I'm someone who suffered a severe brain injury years ago. I know the difference that support from friends, family and total strangers can make on your journey to recovery. Yvonne will be fine in the end, she's a fighter. All her fans will still be here, even if it takes months for the channel to go back to normal. Thank you for the update xxx

I took lessons from a rider who had TBI. She was a blast and her beauty as a person showed even more so. Not many people of her kind spirit exist. Great hearts must go on.
Dearest Yvonne, I just saw this video and am shocked. I need to tell you it happened to me with brain trauma. 9 days coma , 2 months in hospital on the physio ward. Learned to walk talk and eat in three weeks. I even drooled ! Oh no.... but now I hike, cook and keep going. 2 years has gone by, I healed . You also will cry maybe a few months later or have feelings of being useless. You will also get through that. Remember this. ❤ I can also relate to you if you feel down or whatever . I will always be here to help Sister.

As an Occupational Therapist, I am SO HAPPY to hear of the HUGE progress that Yvonne has made! God willing as time goes by and trauma to her head subsides, she will have relief from from the noise. I continue to pray for her daily and got people here in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA praying who don’t even watch UA-cam! I received my Uniek/RS sweatshirt yesterday and LOVE IT! I will seek out the GoFundMe though. In meantime, May the miracles keep occurring for Yvonne and this family! Bauke, you are doing an amazing job as a husband, Daddy and now podcaster! Thank you for updates and view of horses but take care of you and yours. Sending much prayer and support!
I'm an OT as well. One of the things that stinks about it is going "worst case scenario" in my head. Fortunately, though, that gets countered by the knowledge of the skills that clinicians and support staff in those areas have and the forms of intervention that are potentially available. I have been praying as well in both of my languages (English and New Zealand Māori).
Love this post. You've spoken both as a professional (I think we all value that input so much)and as a Herd follower, and you are a spirit-lifter in both regards

As a physical therapist I am SO happy to hear of her progress....many small miracles and hard work (which we all know Yvonne can do) add up to the best possible outcomes. The brain often takes its time in recovery but the therapy helps things along a lot. We will be here when she is ready. Bauke- continue to take good care of yourself and let those around you support you, Yvonne, and the boys right now...we are ALL with you, holding you all up in prayer and love....hands and hearts from around the world focused on your sweet family. @@justseekingtruth3998 On 21 June Yvonne fell from a horse while riding and was found quickly but unconscious she was airlifted to hospital and remained in a coma for 1 week. She woke up and did recognize her family so is out of danger. Now is her recovery which can take some time to regain everything (brain injury). So sorry to hear of Yvonne's accident!! I know what it's like to have to soldier on when a spouse is severely injured. The stress is horrific between responsibilities towards kids, elderly parent, animals, and work. It appears you're doing a VERY fine job of caretaking and holding down the fort. Yvonne is beloved by many and we miss her sweet, quirky smile and the love shown to her horses. Take one day at a time and take care of yourself! She is young and strong and WILL recover. The Lord God who created her is well able to heal her, and many prayers on her behalf are rattling the gates of heaven as I type! God bless your family with peace and comfort during these challenging days. They won't last forever.

I find myself saying goedzo all the time lol - and some of the other sounds that Yvonne makes with the horses and 'heeeyyy' - I think it is amazing how present she is in all our lives, and we never met and never will - she means so much to us, we cherish her and her family, and horses and the people we have met through her.....keep fighting Yvonne!!

Sit takes time, which sounds wierd to me, like tv is tv you guys- rehearsed and accomplished in in about an hour. Our subconscious believes these quick cured and we get mixed up I think. Mammals - us included take time. 3 month to fix things - which will still be fixing after that , but less noticeable to others, isnnt
long in the scheme of things. Meanwhile

I am overwhelmed by this good news. My son had trouble with his right eye after his brain injury and it resolved very well in a few months. It was the sixth cranial nerve. Prayers up every day.

After such a catastrophic accident, it is heartwarming to hear that Yvonne is able to communicate, eat, move around a little now, read her mail. Her spirit is strong and with your love and support, she can overcome this.
I like that you are asking the ladies to film the horses. While we will enjoy seeing that, I know Yvonne love seeing how her beloved Queen Uniek, Rising Star and all the animals are doing. That will make her so very happy.

Wonderful news about Yvonne's little miracles. Unfortunately there is no quick fix for brain or spinal trauma just lots of little miracles that together make you whole again - or as I claim as near as dammit!! I'm also not well with technology. I wanted to tell you (and your wife) that she's saved my life! Watching her with the horses has gotten me though abusive relationships. She has given me SO much hope to want to live life happily. I think it's VERY noble of you to keep us updated, and thank you for getting out of your comfort to do so. There isn't a day that goes by without me thinking and praying for Yvonne and her family. This is very encouraging, to hear she is making progress.

Yvonne, I was able to see my friends two young boys, who had been living in Poland for three years. It was such fun to see how the children have grown but hearing A. call me Auntie Noël made my heart sing. I’ve just found your channel and was so heartbroken to hear about your wife’s injury…it brought tears to my eyes watching your previous video as your pain is so deeply felt. Happy Wednesday to you Yvonne. Watched a video where you spoke of 'the heat' when it was about 86F...well a 'cold front' has brought us 95F today in Oklahoma, then return to mid-100s for at least next 6 days. I'd love to have that 86F about now.

That Yvonne blows away the doctors with the pace of her recovery reminds us there is more at work in the human being than what scans can capture. The power of faith, hope and love is not currently quantified in our medical paradigm.

I hope my story will give hope for Yvonne and her family and friends. In 2009 my daughter, Heather got married in April. In June, one morning, 5:45 a.m. she was riding her bicycle to work at a little coffee bar in Manhattan, New York, USA It was approx 5:45 and a vehicle hit her but never stopped. Sometime later, a policeman found her in the middle of an intersection. Her bike was throw off to the sidewalk. She was bleeding heavily from her ear. Because bars stay open to early morning hours, the policeman thought she had been drinking and was on her way home from a bar. She couldn't talk, had no idea what had happened. On way to hospital she had a seizure and another in emergency room so was put into a medical coma for 2 days. She remained in hospital for 3 weeks, as recovering, going through physical and occupational therapy. It was at this time they realized she had lost her sense of smell. She had brain bleed into her temporal and frontal lobes. Her skull was fractured about 4 inches from above her right ear backwards and ruptured her eardrum. Her recovery was long and arduous, her brain injury causing a lot of side effects. She still can't smell which she has accepted. A year later she accepted a partial scholarship to Columbia University and earned her Master's Degree in Urban planning. Also she was asked to go to Rio de Janeiro with a team to help the city with logistical planning for the Olympics that were to be played there. It was difficult for her, still experiencing minor seizures occasionally and her brain still healing. Since then she has worked with the City of Los Angeles and the County of Los Angeles as an Urban Planner while raising their little boy who is now 6. Last year they moved to Rochester, New York, USA to be closer to her husband's family and working with the City of Rochester as a Planner They just bought their first home.. She's doing very well, only minimal effects still bother her but nothing she can't handle. I am so very proud of her. I lost my older daughter in a home fire in 2004 so this was a devastating event for our family. But a lot of prayers, excellent doctors and nurses and Heather herself doing so much research on brain injuries and she made it to the other side. I will pray for Yvonne and send this video to Heather so she will pray as well. There is always hope and Yvonne is strong. She has so many people around the world praying for her and her family. What a terrible stroke of fate that you had to fear for the lives of both daughters. Unfortunately, one could not be saved - but through a miracle, through many prayers and through Heather's power and strength, she survived this terrible accident. How nice that she is doing well today, given the circumstances. You can be so proud of her, of what she has achieved so far, through her strength, a bit of luck and ambition were certainly part of it - but also a lot of hard work and a family that is always by her side they've come SO far now. A moving story that will definitely help and support Yvonne on her path to healing. It will probably take a lot of strength and patience and a lot of homesickness for her family and for the animals - but I'm sure everything will be fine again and in a few months she will be able to take care of the horses and ride again.

Bauke, thank you for taking the time to give us an update. I know that Yvonne and the boys are your first priority, but I so appreciate hearing the good news about Yvonne. She sounds like she is making great progress and I hope and pray that now that she is up and walking that things will continue to improve rapidly. I live with chronic balance and dizziness and I know that our bodies and brains can adjust to things in a different way. The rehab facility will give her all the help she needs to learn to adjust to whatever she needs to and she will find ways of coping with any limitations, but I am hoping for a full recovery for her. This is so hard to believe - it must have been an horrendous fall - praying for your full and speedy recovery. ❤️💕
Has she spoken about what happened yet? Did something spook the horse? Was she training the horse in some manner and it didn’t respond?
When showing the horses, please show all and how they’ve grown. I’m curious to even see all the babies’ growth. Just the interactions put in the field as they play or graze.
I teach kindergarten and every morning watching the horses just relaxed me as I prepared for my class. It was fun to escape into the world of baby horses and beautifully cared for horses. I learned so much about something I love but can’t have right now.
Please tell her to do what the doctors and therapists say so we can get her back and we can wait, but her babies can’t. Her job was very physical. I was amazed at how strong she was which should make her recovery faster.
Give all hugs from horses, to animals, to those at the stall, all the babies, and Yvonne and yourself! Thank you for you tough job right now. That’s what love does.

@@LindaEll89 thank you.., glad it’s not Queen, but I wasn’t thinking her actually. I was thinking of the couple she’s been riding a lot lately. Glad the horse is fine, but also worried about any trauma she might have seen with a rider going down. They’re very sensitive and all live Yvonne.
Of course, our first concern is Yvonne and the updates have been awesome. Thank you. But… animals miss people too and thus we worry for all concerned.

Thrilled to hear of Yvonne’s progress. That was great news. Still a long ways to go but a great start. I have cried several times over her injury even though I have never met Yvonne. I was drawn to the Friesian Horse channel because of the beautiful horses but very quickly I also looked forward to seeing Yvonne. Yvonne’s charm, kindness, and strength were immediately evident. I loved when she walked among those horses in the pasture and how they wanted to be near her especially the foals. Even Senna loved to be near her. Incredible gift that Yvonne has! I will continue to pray for her full recovery and I thank her (and Bauke) for sharing her life with us. God bless to everyone.

Yvonne is a strong woman with a truly wonderful family to support her in her recovery. And she has all of us who follow her channel loving and supporting her! I am sending tons of positive thoughts and healing. She has so many, many wonderful reasons to survive and she knows this at a soul level. I just got out of the hospital with hip surgery. I know it was the five dogs I have at home and my adult children that have driven my recovery at age 70. She is so blessed to have you, your sons her horses, ponies, puppies.
