I can give you little inside why the driver didn't stop even after that incident. Becuase robbery happens in night in few place. Sometime robbers try to stop bus by putting blockers or other stuff so that bus drvier slow down and they can get in to rob everyone. And the incident that happened with your bus seems like the case. Because if they had actually smashed other vehicles , the other vehicle owner should have called the p0lice right away. Since they didn't bother to call the police, you can be sure this was a trap. This is probably the main reason I can think of why they didn't stop. I don't think sleeping cause the issue, there is a second incharge who sits next to the driver, if that happened, he should have caught earlier. But I do agree on the fact, that they should have checked with all to see everyone is ok .
Also keep in mind, majority in this country don't speak English. Many knows only basic words and sentence. As a result many prefer to avoid a long discussion with foreigners. With that limited knowledge of English I don't think they will ever try to explain the actual situation. This could be another reason why they haven't explained you anthing. I know its frustating but language barrier is really a big issue in this country. Take the train ride back to dhaka. Wish you best luck and looking forward for next video. Keep smiling.

@@salmanshafin7291 Are you Bangladeshi? Don't you know what robbers do when they loot a bus? And if they somehow have information about 2 foreigners traveling in this bus they will definitely kill some people . The situation on the highway is not fully under control of the police team.
@@MdMazharulIslamOvieI agree with you dude. The same thing happened with me and my family when we were travelling but thanks to the almighty Allah that we were safe.
Do you remember when you were in China, your bus stopped at the service area for a few hours? Although you may be disturbed by snorers and unable to sleep, but I think it's better than risking your life.
They actually took the responsibility to make sure you reach to your destination. Well what happened there is , green line has the most number of luxury buses. You took the economy bus . That's why they actually needed time to arrange replacement bus from the depot. The reason anyone was not complaining is that , they actually think that accidents are the things that might happen any time randomly. Even after the accident they managed to drive it and reach the nearest station where you can have a bit of rest until the replacement arrives . Just imagine spending night in middle of nowhere at midnight . Is it safe ? or the driver taking responsibility of each passenger on board and driving the bus to reach the nearest station is safe? Everyone understands that , that's why no one was complaining about the situation. As the bus provider handled the situation responsibly.
This makes sense. They started to compare bangladesh with first-world countries unknowingly sort of. Kinda forgot that it's bangladesh, a third world country. Its not uk/scotland! No where near them or their system! 😀
Agreed! We, citizens of first world countries, sometimes forget that we are in a sense all privileged and that there are third world country out there. We cannot impose we standard of living to theirs as their countries are not as developed as ours.
they didn't took the responsibilities, they simply escaped. Otherwise there would have been police compliants about the attempt of the robbery on behalf of the passengers of that bus. That would be the least responsible thing they could have done. They simply escaped and also, as mentioned, they didn't even bothered about asking any of the passengers out about their mental or physical health. That's not responsibility. Stop feeding bullshit to the foreigners.
I'm from Bangladesh, but living in Europe for half of my life. This is one of the main reasons that stops me from visiting BD with my kids and wife. We just don't know if we will come back alive or uninjured. Bangladeshi roads are death traps. There are a few reasons for the bus or any driver not to stop. If they do, there is a risk of the bus or car getting mobbed and burnt. This is also the negative side of our culture that in a situation like this, people focus on destruction rather than the safety of the affected. This is why no bus/car driver would ever stop after any accident until they find a safe shelter no matter what. The attitude of the bus counter staff members was absolutely shameful! Glad that you both are safe and hope this does not take away any positive experience that you have in Bangladesh. Scottish and Irish are my favorite people in Europe. Thanks for visiting BD.
Another point to consider is that the bus did not stop at midnight in the middle of nowhere due to concerns regarding passenger safety. The road conditions are deemed insufficiently safe to warrant a bus stop during nighttime hours.
This makes sense. The environment in the video cannot even see the street lights. Stopping hastily without knowing the surrounding environment may put everyone in a more dangerous situation.
@@stevenbrown8183 first worlding people are very empathic. us 3rd wolrders on the other hand not so much. I would not call em Karens but they obviously didn't do enough research on Bangladesh and I can't blame for it as they are just tourist

The problem maybe if they have stopped there at the road the bus could be attacked by robbers. Robbing at the highways are a big problem here. The road and transport and health care sector here is shitty. What to do!
I think the situation could have been made better if the staff explained this, not one person spoke the full hour driving back to the bus station…. We should have also checked that the people we hit were okay
@@Alan_and_Shannon The local people probably understand the situation and that’s probably why they didn’t question the driver’s decision not to stop. Glad you made it to your destination without harm. Stay safe.
Green Line is one of the best bus service in Bangladesh. But it was an accident, no one expected it. So don't show your low mentality by unnecessarily blaming someone. Bangladesh bus service on long routes is quite good quality. The driver drove the bus in such bad conditions for your safety. It would not have been safe to stand on the street in the middle of the night.
they didn't stop cause they were scared of highwaymen. There is news of robbers blocking the highway and looting everything. Although these robberies don't occur anymore but you never know.
The driver didn’t stop there because, there have been found many robbery cases. If the driver stoped there , it could have been more worse than that. The drivers is not actually a pussy he was just trying to save you alls
As a Bangladeshi i always try to avoid bus rides. The bus drivers in Bangladesh don't want to follow the rules at all. I hope you will also try to avoid buses in BD :")
That’s why most of the young generation aim to go abroad because in here there is no safety of your life and no one even care. No explanation no liability for the rich people. Stay safe 😇
Hello Alan & Shannon. First of all we feel so sorry for what you have faced there. It is so terrible. But as a Bangladeshi i Let you know that after accident if the bus stop there it will become worst. Because robbery risk. So our county bus will not stop like European or American does. You may lost your luges or in worst case all the bus member and passenger attacked by others and causes life risk. In our county culture did not works like yours. I can understand your concern and your mental situations but yeah in Bangladesh things works like this though it is not correct. But that driver and bus stuff did a terrible mistake and they suppose to punished but at the end they protect all the passengers. I hope you both will understand the the hole situation.❤️Love from Bangladesh.
Thank you for your kind words. If this was explained to us at the time the situation would have been less scary but as you saw not one person spoke to us
Glad you guys are safe. They did't stop after accident because there can be thief or robber in middile of the highway. so they drive the bus and didn't stop. Be safe guys.♥
This is exactly what I would have said, best you guys don't travel to bangladesh until things improve,we're following you but not impressed with your reaction its a third world country wake up,also did not appreciate your foul language, all the best.
So the robber will rob a bus full of people at least 40 or more? That robber must be very ballsy or Bangladesh is the most unsafe country.😐 and what about police?
@@Wisewolf09 you probably have noticed that it was dark everywhere so it was unsafe to stop there. What i found strange is that no one else complained about it and ask for refund. Probably because they go through this quite often.
@Wisewolf09 the robber(s) could have guns, machetes, knives, etc. Not defending the driver overall, but like, you never know. He should have stopped a few KM down the road seeing no one following him though.
There is another reason for not stopping in the middle of the road at midnight. The Dhaka-Chittagong highway is an active robbery point and they often use this kind of tactics to stop the buses and then embarks on when it stops. Stay safe guys
My aunt had an incident in Mexico where armed men at a roadblock stopped their bus to rob the passengers. The military was nearby, and the men fled before anything happened. Consider yourselves lucky.
😅hehe. Not really, in many parts of China, drivers are fucking crazy and never follow the rules when driving. Especially those who drive overnight buses and heavy trucks, many of them suffer from overworking, sleep deprivation and extreme fatigue😅
Alan & Shannon, really sorry, to see your coach crashed an accident. In Bangladesh, accidents happen frequently since night coach drivers are often deprived of proper sleep. They only care about money and engage into long driving repeatedly. So, its better to book Luxury bus tickets for long journey. Also, it is requested to gather public reviews about "transports" that care about safety and customer satisfaction. However, sounds good, that you didn’t face any injuries. Hope you will enjoy the rest of your journey. ❤
What happened was unacceptable. I really feel sorry that you guys went through these kinds of situations. But to be honest Green Line is one of the finest here. Next time you may try Hanif/Shohagh/Saint Matrtins if you ever try again.
Greenline is one of the best, most reputed, and safest buses in BD.. But how did it happened we don't know. But we think that the bus shouldn't stop there because of robbers .. Thanks a lot to the driver that you back without any harm..
Thanks for sharing this video. I've been here a dozen years now and a intercity bus I was travelling in witnessed a head on collision between a bus and truck right in front of me. I went out to help the wounded and bloodied up people from the bus. It was horrific and I'm still traumatized. That's the last time I used a bus in Bangladesh. The illegal overtaking kills dozens every year.. 😢
So sorry you had to go through this experience. We had a very unsavoury experience with green line ourselves. They made a standard pit stop and while my wife and I were taking a washroom break, the bus straight up left without us, no call or headcount to check if everyone boarded the bus. We had to take another bus and ride for 30 minutes to catch up with our initial bus which had our luggage. They just laughed the matter off just like they did in your video. No accountability whatsoever. The sad reality is that most of us here in Bangladesh are highly desensitised to reckless bus drivers because we are so used to it which is why most of us will just shake it off. I would strongly advice you to take a flight to cox’s bazaar even though it’s much more expensive. Hope the rest of your trip is safer brother, take care!
Wow that is absolutely shocking, I'm so glad you managed to catch the bus up to collect your luggage. It's sad that the people of Bangladesh get used to this terrible service
You have no idea about 'expensive' bus. First, the VOLVOS that run in B'desh are the lowest grades even within Volvo. And let me not get into Daimler, Volkswagen, Scania, Entegra of the world. Best bus in B'desh is like the BEST Cricket Team in B'desh ..... 30+ years old and still struggling against Zimbabwe
This kind of incident is very normal in Bangladesh. The bus drivers drive recklessly. Many many lives are lost in BD due to road accidents. I am very sorry u guys had to face this kind of incident. 😢
I am a Bangladeshi atheist and that's not true. Even from a (mono)theistic viewpoint, believing in a benevolent divine entity *only* when one perceives danger would be insincere and perhaps not count to the supposedly omniscient God (hence it knows that the fear is temporary and the belief insincere). As for me, I don't need faith-based reassurance to feel safe - if it helps you, good for you.
Why I like watching your channel is this: no matter how crazy things got, Shannon will still have the biggest smile on her face… well eventually. It was in the middle of the night, it is even more dangerous to stop. It is actually safer to just keep going.
I am speaking as a citizen of Bangladesh 🇧🇩 Green Line Transport is driving buses efficiently I am speaking as a passenger not as an employee No.1 bus of Bangladesh I am sorry for the bus accident😭

Switching providers won't help. They're more or less the same. What you experienced is par for the course-not just there but all countries with similar institutional features.
It's distressing to see that such a significant accident went unnoticed by the media. It's crucial that incidents like these receive widespread coverage in Bangladesh to raise awareness and prompt appropriate action from authorities. The safety of individuals should always be a top priority, and it's essential for the police to thoroughly investigate the accident and take necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. This video should go viral to ensure that the message reaches as many people as possible.
Hi boss you have to understand its not Europe or america this is Bangladesh and try to avoid bus travel because all buss drivers are very dangerous driving
Bro trust me im a bangadeshi im not even gonna argue with you BUS DRIVERS ARE THE WORSE!!! Sometimes they even drive drunk and they dont even have a liscence dont ride bus Honestly dont take any bus it dosent matter if it is green line or not every company is like this And the "COMPENSATION" money they give you it was a bribe
So sorry this had to happened to you. Let me explain some things here, please don't get offended. Why the bus driver hadn't stopped the bus? FOR YOUR SAFETY. The bus was in the the middle of nowhere & stopping there would've been a huge risk of being robbed. So, the driver kept driving for an hour to stop at a safe place. Every vehicle on the road in Bangladesh at night is at risk of being robbed. Why they didn't tell you this reason? Because of THE LANGUAGE BARRIER. Please remember this while you're in foreign countries. You will face this again and again. What about Green Line? This company is THE LEAST BAD bus company in Bangladesh. Have you noticed I haven't said good? They should've apologized to you & calm you down & even with the language barrier they should've tried to make you understand. About you two - YOU'RE TOO NAIVE FOR SOUTH ASIA. Please, hire a guide from a renowned tour company if you can. Use everything premium, for example planes, 4 or 5 star hotels, cars provided by hotels(ask for it), get the information from officers or hotel manager where you are about to go & make them accountable, if you find a trustworthy English speaking officer ask for his contact number. Really worried about you two guys. Hope rest of your trip in Bangladesh is safe.
Hi Alan and Shannon. I am glad that you both and the other passengers are not badly hurt after such a horrible accident. That driver must had deprived of sleep after long hours of driving! My guy, there is no way you are complaining about a small crash that you were not even close to. Your overreacting and the crash wasn't that bad like literally chill. If there was anyone that was injured, someone could tell the bus driver and the staff could assist. The bus didn't stop because there are many robberies at night some are armed. I get it that you were worried but pointing at the poor bus driver wouldn't make the situation any better and be thankful that he saved you. In that situatuon, he couldn't really do anything and I don't know how the bus crashed so I'm not really blaming anyone. But you disrespecting the bus company and him is not good. If you were that keen to not travel by bus, then why did you not go by plane or train? I hope you read and reply to this, I want to hear your thoughts because you clearly don't update people after reading the comments and acknowledge what they've said. But you pointing at the bus driver like that, that was not right and that got me to writing this!
Small crash big crash is still a crash... and it is not even a small crash... Also, They could lose their lives when the bus driver decided to keep driving the bus without proper window.
Sorry guys but this wasn’t a good way of handling this situation. Shouting insults at the driver was not cool- now you realise there’s a reason the driver didn’t stop.
Hey Mate, I have been following you guys since you both landed in Dhaka. Let me admit the fact, Greenline is one of the best bus companies here in Bangladesh. Unfortunately, i really not sure why they didn't do any concussion check at the first place. I suggest you call 999 for any emergency support needed from Police. Greenline is the worst bus in Bangladesh according to the service.. I stopped riding this bus years ago after 3 worst back to back experiences. Thanks God you arrived safely after the incident.
Overnight long-distance buses were well-known for their bad safety record and bad hygiene etc., and this particular means of public transportation has largely been replaced by high-speed trains in China.
Bro, green line is one of the reputed company in Bangladesh. They are also famous for ensure safe journey for the passengers. But in Dhaka-Chittagong Highway, some robbers tries to stop busses by smashing on it or stopping the speed of other vehicles by keeping a vehicle across the road and I think your bus just smashed there. If that bus stopped you could get robbed. To make sure of passenger's safety, driver did not stopped there

I'm a Bangladeshi and I'm with you in this one. Although we're known for our hospitality, unfortunately these freaks (the bus companies) are so illiterate that they mistakes the word hospitality for sending to hospital. There're no rules and regulation in the traffic sector of Bangladesh. No one obeys the traffic lights. No one maintains the lane (3 way roads) There's no bus stoppage. Passengers run to get into a running bus (5-20 km/h) Overload of passengers in local buses. It's a chaos and nobody is actually bothered by this. We're bothered but it's so common, we just got used to this shitfuckery. I'm glad you were ok after that accident. Because it usually ends in lifelong casualty

Stop whining. In England, everyone would have been on the roadside, in the dark, in the cold for hours waiting for a replacement bus. People sometimes throw objects onto on coming vehicles and hope it would stop and rob passengers. The driver was brave enough to continue driving in the dark with no windscreen to get passengers out of a dark remote area to safety.

i hope if you come to Hong Kong or visit Japan you'll reconsider the buses, both Municipal and the Highway buses are decent, and even overnighters in Japan are decent, with several highway pit-stops along the way to stretch your legs. although you'd still want to bring ear plugs from all the snoring. These two places should give you a refresh on the bus system being a decent way to travel around. I love the buses in Tokyo's outer areas, you see so much more because they drive through a lot of local streets. Same goes for Hong Kong, maybe a little less for Macau but it's still not bad there, especially for crossing the bridges between Macau side and Taipa/Coloane(aka Cotai) side.
@@qianfong5397 that’s probably true, although they have had some experiences with the overnighter coaches in China and the experience wasn’t that great. i’m sure the local municipal buses are good in China, i don’t have enough experience to comment on them other than Hangzhou’s BRT is great, i’m just not a big fan of the ridiculously wide roads in Binjiang district. 😅

they didn't took the responsibilities, they simply escaped. Otherwise there would have been police compliants about the attempt of the robbery on behalf of the passengers of that bus.
That would be the least responsible thing they could have done. They simply escaped and also, as mentioned, they didn't even bothered about asking any of the passengers out about their mental or physical health.

Im from bangladesh but living in uk for entire life
The last counter guy was like, "You bought economy tickets, so its ok to be crushed"! 😅😅
I think the couple learned their lesson this time.

We had to take another bus and ride for 30 minutes to catch up with our initial bus which had our luggage. They just laughed the matter off just like they did in your video.

As a Bangladeshi I barely travel with bus! I hate this! I also hate train ride. I am not safe in any vehicles in my country. I recommend every foreigner does not come to my country🙏

Since the railway station started their journey in Cox's Bazar, most of the people loves to make their to Cox’s Bazar by train just because a journey by train is much better and safer than bus.In Bangladesh, people who lives here are really suffers by the bus drivers and conductors. For the time being people are getting used to make their journey by train and launch. It's sorry to see you both have suffered a lot as you guys are our guest.
But I think you guys should have discussed to make a better way to go to Cox’s Bazar. Now, train is available here.Take care and I wish you making a great visut to Cox’s Bazar.
