The voices of "Blackie The Sheep" and "Wolfie The Wolf"were performed by two talented and wonderful gentlemen..that I was lucky enough to meet..before they left us:Arnold Stang and Sid Raymond.
Mr.Stang didn't remember doing "Blackie's" voice..but..Mr.Raymond did remember his performing the voice of "Wolfie"and he was surprised that I remembered these two cartoon characters.
@@kevinbutler1955NYC Steve Stanchfield recently acquired a nice print of the first Noveltoon, "No Mutton For Nothin'". It sounds like Arnold Stang voiced Wolfie in this one. (You can hear similarities to his Top Cat voice.) And it sounds like Blackie was voiced by Gilbert Mack, who voiced "Billy the Kid" in "The Hungry Goat". I just (re)watched "A Lamb in a Jam" and "Sheep Shape". "A Lamb in a Jam" still sounds like Arnold Stang as Wolfie and Gilbert Mack as Blackie. "Sheep Shape" sounds like Syd Raymond as Wolfie and Gilbert Mack as Blackie. (Except when Blackie is in drag. Maybe that's Mae Questel?) So I think Arnold Stang only voiced Blackie in "Much Ado About Mutton" and the Screen Song "The Circus Comes To Clown".
the end of the clip says "much ado about mutton." thanks for the year timestamp though. all i had to go off of was the board of review certificate number since the release year was not listed, and kept ending up with another cartoon instead of this one.

Really how??? And did you ask them about blackie and wolfie before?

(Crying)I still miss you..Arnie and Sid.
This beat sounds too catchy
I had a few Noveltoons cartoons on VHS and DVD growing up.
This show was shown on Nickelodeon and Nicktoons a lot in my fanmade AU
Always nice to see the original titles, considering that these titles were long excised for TV distribution.
I've been looking long and hard for this cartoon theme. I used to watch after school everyday. Thank u for uploading.
How were you able to watch this after school?
What station was actually airing these rare toons?
You woke the Nostalgia out of me!
The jack-in-the-box would later become the symbol of Harvey Comics.
This is the intro for the cartoon "Much Ado About Nothing" released in 1947 to Hollywood by Paramount Pictures in 1947 (roman numeral being MCMXLVII)
the end of the clip says "much ado about mutton."

It is also one of the many handful of Noveltoon shorts to enter the public domain.
I first watched this movie cartoon on WABC TV Ch.7 in NYC back in the mid 1960's.
