One could argue that Nuclear waste is our equivalent of wanting to seal away an ancient evil, so the writing style makes sense. You can't expect everybody in every language in some other time frame to understand what Nuclear Waste means
the other reason they wrote like that is because translating how we normally talk into 10 different languages is not easy and could lead to misinformation and confusion. Therefore the best way is to write in the most clear and single meaning way possible. but english teachers would say otherwise

@@FortyTheAlien Yeah, in all seriousness, I actually think its a fine plan. It's far too expensive to send it into space. If nuclear waste had the mass of aerogel, this would be a non-issue,eh? Although on a side note, placing a certain amount of radioactive isotopes into our own sun CAN serve as a beacon of sorts for other civilizations. It's something we look for ourselves when examining stars. anyway, I had two lines of thought when it comes to this giant nuclear waste center. One would be to seal it off and make it look like part of the natural landscape. Have your warnings placed, sure...but only for those who accidentally come across it. there's a chance that an imposing structure of spikes and such would just be...too inviting and mysterious for later generations to avoid exploring. Humans are like that. My second thought is that it's spooky enough that it JUST might work.

We went deep down a path that was closed off at a tourist center, and my whole class got to go to a large ravine where we all fit. Then we turned off our lights and experienced that “perfect dark” where there is literally not a single drop of light. Your mind tries to project everything from what it remembers, grey silhouettes would be flashing and trying to remember where it last saw any semblance of “solid land”
There’s a musical called “Floyd Collins” written about this. It’s about how Floyd was trying to make the cave into a tourist amusement park so he could support himself and his family. The last song where he accepts death is really really heartbreaking

Makes me think of one of my holidays in Norway. We were gonna go visit some famous local cave and found a dead goat literally just 10 meters into it. Needless to say I just waited outside, the weather was nice afterall.
Long-time nuclear waste warning messages are an insane topic to think about. You cant write nuclear waste because the site will maybe still be there when no one is left to understand the language, or society has collapsed and nuclear technology has been lost. Some of the more out there ideas include genetically modifying cats to change color with radiation exposure, so the people living in the area would develop folklore around cats of that color being a bad omen. Another would be developing a "nuclear priesthood", which makes going to that area taboo. Considering the catholic church is one of the oldest continuously existing entities of all time that might work for a few millennia as well. (Also thats like taken straight from Dune)

I actually love Jacob Geller videos. No one writes better video essays than him and I take a lot of inspiration from him when writing my own essays and analyses.
My absolute favorite Jacob Geller video has to be Does Call Of Duty Believe In Anything. It certainly makes you... uneasy about the state of video games.
I love caves, and I've had a lot of fun entering them, but I draw the line at crawling headfirst into a tunnel that you can't turn around in. Something about the photos of people doing that is just so scary to me on a deep level. Especially that part about the spelunkers diving into a water-filled tunnel with no scuba equipment and no way to know if there would be another spot to breathe. Like no fucking way I would ever even consider that. What about air too? How do you know that the other side won't have some sort of toxic gas. I never really get claustrophobic, but those two things would genuinely terrify me. I'd rather scale a cliff without a rope than dive into a small tunnel filled with water, just hoping that there will be air on the other side
There was one idea with the whole "make future humans understand that our waste is dangerous" and that was to make a literal cult/religion about nuclear, So future people would fear/respect the site because of the gods residing there. It never got a foot hold,
They’re spending millions trying to figure out how to tell people in the future not to play with nuclear waste. Maybe they need the marketing master to help

Cave diving is extremely dangerous, if you're not properly trained you can panic and drown easily
