I have a 1997 black 993 manual coupe and despite being almost 30 years old and not as quick as a newer 911 it is more fun to drive than the newer cars.
Lovely intro and video. The 993 is a fab car last of the watercooled. Let’s also not forget the engine, it’s a true race engine, very expensive one at that because it’s also handbuilt and as Porsche could not justify building a regular engine kept it in the cars, that’s one reason they are special, then what about the way the sound, at start up, the very purposeful bark(few mention is made of this in vids), then when you hit 4K rpm the crazy note change that will drive one crazy with joy(if you know, you know), then the character of the engine, feels like a thoroughbred being held on a leash, as they really do drive like race cars( the pretty looks hide these traits) alway seems eager to fly and takes a lot of restraint to drive em slow in my experience. To be honest one could write pages on the engine alone and I mean that very seriously too! Then what about the way the door shuts on all Aircooled cars and the ping one gets specific to the 993, it’s a thing of delight, it feels like a bank vault being shut with intention, you need to do this a couple of times(few people will close the door of one and not attest to this experience ❤️😁). Then what about the build quality of the car, the engineering is a thing to behold and the thoughtfulness through out the whole car is mind bending. I could go on and on about the idiosyncrasies of the car and quirks what’s and all. A whole book will be the result at the end. In short it’s one hell of a car (speaking from experience). Last thing they deserve respect!! And mean this if one is to drive them as Porsche intended, else one will be truly sorry(also based on personal experience). Sweet sweet ride indeed 🙏🏿👌🏿👊🏿❤️
Great review. I love this car. Just the other day one passed me and I tried to chase it for as long as I could just so I could look at it- didn’t last long! I will have this car one day, in silver. Even if I can’t get insured on it at first, at least I’ll have it.
I absolutely love my 993 C4s and have owned it since 2012 before the prices went through the roof. It’s getting old now with 260k km and will go to Holland for a full strip and rebuild next year.Hopefully it will bring my kids as much joy one day as I’ve had. My stereo system has a Rega record player in it so guess I’m an analog type of guy🤣
@@RollingSlowMedia my uncles were the vinyl guys in the family…. My teen years were spent with cassette tapes and I quickly moved to cd’s once I joined the navy. I wish like hell I would have held on to those old vinyls though
Great video Trevor. However I strongly doubt that the 993’s value has risen as quickly as Bitcoin, whose value has risen an average of 211% per year for 14 years 😉 However I get the point, my brother picked up a 993 for £16k

Love the intro Trevor, your presentation has come on leaps and bounds
Dug out my old decks for this one.
Thanks for featuring my car Trevor👍🏻
Fantastic analog analogy! Great video! Love my 993, keeper for life! Best of all the air cooled!
Great video Trevor; love the drone shots
Nice work - 993 is the best 911 🔥
