Thanks - I thought that might be the case, but didn't have time to compare the manuals. Besides, I have a TS-890S and would be tempted to get a TS-990S if I looked to closely at it.. hi hi - 73 de Tom, ND3N
@@ND3N I don't think the 890 and the 990 are very different besides the 590 that is built in the 990 as the sub. I love my 990 for it's build, the knobs and buttons, and for it's on air capabilities. Get one if you can ;-)
Those are used during real-time recording of your on air activities. See pages 12-3, 12-4, and 12-5 in your owners manual for a full discussion. 73 de Tom - ND3N
Robert, Page 12-3 through 12-5 of the Owner's Manual discusses on the air record and playback, with several different modes. You can record and playback, but not sure if you can transmit your playback - I'll play with it a bit and see if I can make it happen. If you figure it out before me, let me know. 73-Tom, ND3N
@@ND3N Appreciate the help. I looked at the manual and it does not look like the Kenwood TS-890S can transmit received/recorded over the air audio. It would be nice if it could play back while transmitting too. The Kenwood TS-890S looks like it has a pretty good amout of record options. Just not playback while transmitting. It would be great if Kenwood did a firmware upgrade for this......There must be a reason why Kenwood and Yaesu leaves this out of their newer radios.
Robert, Thanks for second checking me on that - It was my first (semi-educated) guess, but needed a second set of eyes. I'm not sure there is any rig out there that will do it, maybe some aftermarket stuff. I can't think of a reason why I would use something like that, but as always - your mileage may vary. I bet that something could be done, make the recording you want on the front end, store it to an external media, then play it back through the audio input on the ACC2 input - though that is meant for data, but it might work for voice. I agree it would be cool, but I've looked at a lot of rigs and don't recall that feature anywhere.
My question is: how to manage voice messages? How to save messages on memory stick? How to make more voice messages and put or take on transceiver as you need so? For example record CQ for each band , CQ TEST, and so on. If is possible to read for other messages on the stick? Is it possible that messages can be read from stick memories? How can I record - which software is OK to record other messages so I can save on USB stick and transfer them on transceiver? That are I believe the most things nobody know the answer. Is It? 73 de YO3VU
Thanks. I was having a heck of a time trying to record voices on my 890. Great v ideo.
Glad I could help!
Same procedure goes for the TS-990S, thanks Tom! 73

I'll add one to my Christmas list - just not this Christmas hi hi... 73
Nice tutorial. Will check my 890, but wonder if you can use F1->F8 on keyboard to transmit the approprite message while still viewing waterfall.
I believe you can. I’ll check next time I’ve got my 890S fired up. If you find out first, let me know
Thanks for sharing...thing is, you cannot see the bandscope while doing this so instead I use N1MM
I understand. I don't use N1MM, but have in the past. WriteLog is supposed to do it, but I haven't figured that out yet.

Nice job dear ✌️
What do the Record, Stop and Play buttons do? Located above the LSB/UBS button.

Can you record receive audio and then transmit it back?
