At 1:10 you should mention that you decided to cut costs by using the hardest, most brittle plastic possible for the hole plugs that will break off instantly under the slightest bit of pressure and to have a drill ready to remove the plastic stuck in the hole when the cap inevitably breaks off.
My fridge is less than a year old. Model WRT518SZFM. when following this instruction, I gently pry up the cabinet hole plugs only to find they are glued in. One came off and the other two broke off at the top. Now I have one plug with what looks like glue, and the other two stuck inside the holes. Now, is this a warranty issue? how would I get these plugs out? I can't drill the holes. this is frustrating.
Hi, this video is super helpful, except it doesn’t show the reinstall of the fridge door handle. Our fridge has all the holes to adjust except the top hole to swap the fridge door handle (on the top of the fridge door). If we were to do this swap, should we expect to have no fridge handles?
Wow, I have never had a fridge where the doors were connected and you actually have to take both doors off to change the direction! I will rethink buying Whirlpool again!
Im a delivery guy, and in the past fews months I’ve had to switch doors on model wrt318fzdw. 2 out of 3 of them the gasket seal is messed up. Please fix that because it is a pain in my ass. Thanks again
Its not about the fridge model. I just had the same problem. It seems that the seal on the the side without henges is compressed because of the weight of the doors since the fridge was manufactured until it arrived to you. The only thing which was supporting the doors in the (opening) side was the seal. I found a solution for it. Just after changing the opening direction for the door, take the seals out and rotate them 360 degrees and put them back. This will send the compressed part in the seal to the same area it was and it would solve the problem. They should mention that in the manual.
I have a Whirlpool 1818A all ready to change hinges everywhere else but there is no hole for hinges at top of main door. What can I do to mount it? Why would they leave one hole out? I've moved hinges before on Whirlpools/Acros
Or is it possible that the whole door is disassembled and flipped to use right side holes? But bottom of main door appears to have hole. Freezer has holes. Frame of fridge has holes to move hinges. Only one place does not. Top of main door.
How about a short video on setting refrigerator temperature? The new control for my recently purchased top freezer fridge is not intuitive and I am having trouble with condensation and improper cooling. Frankly, I'm surprised that there is no type of detection mechanism as a standard feature. Fridge is only 2 months old, and already problems that could be detected with self diagnostics. Welcome to the computer age :|
I know what you mean. It says two different things what to do if the freezer isn't keeping my ice cream bars frozen enough. It says change in the air flow setting to Max removes cool air from the freezer and uses it to cool the refrigerator but then it says if you want to temporarily increase the cold air flow to a specific compartment use the Max to increase air flow to the freezer or use the Min setting in freezer to increase airflow to the fridge. So now I'm wondering if the freezer isn't cold enough do I put it on Max or minimum
And what happens when you can't get those hole plugs out without them breaking inside? We've reversed doors on other fridges (other makes) before without problems. If I had known what a hassle this would be, I would NOT have purchased Whirlpool. If all their products are like this, won't be purchasing Whirlpool for anything.
don't waste your time on the door switch. the bottom door handle does not have - screw holes for the other side (right side) ! they did not show at the end of the video how to install the bottom door handle... will not buy whirlpool again.

A masterclass in technical voiceover.
what about holes for old fridge handle side, and do you drill holes for new fridge handle position?

Hi natalie, ever solve the problem? We just bought a fridge and can't get those plugs out no how.

I have the same problem. Any ideas?
I assume you just flip the handles upside down
Do you have one of these for a fridge on top, freezer on bottom?
Wow, you're very good at this. Please keep them coming.

What a ridiculous comment.

My fridgidare has a water dispenser in the door? Can I do it?

What did you do with the washer on the bottom side of the freezer door during removal? @0:42
I think it is the one that is placed on top of the lower freezer door hinge on reassembly.
I'm a small woman. Before I attempt this job, how much does the bottom door weigh? I don't want to bite off more than I can chew.
not heavy at all (make sure its emtpy from the inside)
You did not show how to prop that plastic thing that covers the hinge. The only thing I wanted to know. )
Well explained video instruction.
My cabinet hole plugs would not come out, the delivery men refused to try to force them for fear of damaging the fridge.
The Anachronistic Life it's cuz he didn't feel like doing it or simply didn't know how they come out easy if done right
@@kokeallen3192 so how should they be removed, done right?
