I enjoyed this mixture of comedy, sci Fi, sweetness, and sadness all rolled into one homesick boy. His actions were believable enough and his interactions with Nancy Walker so innocently tender. Thanks and blessings for posting this unusual episode!
My husband had surgery for the removal of the left frontal lobe of his brain. For the entire day after he awoke from the surgery if anyone would ask him a question like how did he feel, he would answer with a number. The doctor said that as soon as the swelling went down in his brain his speech would return to normal and it did. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Howard Arnell -Mary Richard's annoying old boyfriend. Played by Richard Schaal - who during his time on the MTM show was actually married to Valerie Harper (Rhoda Morgenstern), plays Dr. David Sandler on Trapper John M.D. It is neat that Nancy walker is on this same episode, as she played Rhoda's mom on the MTM show and on the spin off -Rhoda. Richard Schaal also worked with another MTM alum - Cloris Leachman who played Phyllis Lindstrom on the MTM show and went on to have her own show - Phyllis. Richard played photographer Leo Heatherton, on Phyllis.
On one of my favorite Trapper John episodes, this was where Gregory Harrison met Wendy Phillips, there, when they would work together on "Falcon Crest". After Susan Sullivan was fired from the show, Harrison was brought in to replaced her, when he played the villainous, Michael Sharpe, and Wendy Phillips was Harrison's long-suffering sister, Lauren Sharpe Channing.
Nancy Walker presents: Bounty and the Quicker Picker Uppers. Alien freakazoid is playing with an early cell phone/pocket computer? Once again, the Djibouti nose flute makes its appearance, in a tender moment of alien repair boy, as he wanders aimlessly throughout the medical centre.
Can anyone help me, if you have watched mash tv series, and now you are watching trapper John tv show, please tell me , what happened to Louise and Becky and Kathy, remember Louise was his wife's name and Kathy and Becky were his two daughters. Please help
Well, this show is based on the movie MASH rather than the series. The character of Trapper John was single in the movie, so I guess they just gave his wife and kids new names for this show since there was no family to carry over.

Gall bladder surgery has improved since then...mine was done as an outpatient laproscopically.
