That white Supra at 6.35 wdh 2nd gear pops a wheelie, insane !
Suspension bounce/weight transfer. Ain't no wheelie from 2nd gear.

Either way it’s impressive the amount of power it generated to lift off the ground at that speed down the track.

I always wonder how cars loose control like that? What actually happened the moments leading upto it?
Looking at it again in slomo the car is pulling right under power, gear change then sent it further right and he stayed on it too long. He should have let go as soon as the gear change hit.

The owner was very lucky to walk away from this accident. Cars can be replaced people can't.

Here at heathcote when I was a kid I was playing on the old 70s playground the one before lance owned it I split my eye brow open and had to go in an old ford f-250 ambulance they were right next to the drags so I was only like 5 meters away and it was awesome 😂

When you show up to a KOTS and a guy who holds the Mickey Thompson World record shows up on a 275/60/15 radial. You just give him your entrance money and go home. Or test and tune. Argg!!!!😢😢

I'll be that guy. Don't get me wrong these cars are incredible and the owners have put big $ into them. But why oh why would you build a nice vintage car into an 8 second beast with very little safety in mind. That bronze Mustang. Yes it has a cage fkn barely in it and some race seats. Even if it's teched that car isn't safe by a long way.
I don't get it. I get wanting to go fast, just build a proper drag car and run as fast as your budget takes you but with full on safety in mind. Instead of these expensive half/cocked pseudo street cars that are over powered.
Each to there own but If I'm wanting to run 8's or lower, why compromise on my safety and also fking up a nice street car. Just build a proper drag car and go run 5's or 6's and do it properly. I bet a lot of the work gone into these street cars when you take into account custom fab work/paint body etc would much or surpass a dedicated drag car.
Smack a drag car into the wall as long as the running gear survives it's not as expensive as smacking a nice street car where just the cost body work would put you out of racing for a very long time.
I wonder if any owner has got specialised gears made up for the auto's and even the manual cars to suit, 1/8 and the 1/4 miles i get having the right diff ratios, but i bet owners do not get the auto gear sets done to suit the diff ratio as well, if they did then they would be so much quicker down the track IMHO.
Just asking the question thats all, i know ALBINS in ballarat can do it, but it costs a mint, they used to do the v8 supercars when they went with a all in one system instead of gear box plus diff, in fact they build the porsche gt3 race car gear boxes etc.🦘🦘👍👌✌ , also ii hope the silver camaro driver is ok. 🦘🦘👍👌✌
Albins do some amazing work.
But the sequential box used in v8 supercars as a core is around 22k last I checked, and that was pre covid
