Loved the conversation, interesting tangent it went on. Being a woman, in the same age group as Kimachia, a Christian, and sort of having my act together careerwise, I had loads of feels about the dating/marriage conversation. So will summarise my thesis of opinions into two; 1. Men set the agenda for the relationship; I honestly believe that is their first duty if they perceive themselves as going to be a leader in a home. If you present yourself as a wallet to a woman, she will always expect that from you. You can’t be a wallet and when I expect a wallet, I become a bad person. I believe expectations should be communicated from the get-go to avoid disappointment. 2. Societal pressure is also real for women especially late twenties to mid-thirties on having it together. Men want independent, educated, cultured, semi-spiritual (Rev. Gowi this needs a podcast on its own btw), have a tonne of talents, madam manager, fantastic wife, and super mom to be. Still, they are not willing to build her the way they want us to build them and invest in a pipe dream for lack of a better word. When women make it, it is perceived they will disrespect you (hii ni nonsense btw), when hawatoshi mboga, they are too kienyeji you can’t deal….When you finally catch up to her ‘paygrade’ she becomes Shagz modo for you, now you want a cultured one….never-ending cycle It’s a jungle out there………kazi safi guys.
