Trust me when I say this man can sing live! He was one of the support acts to Dermot Kennedy in Marley Park in Dublin last week, singing live to 40,000 people, and that man could sing and interact with a crowd no issue whatsoever. Had the pleasure of being one of the 40,000 and David Kushner got a new fan in me that day. Of course, we were all there to see one of our own come home and sing, but David Kushner was amazing!
There’s clips from the Dublin concert on UA-cam. People sang over him or with him. It was hard to really hear him clearly. He just needs to practice more, there’s a lot of inconsistency with his voice and it seems like he prioritize trying to have a deep voice versus just hitting note’s consistently.
@@feyrie agreed. good voice but you can tell he isn’t comfortable singing this song-as you said, seems like he’s too worried about consistently trying to sound slightly deeper than he can naturally reach. imo you don’t always have to have a good technique to sound good but part of good technique is often preserving the voice.
He's also sitting down, slightly hunched over a guitar. It's difficult to sing like that versus standing in front of a microphone.
David can sing..no autotune needed.. he will be more than just Daylight..js 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Wow, I had no idea how much production can add to raw, live performance. To me, it sounds like two different people!

@@wmw1210.the issue is a lot of artists sing while on their phone and they sound consistent.
I agree. I just love the studio version of this song, but the live version is tottaly diferent. Take a look a Sia singing unstopable acapella, it's really incredible. Her voice sounds like a studio version voice

I don't know anything about singing, but to me it sounds like he is straining his voice a lot. Especially in the chorus, just like you said.
And some notes are way to deep for his range I think. He has to put his all together when fading the line out with "guilt". Sounds kinda swallowed.
I think, if he would sing in his vocal range it would be even better.
Yeah honestly, it feels like he is trying hard to maintain a deep voice while singing. Which I think is gimping him.
