine how it must have felt when Omni man was trying to pop his head, for everyone else it happened in an instant but for him it must have been a long torture sequence
This keep getting repeated over and over, and I am just amazed at how many people come to this conclusion by ignoring the context. Red rushes death happened in less then a second. We saw his death through his pov. He was punching Omni Man as fast as he could, yet it still looked like slow motion even at his speed. The other Hero's were not even moving because the scene was speed up to Red Rush's perspective. Red Rush's death was thankfully fast even for him. It wasn't hours to him, it felt like only a few seconds.
Invincible is voiced by the guy who played Glen on The Walking Dead! ALSO M........ War Woman is voiced by the chick that played Maggie on The Walking Dead.
30:52 If I did the math right (in my head) they pitched the ball at 6000-10000 miles/second (speed of light is 186,000 miles/sec). In reality if they pitched the ball at that speed it would not orbit the Earth, it would just fly into space (Earth's escape velocity is only 4 miles/sec)
7 miles/second, but yeah. I love geeking out about this. If you throw a ball up at 60 degrees at 50 MPH and it takes 4 seconds to arc back to the ground, you do NOT expect a ball thrown at 100 MPH to hit the ground in half that time. Expecting a ball thrown around the world to orbit faster because you threw it harder is the exact same silly logic. A real orbit around Earth takes 90 minutes or more -- no exceptions. Also, the dude on the left is correct. The ball would turn into plasma in a split second. /aerospace nerd

15:23 "I love doing that" HOLD UP bruh how often do you do that?🤨🤨Better keep my distance...😂
LMAO!! - Dani
Superman's weaknesses are kryptonite, Red Sun, and magic. And the rock dude you were talking about from the Fantastic 4, his name is Ben Grimm AKA "The Thing".
"headbutt"
Violently crushes head 😂
They spiced up the last fight for the tv show. In the comics he's so much more powerful than the rest of the team he wiped them out in seconds, there wasn't any sort of battle.
32:50 you really think that the walls are the thing that's keeping the building standing?
Part of their monthly training.
Good Session today guys, cant wait for the next one :)
Yeah this show has the same animation style as the old 90s-2000s X-Men and Justice League cartoons, which makes the violence so much more unexpected. That was such a dope era for animation and superhero stuff, considering nowadays we're flooded with live action movies.
22:56 "No my dad thrashed me."
No child, not yet...
Y’all reacting to one of my fav shows of all time it’s really amazing
They’re just clueless enough to feel that’s it’s a spoiler that he’s able to fly despite the father telling him he will fly and him saying he will fly and the show being about him having his fathers powers. At least they weren’t surprised that German sausage comes from Germany 😂😅
Superhero costumes are bright colors to make them easier to distinguish in comic books during large action scenes.
the producer is Robert Kirkman, who is the creator of the walking dead, and Steven Yeun is a former actor from that series, he used to be Glenn Rhee and he is now voicing "invincible"
If Dick Grayson is one you guys favorite hero , y’all should watch young justice next . It’s a great tv series taking place in the dc universe about the sidekicks or some call young prodigies of the heroes you know and love . The last season ( S4 ) is the best season .
Thumbs up because I am always up for more people to watch young justice
Indeed, they definitely should
In the comic it took several issues before it got down to the Guardians of the Globe part of the story. The show slammed the audience with that arc right in the pilot episode and featured them in full superhero team glory in the opening scene of the pilot, which was missing from the comics. Kirkman and his crew did a fantastic job of refining the Invincible comic’s story for the animation all throughout S1 and I very much look forward to the upcoming S2 and S3.
lol Parker laughing his ass of at heroes deaths
Mark is voiced by Steven Yeun or Glenn from The Walking Dead
Omni-Man is voiced by J.K. Simmons or J. Jonah Jameson from Spiderman
Debbie (The mom) is voiced by Sandra Oh from Grays Anatomy
Art Rosenbaum (The costume designer) is voiced by Mark Hamill or Luke Skywalker/Joker in the animated series
Amber is voiced by Zazie Beets from Deadpool 2 as Domino or Joker (2019)
Atom Eve (Who you meet next episode) is played by Gillian Jacobs from Community
There is a huge cast list for this show, the Invincible Comics show itself is written by Robert Kirkman who also wrote the comics for The Walking Dead.
A superhero who beats you up with a maple syrup can and then apologizes as he's bringing you in.
he got the glenn treatment is wild as fuck lmao
i think i read somewhere they did the whole knockoff DC superhero team thing on purpose. the wholesomeness of the first ep is a misdirect and they killed the guardians like that to send a clear message to the audience that this is not a mainstream animated superhero story. this show is also a pretty good warm up for you guys to watch the boys sometime in the future, they're pretty similar.
7:25 it's literally that meme of that survivor island show where the girls are in shock and the dude in back just grins.
Red Rush dies in his own point of view, so everyone else is slow motion and can't get there in time. Technically he got his head crushed within a second, but for him it was painfully drawn out since he experiences time differently.
30:10 no not the speed of light. A particle of light can travel around the world 7 times in 1 second. 😂
Steven Yeun also voiced Little Cato in Final Space. Which is a great show that, if you haven't already, you should watch. Great show but criminally underrated.
I love how often they have to tell red sweatshirt to shut the fuck up since she loves talking over all the important parts 😂😂😂😂
Man i always come back to watch the reactions for episode 1 because I really enjoy to see the sudden change in everyone's face lmao
21:49I like how Sam is so worried for him lol that’s an adorable reaction
I will never get tired of watching invincible ep 1 reactions
Red Rush's death was only slow because it was from his perspective.
Notice that this show displays the most realistic aspects of superhero work, unlike any other superhero content
For example: How the Guardians of the Globe prioritized saving civilians first over beating the Mauler Twins, while other superhero teams just hit the bad guy without consequence. And how they played into each other's strengths in the fight against Omni-man, displaying perfect teamwork. The speedster was the support, saving everyone from his punches. The Martian bound him, while Immortal and War Woman jumped him at the same time, how often do we get reasonable action like that? If the Avengers or Justice League fought like that, they would win many more fights
As for the gore, don't worry. It's not a dark or edgy show like The Boys or Deadpool, where it's done for shock or laughs. The violence is only there to showcase the mature and ugly aspect of superhero work that Hollywood and comics tend to hide, never taken lightly. Always used the right way for the plot, where physics and how much damage a body can take actually matter
Enjoy!!!
LETS GOOO!!!Beyond hyped for this is why my best show last year it was so damn good craziest episode 1 I’ve ever seen!!🔥🔥
"I am thankfuö this is animated"
Oh boi do I have a show for you😂
Oh man, buckle up, this show and the comics are craaaazy more intense than first thought
38:29
Her: "What's happening?"
Me: *Starts laughing manically in my head*
“I’m glad this animated because I would literally throw up”
The boys have entered the chat.
I'm sure your patrons already said this but the creator of this show is ALSO the creator of The Walking Dead series. So yes. It's gonna be SUPER gory lol
Oh you're in for a show. This first episode is a perfect representation of how the rest of the show is going to be.
Sam and Dani giggling in the corner.
Omni-Man: “Are you not entertained!?!”
39:08 it's worse to think that that head crush was probably almost instantly done but we just see it in Red Rush time perspective
The way he said "headbut" without even realising whats up next
Let me continuously ask questions and talk over the show that could probably be answered if I just kept watching the show lmao
“Good thing it was animated”
Homelander: 👀
The voice actor for Mark is Steven Yueng or Glenn from The Walking Dead if you guys haven’t known yet.
Welcome to Invincible!! Glad you just started this! Seen this with a lot of other reactors, can't wait to see the rest!!
@@kenbocole1460 yea, this people keep spamming this bs, literally the scene is Red Rush point of view/perception
@@kenbocole1460 atmost it was like 10 seconds. The pov we got showed and it was a second for the rest of the guardians who couldn't reach in time.
/aerospace nerd
the collective iq of the people on the couch is 20
07:26 Everyone: "No..............."
Parker: "Yeah......."
The show has been approved for at least 2 more seasons. While the story and animation is good, I hope they fix the audio balance coming up.
I guess darkwing didn't come back to check on those thugs.
in the comic they never say the name of the town cause they want everyone to be able to relate to the characters, so it can be any city you want.
I remember my first time watching episode one I was in a hurry so when the credits started rolling I closed the prime app not realizing that there was anything after the credits. Episode 2 started with everyone dead and I was like wtffff. It almost made it a mystery show as to who killed the guardians ( even tho Omni man was sus af ) I didn’t realize the ending of episode 1 until like episode 6 🤣🤣🤣
