  • It's Memoria Press Box Day for three of our kids! Customized homeschool curriculum from Simply Classical Level 7/8 and Memoria Press Kindergarten. We ARE doing Enrichment, but I accidentally deleted the Level 7/8 Enrichment materials when I ordered. They're on their way now :)

I would love to take the leap to this curriculum but I am nervous.

I can understand that for sure! I agonized over curriculum every summer - until I realized what I was actually trying to achieve. That made it so much easier to decide between all the options out there. Check out my most recent video on “5 Tips to Find the Best Currriculum for Your Family”. I think it could help as you discern!

My daughter is starting MP Kindergarten and a 2nd grader!! Tell me about laminating art cards and the spelling curriculum. I'm new to MP!!

UA-cam wasn't notifying me of comments, so I just saw this today!
My favorite way to laminate is to use the Scotch self-laminating pouches (no machine needed), but they can be pricey for that number of cards. My frugal route is to use clear contact paper. It's more fussy, but it works great and it's how my mom laminated all our homeschool things when I was growing up.
I actually wrote a post about how we use Traditional Spelling recently -- we love it. You can see the post here: seekingdelectare.com/how-we-use-traditional-spelling-memoria-press/
Feel free to comment there, or email me directly with any questions you might have about TS!

I'm just starting simply classical Spelling and Writing book 1. We are also doing the manuscript copywork. I'm also doing the crafts. So if you have any tips that would be great? We are also doing the classic readers for first grade.

      Got it!
We only used the writing book for a few lessons. I don't think I fully appreciated the genius of it at the time (I have an impatient streak!) But looking back I can see how its simplicity allows a child to really solidify each point.
Copywork can be a struggle for some kids, especially if your child doesn't like to write. One way to help prevent this is to introduce it from the start as a special thing. Something that even the great people of history did so they could remember beautiful things. My kids loved it when I would play the enrichment music while they did their handwriting lessons. This can help make it a peaceful, relaxing thing they look forward to!
