I am an avid miniature painter and in games such as League of Dungeoneers, where standees were provided, I have soon reverted to using my extensive collection of painted minis. Dungeons of Doria just engaged me in the mechanics and I haven't missed minis at all. I have played about 5 games so far and have left it set up to just keep going back to as I work my way through one of the campaigns. It is a very accessible game and I can see myself using this as an introduction for new players.
I think the art on the standees, the cards and the box is very good, in an old school way. I am not a huge fan of the dungeon tiles, which are very thin and the art is a bit 80s video game ( although still better than the rubbish that Bardsung came with?!). However, there is a huge amount of work gone into Dungeons of Doria and I would imagine premium tiles would have increased the price and possibly put some people off? As it wins people over as a good game, I am sure that the developers can look at upgrading the components, including acrylic standees, but at this stage I am just enjoying the experience and the standees are working just fine.

What are some often overlooked rules?
I can’t wait to get this one to the table, it looks very impressive!!
I recommend starting with the quick start guide to get a feeling for the game.
Be sure to read all the text on the enemy card as they all have nuances to their abilities e.g. skeletons cannot be hurt by ranged attacks.
Be sure to read all the instructions for the scenario as there are often extra rules e.g. revolving rooms.
This game missed my radar, I remember seeing it being mentioned then totally forgot about it 😂.
Sometimes I wished they did acrylic standee characters and monsters like how DnD Icons of the Realms do theirs.
Well I’m glad I can shine a light on it for you, I imagine the acrylic standees would have driven up the price of the game when there’s so much stuff in here as it is. The nice thing is you can probably substitute any standees in here for something you have so you can bling up the game to your hearts desire!!
That's true using alternatives. I don't think acrylic standees are that more expensive - way cheaper than say full miniatures. What is the Retail price for this game roughly.
Looks good out of the box, although didn't travel too well. Should be the source of some great play through content, for me ersonally, some solo gaming would be welcomed 😊

I know the name is a play on Moria but could they have chosen anything more lame than Doria the Exploria? I notice a lot of the games you look at just can't be found (by me) in places such as Amazon...any ideas?

Where abouts in the world are you? Most of these games can be found on board game specific websites or from the people who make them (or Kickstarter/gamefound if they were crowdfunded)
