Both the Xbox family and the PS4 and PS5 controllers are using the same mass produced model for analog sticks, which are not as tight as past models as I almost never have problems with drifts with the Game Cube or the PS2 and PS3 controllers, which tells me that they were more tightly assembled or had smaller pieces as larger pieces tend to get dusty and that dust with humidity turns into a sticky substance that causes drift.

Okay, stupid question time... After you spray the liquid in there and wiggle the stick around, then the liquid dries, where exactly does the dirt go? (Dirt can't evaporate)
The hope is that the dirt will be removed from the contacts and drain out of the inside through holes in the case...or at a minimum at least be removed from the contact and collect in some other area of the stick. That's also why I show how to open the potentiometer in this video...so you can spray it in and let anything drain out the bottom.

I love that this video came right up when my ps4 controller started drifting lol
Although it does help that issue it definitely isn’t a permanent fix but it definitely solves the issue for a bit
I needed this video!! I already got the tools and clean the controllers but the right analog still has drift and idk if I’ll have to replace it. Lol #3 is the exact controller I have
Will the BW-100 cause the liquid damage Indicator to turn pink too?
No, the product itself is non conductive and evaporates at room temperature
