Oh the other side there is tiny nut thing that is pressed to the plastics surroundings, if you apply too much force, it will get loose and start spinning. So as precaution apply rust penetrator oil and let it do it's work. Don't get fooled if the screw looses easy at the begining. It's the rusted other end of the screw when it gets in the nut it may stuck there. If you already broken it (like I did hehe), you will have no option but to work with pliers and moderate upword force. It is only plastic surroundings so you will get this out eventually and not real damage will be done. You can fix that by adding bigger nut and glue that in place or just fill the hole with some epoxy putty for plastics, it is not so much big of a deal anyway because the bumper is hard fixed in place already with the second screw (not to mention all the other screws) and is not going anywhere.
yes very good and professional ,you have a great pair of hands , is that car going for scrap as theres lots of stuff in the boot , just woundering thats all ,i wouldnt mind having it as its a nice color golf

Thanks for the vids Bmac. I think it was your vid that helped me get my hatch open from the inside when the mechanism got disconnected. & btw, triple square is a name for a 12 point bit.
+Radostin Velchev the oem led fixtures? Im installing those now/today. I reversed the polarity on 1 then when I was waiting for 2 new pins from vw the wires fell in. Did you need resistors? I dont want to use resistors but dont have vagcom.
+Radostin Velchev Got my leds working! I have the oem ones. 1k8943021c. Im in a mk4 as well; 2003. Just had to unpin the connectors and reverse the polarities. :)
I have a 2000 golf 2.0. If I'm sitting in idle for a period of or in traffic my car starts to over heat. Well the gauge says it's over heating but I haven't actually overheated yet also my oil was not sludgy. Help me. Or please give me your email I have more questions please.
Heyy BMac, I'm having trouble with my mk4 golf recently displaying an alert: " Emission workshop " whenever I first start my car. it just appears once and a single beep and then disappear. but car runs fine and no problem but only that alert thing. I don't know why it doesn't that. please Help Help Help waiting for your response thanks
Thanks for the videos. I need to replace my bumpers after lowering my car and the New England winters freeze your bumpers and they crack when you try to pull out of your spot you just dug out and hit a giant frozen snow bolder or gets pact in by the plows and rips the grommets right out. I'll wait till the end of winter but I wouldn't have had the confidence to do it myself if not for your videos. Now I need to learn how to replace my fender. The hub broke and the control arm and knuckle fell inside the tire and crushed the fender upwards on its way down. The wheel was turned to the left so it ripped it out from the firewall side and at the rocker panels. It looks like it's going to need some welding or a new rocker panel. Idk
So happy to see someone that finally explains it quick, easy, gets the job done with no messing!
Glad it helped
It’s not clear for me that the black clips that were under the lights are reusable?
As usual dude, plain and simple, thank you.
Somewhere behind the bumper is a vent that can let water in to the boot if seal perishes.
The screws at 1:56 just keep spinning for me and i cant get them out? Any suggestions?
Pull them out with pliers
Any tips on how you did it? I'm having the same issue... pliers didn't shit unfortunately

Thanks for the vids Bmac. I think it was your vid that helped me get my hatch open from the inside when the mechanism got disconnected. & btw, triple square is a name for a 12 point bit.
Great video, I'll need to go trough this procedure because the cable for the number plate lights has fallen inside the bumper
Mine, too. Last time I ever try to drive around without plugging them in.
I've changed mine for LED ones because the original light cases were burned by the bulbs.

Got some aftermarket ones with 18 SMD LEDs each from ebay. Mine MK4 is 1998 and does not have bulb monitoring.
