    Your plants are gorgeous. And your videos are helpful and relaxing to watch. Thanks for sharing your experience with self-watering planters. I have three Cubicos. I love them because they’re an attractive way to display table-top plants, allowing me to cut down on the number of horizontal surfaces I’ve been using in my indoor plantscape. Before I splurge on more tall floor planters, I want to try a couple in the Classico and Deltini designs, as well as a couple of other brands. I love your idea of customizing some of the planters for your own use by adding holes to assist with drainage. I’ll experiment with that adaptation on less expensive brands.

    I am a soil (potting mix) grower and have two Lechuza rectangular pots for my string of turtles (perperomia prostata). From there I harvest multiple parts of this into separate plants and once they are established I sell at a local market (trash and treasure/farmers market). From one parent plant 2 years ago I have created many plants and so far have made about $100 profit.
    Ok really not much yet but.... now original costs are already taken care of, the cost per plant unit is tiny. I have about 20 plants ready to sell soon and profit is good. The parent plants are doing well and for me they are a propagating machine. Every 2-3 months I will be harvesting 10 plants from each Lechuza pot.

    I love Lechuza pots! I got introduced to pon when I bought a few mini deltini pots. I’ve had so much success with philodendrons in pon that I am in the process of moving my smaller plants into pon. I agrée that Lechuza pots are the best self watering pots.

    You can make your life easier by buying the Cube 12 or 14 and use a net pot for pond plants with it. Heissner net pots are even fine enough to hold in pon. Poking in the stick for the two wicks is also no problem. Been using this setup for years now.

    Shocking that this isn’t a sponsored video! I would like to know what makes them so much better than others that I’ve found for a fraction of the price on Amazon- even the same design as far as it having the little “legs” that you fill up with the pon and it wicks up from the reservoir that way.
    Love your content, by the way! Do you use pon at all? Also curious why you never directly root in leca. It’s done great for me, particularly if I prop i water until I have a very small (1”) beginner root then transplant in leca/pon. My Monstera dissecta didn’t want to root so I put it in leca and it did great. ❤

    I have 5 pot sizes from them , 12-14 pots altogether. I also use wicks! same reason, I don't think leca would wick properly on it's own , specially in deep ports. My suggestion is to try gravel on the top, a layer of about 2cm. I use gravel because it's heavier and smaller. It helps me anchor the plant better I fell, and should lower evaporation I think.

    When you say flush do you flush the pon is it the same if you planted them in a soil substrate? If so why do you flush? And how do you do it? Are there any plant indicators that say ‘hey I need a flush’ thx 🙏🏻 for this helpful video ❤

  • @kyrad6543
    @kyrad6543 Рік тому +1

    I have one Lechuza pot and I'm using it with Pon. The one thing I don't like about them is the tall feet on the inner pot and that distance between the bottom of the pot and the reservoir which forces you to use a wick. For most of my semi-hydro plants that are in leca, I prefer the bottom of the inner pot to touch the bottom of the reservoir pot and not use a wick. But that's just me. But they are nice pots and I like that they do come with the pon.

  • @sandy_carpetsthesecond5013

    I think making the holes depends on the pot.
    If the pot is going to be going into a cover pot, or an external reservoir that's going to cover the holes anyways, then no. There's not really much point.
    But, if the pot is going to have the holes that are out to the rest of the room, then maybe. I don't know how effectively the holes would increase the oxygen levels within the leca, but It's not really going to have any side effects. So why not?

    Your video titles are getting a bit ridiculous. Pure click bait. Lechuzza are well known for decades used by half of the planet. You are talking about them like its some kind of miracle. Its just pot, cmon. You are trying to reinvent wheel, like with moss poles and other stuff. Easy to clean ? Like any other plastic pot. 24cm perfect for larger plants? 25 is too much ? Dust proof ? Im not even going to continue with those ridiculous statements. I loved your vids bit you got to the point where a lot of youtubers get - out of ideas.

I am so glad that you already knew about Lechuza and have for decades, not everyone does, and I can say that because up until a few years ago I did not. My experience with some people, not all, is they ask me what I use and why. That is the spirit with which I made this video. For those that may not know about Lechuza pots, but also letting them know why I use them and how. I am sorry you thought I was trying to reinvent the wheel or what you are calling ridiculous statements. I am simply a human being showing other human beings who may be interested in what I do and why. Thank you for your support thus far and I hope you stick around for more. Nora
