Great video! I have a 9to5 job as well. It stresses me out sometimes juggling the two. I was put on avail together with my boyfriend for a holiday commercial last week and we both had to take two days off from our 9to5 jobs and we didn't book the commercial in the end 😑. I also am a bit apprehensive about telling my colleagues that I have this 'hobby'. I feel like some people might start to treat me different and not in a good way.
@@BelgicaPaola My acting coach told me not to tell my employers I am an actor because they won't understand specifically because they will treat you different.
This is soo helpful I just went front A full time job to part job for more room for acting but now I want to go back to film time for more benefits and money to sustain me
Thanks so much 😊 with the pandemic, I'm very grateful to be able to still work hard at both although I haven't booked any big acting projects this year.
@@BelgicaPaola I'm in the same boat. only issue is, I left my full time job to focus my time mainly on acting. Been relying on my savings. I've only booked two low paying jobs and volunteer/extra work. I still have faith, but will be looking for part time opportunities while acting. Just gotta keep at it!
I love your videos so much! (: they’re so helpful! Your videos give me hope and help do much. Could you make a video on how to budget as a beginner actor who has minimal to no experience in acting, but is interested in getting into the business? ❤️
Yes, that is for sure something you have to keep in mind. That's why I am always up front about it so they don't have cause to fire me because I already let them know it could happen.
You are so lucky, most employers are very careful to hire aspiring actors. My other concern is when you get time to read develops acting skills, go and see plays. Also going on like this would a full time job alongside an acting career be sustainable when you have a relationship to think about as well?
Hey! I think just like any other career, you have to find the right job that works for you, and the right person to be supportive. Working a day job and acting is a lot of work. I have a now fiance (got engaged this past weekend) and we have been together for 10 years. It depends on how understanding and respectful each of you are.
Thank you. I found many points you mentioned benificial, however I would rather stay away from needing to run into an unhealthy habit like clock alarm:)
@@BelgicaPaola As a reminder when you are awake is fine, however when it comes to wake up to alarms its better to find out your sleep pattern and make sure those hours are slept through, any alarms should be for hours beyond that. I’m 24 from Oklahoma I never acted before well I took 1 year of drama class back in in my senior year of high school. I work full time right now I make $16 an hour 45 hours a week and I been thinking of taking acting classes and begin pursuing a acting career but I don’t know where to start because of my job.
Hi Victor, it sounds like you have a pretty busy schedule. If I was in your position, I would get acting books, watch some great films for research and get into an acting workshop (1 day) as well as look for student films to get some on-camera experience . Something else you can also do is get your headshots and get your casting websites together.

How do you establish yourself as an actor before getting a 9-5 job? Because I know there’s no way I can balance things out unless I have already been established as an actor beforehand.
Do you think this would work for a live theater actor, and how should I go about telling my boss about the audition, and if I get the part how will I balance it will I have to quit my job 😢
Really depends so much you energy and other responsibilities and where you work. I think this is a conversation you can for sure have with your boss and the casting team. ❤️
Definitely needed this video Belgica! Thanks for making this. Do you work a job that is strictly M-F 9-5 or are your days/hours more flexible (to swap say a Tuesday for a Saturday shift if you get an audition)?
Do you think it is still doable and be stable to do acting and have a part-time job? I plan to graduate college with a bachelor's in a health degree and move to LA and maybe get a part-time job that has to do with my degree so I have time do acting! What do you think? Any Advice?

If u doing TV show main lead actores. What is the payment system. u will get per day payment? u will get per episode payment? Minimum payment in TV serial for new face.

hello i have a question, i’m sorry this is a little bit out of convo, i’d like to know if we must have a diploma in order to be able to do an acting school? i may sound dumb but i’ve always wondered how the child actors do? i’m just getting started here and i am very lost, i don’t really where i could get all the detailed information because every website, every UA-cam video says different things it’s confusing..
Hi :) You see different answers because everyone's journey is different. You do not need a university degree but if you want to be taken seriously, you must have training, a headshot, resume and reel.
Belgica Paola Rodriguez yes i know that but i mean.. , i know i need training, i know what a headshot n resume is i just want to find a great acting school, or a good training im not really sure im doing it well because im on my own and nobody in my family is familiar with acting ;-; (or perhaps im really picky lol) i genuinely want to move to England for a while since my parents allow me. i’d love to get started there it’s my ultimate dream! i will be on my own that’s why i want to be sure about my direction when i get there you know? anyways thanks for answering !
I see. For acting classes, you have to shop around and see what works for you. I am working on a bunch of videos on online acting classes to help with the research 😊
This video is super reassuring! I've always been hesitant to pursue acting without a stable source of income. Thank you for talking about it.
Of course 😊 thanks so much for watching!

If I get a full time job, how could I ever act in a movie if I get a role? There is no way I can just say alright I am out for 2 months...
Hahaha agreed. You have to find the right job, Also, at the beginning you will likely book jobs that are only 1-3 days :)
If you book a big enough gig that pays enough doesn’t that make more sense than keeping the job? I’m talking like $100,000 plus role
