    Small details. Only one thread pitch offering for ar15. The 5/8-25 tpi Is for the ar10. Also it does matter which way the crush washer is faced “install the crush washer leading with the smaller, beveled end down towards the buttstock” they recommend loctite 263 or 243 best to refer to JP instructions.

    • @evenorange4103
      @evenorange4103 2 роки тому +2

      The crush washer JP includes with this muzzle device has beveled ends on both sides, so it doesn't matter which way it goes on, unlike a 'normal" crush washer. If you are using a different crush washer from the included JP, then you are 100% correct. If you are really interested watch the "Design Philosophy: Flash Hiders" by JPRifles on youtube, about 12 minutes in and they go into the design of their crush washers and the benefits of using them.

    once I tighten the flash hider, the pin hole is past 6 o'clock, probably around 8. should I keep tightening for another 300 degrees to further crush the washer and get the hole to 6 o'clock? I'm afraid to damage my barrel

    This is a silly question but I’m missing how this adds only 2.25 inches if the threads are half and inch and the oal is 3.125 inches. Just making sure I heard you correctly as I was thinking of putting this on a 13.5 or 13.7 inch barrel and pinning/welding

    • @TheBradass
      @TheBradass Рік тому +3

      Because the threaded area is internal and the overall length is the outer measurement of the device. Once installed on the threads, it only adds 2-1/4". You have to subtract the length of the threads on the barrel and the depth they will reach within' the device from the overall length to get thw actual length it adds. Hopefully that's less confusing. This is a pretty good flash hider btw. I own one and it does a great job in low light of not blinding me.

    Can you do a followup with this flash hider? I am seriously considering one for my 11.5" as the A2 creates a fireball (though is great on a 16"). Thanks.

      @Otium Borealis It tames it too. I specifically searched for night shoots and product reviews with video evidence of it after I bought a 10.5". Gets rid of 98%-99% of the flash altogether. It definitely works.

    • @USDOTATF
      @USDOTATF 3 роки тому

      @@The3OfSwords Interesting. Went to my local shop and they said after everything I'd still have ~half an inch. "16.5" 13.7 + 2.5 (YES, it is 3.1 but after threading it is 2.5 internal) = 16.2 but plus the crush washers etc it came to 16.5.
      Even without the crush washer internal thread from 13.7 should equal way above 16, thats odd.
      The only issue for me is THIS WONT WORK WITH ANY BARREL BUT JP. It can work with "any barrel" BUT there will be a gap because JP makes muzzle devices for their barrels, so unless you have a JP barrel - the JP flash hider will not be flush to the barrel and will not look aesthetically pleasing.

    Whats better, a 3 prong or a 4 prong flash hider?

    • @thelonestarpatriot
      @thelonestarpatriot  6 років тому +3

      My opinion is that it's more dependent on the design and manufacturer vs. the number of prongs if it's based on the context of flash hiding alone.

    Hi, I just installed this and noticed a 'ping' tuning fork like sound every time I charge the rifle.. do you have the same experience?

    • @thelonestarpatriot
      @thelonestarpatriot  6 років тому

      It's inherently an issue with pronged flash hiders so it won't be eliminated but I don't notice it nearly as much on this one as others. It's one of those trade offs of excellent flash hiding vs. the audible ping.

    • @dolphinsattack
      @dolphinsattack 6 років тому +2

    Is there such a thing as a combo flash hider/muzzle break?

    • @thelonestarpatriot
      @thelonestarpatriot  6 років тому +3

      Yes, there a bunch of combination devices out there; however, typically a combination device doesn't perform as well as a dedicated device. Essentially, a combination device is a jack of all trades but an ace of nothing in most cases.

    • @bootgrip6
      @bootgrip6 3 роки тому

      Yeah its like when burger king started selling chicken whoppers to compete with chik-fil-A but then you realize its not as good as chik-fil-a and it doesnt taste like a whopper anymore... and then you start thinking... “Is this even chicken? Is that a fingernail clipping?”
      Then you just end up going to chickfila anyways.
      Just pick one. Compromises always suck because no one ever gets what they really want.
