@@rachelsenglish rachel check this please husband has his rule The ‹s› in the group ‹-sC (-)›, that is, ‹s› followed by a consonant in a non-initial position, is pronounced according to the loudness of the following consonant:
as [s] if the next consonant is voiceless, as in taste [teɪst]
as [z] if the following consonant is voiced, as in husband [ˈhʌzbənd]
Hi Rachel, how are you doing?
In two days I will be at the airport to pick some family members up, so it's perfect for me to practice these useful phrases. I need to get used to hearing the reduction "I've", sometimes I miss it. I am used to hearing "I have". But overall, I'm doing fine.
Thank you Rachel for sharing your valuable knowledge with us.
Keep it up!!
That's great to hear Naccio! Thanks for sharing too!

I really like this video the most because you're using so many techniques. In addition to the phonetic transcription { Utterance by utterance}. And I am sure its the best way for anyone to teach phonetics.
Thanks for sharing Ahmad!
This is such an effective method!
I've noticed that the word "where" have two possible pronunciations. When should we use /wer/ vs. /weər/?
Thank you Rachel!
It depends on how quickly you're speaking and if the word 'where' has any stress. If it is slightly stressed, you'll use the second option, if it is less stressed, it'll be the first!
You are the best my beautiful teacher ❤️

Hey Rachel, really love your video! I'm a Filipino VA and I work and talk to people from different parts of the world. It's usually a challenge when they ask " How are you doin?" I know it's just small talk but I sometimes get tired of saying " Good, how about you?" Could you also create a video about that? Also, I used to engage with American and Canadian clients but now I work with Australians and British clients. I used to use " Can you. will you?" a lot but now that I work with AU and UK people, I noticed that they are more of the " could you please and would you please?" - Is that the right way or formal way to say it?
Hi! Thanks for your comment and great video suggestion! As for "Could you please..." and "Would you please..." those are very polite and excellent ways of asking someone to do something! :)

Hi Rachel! I noticed that for the word 'flight' the last T-sound some times is a stopped-T, sometimes it is a true-T. So, how to know whether it should be stopped or true?
Both are fine! It's common for native speakers to use both pronunciations!

"i + consonant + e" when i read as / i: / or / i /, sometimes read as / ai /: for example: police, justice, marine, office ---- sunshine, valentine, online.What is the rule Rachel's ? please!!
Hi! Unfortunately, there isn't a clear rule here. As you list, there is some variety - and the best thing to do is look up a word when you aren't sure!
What's the Delta counter??
The Delta counter is where you check-in for a flight with Delta airlines. Delta is an airline that flies routes all around the world!
