- Today's episode guides you through how to plan and create a detailed, realistic looking suburb complete with city park, playgrounds, local shops, schools and all necessary services!
Welcome to Auridon! This is a 'lightly’ modded Cities Skylines let's play series, although I do use a ton of mods the series will use mostly Vanilla (+DLC) building assets with only a handful of extras from the workshop. The focus of this build is on making a detailed city, with functional mass transit, including all DLC and content creator packs. 2022 ready! The series is based on game play mixed in with detailing timelapse's.

I love the whole feel of it. I can imagine the neighborhood bustling with kids playing in the sidewalks and alleys, Mothers shouting in Cockney or Italian accents. Now too that wide open field in the park you should see if you can get people flying kites or laying on blankets, tossing frisbees for their dogs to chase. I could almost hear music from small radio's dotted around the field! Anyway, that is what I felt watching the town grow. It brought back good memories of years gone by. Thank you!

This is looking excellent! The feel is good, the transitions between hardscapes and landscapes is great. I really love that little garden where the tree stumps line it and you cleared a path for picnic tables! It's very Few!

This is turning into a stunning mid-sized town, really liking the vibe of this. Brilliant detailing and the single-family houses look as if they've originally been built into a forest and then some roads have been planted between them - with all the trees in the backyards. I like that open area in the park, so much more realistic to have that for sports, bbq or even (small) concerts.
Loved the addition of the street trees to the downtown. Just feels perfect. Another superior build. :)
Love the schools. I too like to add football fields, tennis courts, gyms, grass squares, concrete squares, etc.
@12:30 ish your playground is crying out for a rubbish bin or two. There’s also some decals for “trash” on the ground which would be typical in a playground.

Here's an suggestion for one of the park areas: you could call it the kalour artist park! Also what an fantastic looking neighborhood area 😀
A lovely suburb, each build is different and with new ideas to the last.
The housing really filled out well! I think one of the parks could be called Tree Stump Park (or some other stump name) in honour of those awesome tree stump props used

I absolutely love this! All my inspiration for the suburbs has been plain grids and this is so organic, I love it! I do have one question though, what are some of the buildings you've put in your town square? I notice the library and amusement rides but I'm unfamiliar with the others. This build is fantastic and I especially love your attention to detail! You've earned a new subscriber for sure! I need to see where this city goes!
I don't know about anyone else but there is a 0% chance I visit a medical clinic that needs a crematorium right next door. I feel like it gives off the wrong impression lol.

At 21:45 when you place the Shell garage I like to create a tiny loop using the concrete road and then place the garage over it. It looks as if there’s two dropped curbs for entry and exit. If any vehicles use it to turn around it looks like they are buying petrol.
Yes great shout, I do do this sometimes but sometimes don’t to preserve the node count! 😂
I love the blocks of four European Apartment buildings. I would be tempted to use BoB to remove the parking spaces in the courtyards.

Love this! Maybe something could be called Mistral. The mistral is a strong, cold, northwesterly wind that blows from southern France into the Gulf of Lion in the northern Mediterranean.

Was wondering if the goods problem is due to that the pedestrian area lacks a cargo distribution building? Can’t remember if you added one last video.
Yep they've got one! And some of the issues aren't in the pedestrian area streets. I think it is just the distance to any source, but looking in to it!
I do always smile at crematoria placed next to medical centres...would not fill me with confidence as a resident 😅
Too often I find myself placing them too close to elder care centers. A bit morbid. Elder care centers should instead have playgrounds nearby for visiting grandkids or great grandkids. Much more pleasant than a memento mori crematorium.

Did you randomly draw the roads for Suburbia or did you have a layout in mind?
Randomly drawn! Although I had a vision of what I wanted it to be and of course the collectors to took precedence knowing where the main traffic flow would likely be, everything else just sorted of fitted randomly in.
