Yes! When I was less financially responsible and racked up my cc debt, I ended up with about an 80-90% credit utilization. I then spent a good 8 months paying it all down completely from two CC’s, about $17k, and my score which was hovering around mid 600’s, jumped to high 700’s by the time I paid it all off. Now I’m sitting pretty in the 800’s, even hit 830 last time I applied for a new CC (still got denied tho.. USbank lol)

I do have a question, what if I become a authorized user on a good card (good history, big amount of money) and then, for x reason we have a late payment, of course that will be reflected on my credit history, but, what if I am being removed from that account, I am still going to have that late payment on my history? To get your score up getting your utilization at or below 20% under 10% would be better and with all your cards this with each payment on all your builds history this will increase your score but it will take time. I have one credit card for less than a year and my FICO is 750. I just graduated from a secure card. I also pay my statement balance in full every month. It will take time for my score to go up because my credit history needs more time to build up. I can probably increase it faster by getting another card. Which will increase my utilization and my credit limits.

I don't see why it shouldn't. Since it's automatically paying it on time you are not going to miss on payments, no missed payments means you look good to the creditor. The only down side is if you have automatic payment and your checking does not have enough funds at the time then the payment may not go through and it'll hurt you. I suggest keep auto pay on but also have alerts on your bank with payments, cash in and low balance reports.

blah, blah, blah! Nothing useful here. My score hovers around 790. I say hovers cause I pay all chit on time and my score drops 5 points....for no reason. and it takes months to get that back after doing everything right. That whole system answers to no one. Total BS.

it drops cuz u pay your card off in full
      dont do that !
u are suppose to carry a very small balance every month like a 2% utilization
i have 42 cards each one has a 3% utilization
      to show there all active
and are auto paid on time
when u pay them all off in full with 0 utilization
u can loose a few points for sure
they dont like to see that!
any one can pay them down to zero
they wanna see how u handle credit
multiple lines while keeping your utilization below 30 or 10 percent
      3% they love seeing that.
      i have a card with a 5 k limit
i spent about 40 dollars of that card a month thats 1% utilization
so instead of paying the 40 bucks back ill give them 32$ back
an let the 8 bukks carry over thats how u do it
      1% utilization
      looks better than 0 utili
they want to see some activity with low usage!.
      thats how u do it.
my score has stayed above 846 for years by doing this.

This is exactly the same thing I do as well-but with three cards. I only use credit to buy things. I pay off each weekly that way I can control my spending by seeing how much is left in my checking account. I never buy something with money I dont already have. but then when the billing cycle is about to end I make sure I stay below 10%. I’ve found that going above this percent brings my score down even by a few points. And then I pay all balances off completely the next day my bill is available. Rinse. Cycle. Repeat.

For sure. And my score, high 700s, should be over 800 'cause I put at least $18 thousand a month on my Amex Platinum card and pay off, but because I have no mortgages (have 3 houses), no other loans, no car loans, it's not over 800. The credit bureaus want us to do things not in our best interest but in the finance industry's interest - that is, have debt that you reliably service. A total scam.
