I always enjoy watching your videos and all the clearance plants hauls. I need to stay out of the garden center period because I never walk away empty handed. Your videos are very inspiring and give me a lot of ideas for my beds.
Just a couple of tips, considering you’re planting so close to summer especially in your zone, you may have to baby all the transplants big time! And always tease the roots of your plants before planting especially when the roots are tight. Keep ‘em hydrated. Happy gardening! 😊
Thanks for the tips! I very rarely tease roots to avoid transplant shock. My transplants do well without teasing I've found it's not necessary unless the plant is severely root bound. Our clay soil holds moisture & nutrients well so my plants do well😉💚
I agree, teasing the roots is not a good solution unless they’re really root bound. I have tried both ways over the years and not teasing tender roots resulted in stronger plants.
Love the variegated Hydrangeas! The Coral Bells look really nice in front of them and I also really like the bench area. Happy Mother's Day to you too. :)
Thanks Michelle!! It's coming together slowly but surely. I had a whole vision for this space that the hydrangeas were NOT included in... But I'm determined to make it work LoL 💪🏾💚💚💚
I do memorial Park in New Kensington PA on 6p and I have 30 gardens out there have been doing it for about 20 years now but I have a suggestion when you take a plant out of the pot if it's rootbound like it is you need to touch up the loosen them up a little bit sorry my phone keeps going off on me but yeah loosen them up otherwise they're going to keep going around and around the circle so a little suggestion talk to you later good watching your show okay bye
Thanks for the suggestion. I do that too but only when the plants are severely root bound but these were not. They were dying from root ROT so I removed the bottom half of the roots. They had been over-watered in their pots. I think they'll be much happier in the soil now😃💚💚
Good afternoon. Love those yellow green variegated hostas. you have. Miss Hostas. Moved from zone 7 Maryland to 10A Tampa and miss growing plants/trees that require sufficient chilling hours for dormancy. Jealous Garden is looking good.
Very nice. No worries, that new mulch will begin to fade and match the older mulch. Well done, very pretty. Maybe add some annuals to extra color. Impatience or New Guinea Impatience.
I had no idea they had variegated hydrangeas! I went on a variegation kick last year and haven't completely gotten off that train yet, lol. A cleopatra canna is on my short list now. Looking good Jess!
Thanks so much! I didn't either until I came across one online earlier this winter & I was instantly OBSESSED 🤩 I had a Cleopatra several years ago in a pot on my porch that bloomed amazing but the FOLIAGE is breathtaking!! Highly recommend 💚💜
I am a huge gardener, I love your channel ! your garden looks amazing , your choices of the plants and placement are great, so much texture and color just beautiful !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Jess I agree the Hydrangea look beautifully love them and lots of color looks stunny getting everytime more gorgeous 🌸👍🏼😃 love doggy too sitting enjoying the garden ..how the kittys are doing ?
Hi Jess, It looks gorgeous! Love the variegated hydrangeas and the contrast you've created with the heucheras! So envious that you can no dig! I just put in a new bed and it is so much work where I am! It's like planting in modeling clay and the plants will be dead in one week...lol!.
Love the variegated Hydranga I have never seen one they are beautiful like the peach colored plants as well you have such good taste thank you for sharing
Jess everything look so good I am a hydrangeas lover the big pretty leaves ,the color on them are amazing, we are twins I have the same mat I love it ❤🌸
Those coral bells will do great where the salvia are!!! They love the sun & I have mine in the sun & they love it. The shade creeps in & they love that too.
I’m in Tx, zone 8b, and our sun is brutal here. I have two coral bells on my back patio in pots. That area gets shade from about noon onwards, and get east morning sun prior to noon. The one that is closest to the edge of the patio already has some sunburn in May so I’m going to have to move the pot further back into the shade as our temps heat up. So far, we haven’t even had any days over 100 degrees yet (we usually do by May) and yet the one that gets the most morning sun has some sunburn already. I would definitely advise against putting them where they will get hot afternoon sun if u live in a warmer zone like I do. Maybe cooler zones can get away with it, but warmer zones can’t, and they will burn to a crisp and die.
Yea I feel you! It's definitely annoying when you don't get what you pay for. I usually get my mulch from HD bc it holds color better & I like the nugget look... but my BUDGET this year for the amount of bags I need was calling for Lowe's 2cu bark mulch. I guess I got what I paid for.😩 It will all fade to match eventually anyway.
Love the tuff stuff hydrangeas BUT I do know that they require a little bit of babying due to a possible late frost, and they do get stunt if you don’t baby and cover them 😭I have mines in container and it’s almost ready to bloom 🥰
The no dig method to extend your garden, does grass try to come through after a dew years, or does it just die due to the cardboard? I have a huge section i want to convert into a new bed, and was planning on digging it up, but this looks so much easier.
Peonies don’t transplant well, hopefully yours can recover in the new location. I’m in zone 8b and I want one but I don’t know if it’ll do well in my zone.
I’m in Tx, zone 8b. I tried a peony last yr in my backyard that faces east so it gets some shelter from our hot afternoon sun. It still died, unfortunately.
Not sure if yall have a menards but they are cheaper and never fails with anything especially mulch. Man in Nebraska lowes mulch is almost $5 and menards has it for low $3. SMH
I've heard of Menards before.. unfortunately we don't have that here. I get my mulch when Lowe's & HD run their mulch sales the bags are $2. Or I get the busted bags for $1😉

Gardening is an awesome workout. Watching this video, I would be sore for at least 1 week.
It really is! I say it all the time: "Who needs a gym when you've got yardwork?"🤷🏾♀️🤣

Thanks Malarie!! Btw your name is beautiful!💞
Looks great Jess. I had the same problem with the Lowe’s mulch. I got 40 bags in one day and only 7 were actually black. I was disappointed.

The cardboard, newspaper, brown paper bags, etc. (whatever you decide to use as your suppressant) will kill the grass 😉💚
@@KreatyveGardenista awesome thank you!!!
Question - which farmers market has these beautiful hydrangeas? I also live in NC - Charlotte area!
Hello, Jess! I’m off to Lowe’s!😂
Hope you found some goodies!!😉💕

Love all of it! Can you tell me the name of the small pine looking tree (round ball top) that’s next to the peach berry plants you planted?

I’m in zone 8b and my peonies are doing great. I’m in Canada near Vancouver. I have them in a partly shady area.
My peonies always throw a fit when transplanted LoL. But so far she is doing well in her new location👍🏾
I’m in 8b also my are doing very well I thin them out last year that area is growing very well
I am really lucky to live in Amish country so I get my perrenials for $2-$4.
What did you use for mole bait? Thanks.
I use Tomcat 😉
