Its medicine. I can feel myself relax, blood pressure settling, emotionally balanced. It is a happy sound for me. Dunno if anyone else relates?

The sight and sound of a steam engine excites the emotions, for the moment everything else is forgotten.

The Albatros, a fine lady indeed. Been spotting the odd cameo or two so far :-> It was a good trip. John

Hi John, good to hear from you, 498.104 looked magnificent. I've been looking out for the odd cameo appearance as well. none in this one, but a couple in the driver's eye version. I'm working on the next diesel hauled leg now, editing these videos brings back a lot of good memories. Tim.

No issue by the way, it's just like seeing Alfred Hitchcock & co passing through :->. Keep up the good work. John.

Just as long as there's not a massive flock of birds lurking nearby! LOL

I'm trying to remember if I've seen this before. Apart from a joking reply I just a moment ago added to John Watts' remark about Alfred Hitchcock, there are no other comments by me beyond this one. Gotta say, though, that old loco really puts on a turn of speed. Nice videography, Tim!

Hi John, next you will be telling steam has been phased out :-) That engine looked magnificent in Blue, you'll be please to know the next leg of the trip is with a heritage diesel locomotive also in the care of the "Albatros Klub". I look forward to uploading that video by the weekend.

Steam loco hauls train with open windows. Does a railway fan need more, Tim? - Special thanks for short records and stills of beautiful mighty steam loco 498.104 Albatros. - Heinz

The day was a railway enthusiast's dream and this trip was only the beginning.

Now I see the whole train, can I ask You? Why not the original waggongreen livered coaches as imported in the '70 from East-Germany? Or a little bit older Czechoslovakia made ones nicknamed "Osmidverák" = "The eightdoors" (open saloon class Bai / Bp) or comparment classes Aa, Ba from Smíchov?
Anyway, very good video, made me an idea, how do to enjoy the steam journey.

Hi Jan, travelling with this magnificent steam locomotive was a wonderful experience. I don't know much about the carriages, there were three sleeping cars set up for day use, a restaurant car, and a baggage car, We traveled all over Slovakia in this train, although it was diesel hauled when we traversed the little used branch lines. I am editing the first branch line video now, it should be available before the weekend, I think you will find it interesting. The train was maned and operated by an all volunteer organisation called the "Albatross Klub", here is a link to their Facebook Page, although I am guessing you already know about them - facebook.com/pg/Albatros-klub-280474108662277/photos/?ref=page_internal

Now I got it. It was not only the Bratislava - Štúrovo journey, but touring around Slovakia. That explains a ZSSK company design carriages (sleepers or couchettes), and why not a daylight seated carriages.
(sometimes I'm confused, which word is a right term... passenger car, coach, carriage... turnout, switch, junction... sleepers or ties...)

This was a rail-tour around Slovakia arranged by an English tour company called "the Railway Touring Company". Passenger car, coach, and carriage can be confusing, all are OK to use, in England we would say "coach or carriage", but I use the term "car" because the largest group of viewers for this channel are from the USA around 29%, the rest are from all over the world.

SSSShhhhhh, Tim, gotta be very quiet passing through a sleeper car, you might wake it! LOL

I'm guessing you prefer the Hungarian spellings, apart from the spelling I hope you enjoyed the video.
