My father, one of Gods genuine Angels, was an extremely religious, dedicated husband and father, and was conservative to say the least. I became a teenager with a drivers license in 1963. (Age 16). He was a Plymouth fan. No air conditioning, just a radio in the dash. 4 doors, black wall tires and a “push button” automatic transmission located on the window console to the left of the steering wheel. In 1965 he came home with a new Plymouth Satellite. Black on black, bucket seats, spinner hubcaps and a 318 cubic inch motor. TWO door ! Honestly, living in the unbelievable humidity of Charleston, West Virginia during the summer was a challenge. But back then NO ONE even had air conditioning in their homes ! So no big deal. Looking back and recalling trying to sleep at night it just amazes me that we all didn’t melt ! Be thankful for EVERY SINGLE THING you are blessed with ! DO NOT TAKE YOUR GIFT OF LIFE FOR GRANTED 👍❗️🤓 It was the coolest car he had ever purchased ! He exchanged the black wall tires for red line tires. I hyper ventilated and passed out !
Buddy had an all-white '65 383 4-bbl commando Plymouth. It was surprisingly quick for a C-body. It also had chrome reverse rims with pancake hubcaps. Did a lot of cruising Woodward & Telegraph with it. Great memories.
This got me going. I had a 66 Belvedere GTX body style with a 383 4 speed. Awesome car till the motor let got. Replaced with a 1970 340. Sold the car because I was building a house. What a sacrifice!!!!
What a beautiful beast! My aunt had one of these in silver. It was a gorgeous car! She had a Stingray Corvette, dark blue and white top, convertible, and she had her FURY, that was her daily car. I'm not sure why she sold it, but I can remember her telling me, she regretted selling that car the day after she sold it. I think she sold it just before it was 10 years old. My stepmother did the same thing with her 69 Charger, but I don't think she was that attached to it. I'm not sure why everybody traded their cars in around the same time. The only cars on offer were those big clunky BOATS of the 70's! After test driving a Stingray, I understood why she sold that one, but I'd love to have one of these 1965 Furys! At 24k, it's worth every dime! I'm not too fond of newer vehicles, I'd spend 24k on this in a heartbeat before I even looked at a newer car. Well done! This was somebody's baby. You can tell it was loved. Thank you!
