I am glad I am not flying to destinations where I have to answering for some security questions. When I flew first time in 2018 I watched many videos about everything about flying and I was pretending I am not first time on airport, but gate with scanner for boarding pass spotted me as noob who is first time at the ariport, I was scanning code for checked baggage on other side. :-D Bad think about flying today is older people without knowledge of English are totaly lost, everything is called in English - gate, boarding pass etc.. :-D :-D

Ah, they mean much the same thing in British and American English except for one circumstance. In both varieties they can mean the process of being moved ( eg damaged in transit) or going through somewhere on the way to somewhere else (eg. a transit lounge at the airport) But in US English it's also the term used to describe a system of buses ane trains that can take you somewhere. eg the city's mass transit system.
