I'm pretty fond of using high tack aerosol spray for cork gaskets. I can never remember the company that makes it. Works great. A tacky red film for your cork gaskets.
Good tips, i could really do with someone like you over here in the uk I've got a 8v carburettor Vitara which is burning abit of oil so think il have to get the valve seals replaced soon 😞
That’s a go to yea valve stem seals but that’s a lot of work without knowing for sure. Compression test wet and dry will take the guess work out of what’s happening internally.

I saw a British old school mechanic recommended Vaseline on cork gaskets to make a better seal. What are your thoughts on that My.
Depends on temperature. The cork gasket material is not absorbent. It surely would make it easier to peak off compared to using Right Stuff.
