It would make sense for him to lose respect for Drake if he found out during the tour that Drake uses ghost writers. When Kendrick first met Eminem, Em made everyone leave the studio and asked Kendrick to write something so he could test his pen. He’s said a few times that he doesn’t respect rappers who don’t write their own rhymes and if you need a ghost writer, you might as well retire.
Kendrick prides himself on his connection to the hip hop culture, his hood and his authenticity. He might have seen Drake’s lifestyle and had conversations with him where he realized Drake’s not really for the culture and he’s not who he pretends to be.
