*sigh* I'm not gay or anything but my favourite couple is a gay couple and my family is conservative and I really wish I could be adopted even though I'm an adult
The fact that someone would rather have a child stay in an abusive system rather than going into a loving family just because they are LGBT+ breaks my heart
@Alec Stanton I'm so sorry this really isn't meant to be rude but children raised by a single, straight parent only by have one gender raising them and mosdt of them turn out fine, so my question is how is that different from a homosexual couple raising a kid? Again not meant to be rude just putting it out there
Alec Stanton I don’t understand you at all...what you said truthfully doesn’t make any damn sense but ok go off 🤷♂️ as someone who’s been through that awful system I can tell you that ur dead fuckin wrong and that I’d MUCH rather have been adopted by 2 gay guys over had anything to do with that.
Being fostered and then adopted myself I can honestly say that children just want a loving home. It dosen't matter if your family looks different then what "normal" families look like, every kid deserves to be in a safe and loving environment. This series is so important, so thank you Tyler for giving more exposure to the diverse families out there. You're gonna be a great dad!
The end of this video is so important. The fact that Tyler was saying it is on US to elect government officials who will help LGBTQ+ people thrive in society is so important. Just another reason that I love Tyler Oakley.
There is absolutely no justification for depriving a child of a loving family based on the fact that their adoptive parents are not heterosexual. Your sexuality/gender does not affect you ability to love and raise a child. It astounds me how people still think this way in 2018. I’m thankful that the rules surrounding this area are slowly changing, as is evident by these beautiful families you have showcased. Hopefully one day it will not be an issue at all. Very proud of you, Tyler. The Chosen Family series has been eye opening for me. I’m very much looking forward to seeing you be a dad one day Xx
thanks so much for watching this episode of chosen family!! these families warmed my heart & i hope you enjoyed hearing their stories as much as i did :)
I am listening to your series and I find them inspiring. I live in a small town in B.C. and I know of lesbians that that were couples and have children and run businesses in town and they r accepted. one couple runs 3 licenced daycares plus raises 3 children. People r people no matter gay or lesbian, black or white. by the way, learned of you by watching Superfruit and u being a guest. learned of Superfruit by listening to Pentatonix.
The fact that all this discrimination is happening is heartbreaking. Everyone is human everyone can love. And the fact that people are denying someone from caring and loving a child who needs that love and affection is unfathomable.
As an adoption social worker the amount of ignorant and bigoted questions I have had to field over the years about the many adoptions I have done for same sex couples is ridiculous and infuriating.
It's really sad to see discrimination against same sex couples when they're trying to give an innocent child a better chance at their childhood. It's more than a lot of people do, and what gives anyone the right to say you're not "worthy" of being a parent? This video was amazing, and I hope it brings some awareness to this issue!
Derek Cliff Crane a lot of straight parents aren't adequate to have kids but still do and they end up in orphanages sometimes. Homosexual couples are like the heroes to orphans when they can only adopt. I think they should be allowed and even encouraged to adopt all over the world
Its amazing what faith based organizations THINK god wants. I'd rather believe in a god who would want a safe and loving home for all children regardless on who's willing to provide it. but idk
Hi Tyler -- I am single gay man and foster parent working to adopt a teenager from foster care. Its the most exciting, terrifying, challenging, and reward thing I think I'll ever do. I am really happy that you are reaching people about this cause. It means so much to me and I just wanted to thank you for using your platform for something so amazing!!!
I absolutely love the chosen family series and this episode especially really hit me right in the feels. Me and my wife just got the news that there is a wonderful little boy waiting for us in Korea and in just a few weeks we will be flying out to bring him home and we can't wait for the moment when we finally get to hold him in our arms and know that he is ours.
Congratulations Ellen - and to your wife also! Another lucky baby who will grow up in a secure and loving home; who could ask for more than that? Enjoy every moment, my daughter is 14 now, and those moments when they’re little are so precious - and so much more fleeting than we realise when we’re in the midst of diapers and teething! Much love to you and your family xx
Tyler, this is so important. You don’t know how much this means to so many people. Personally, I grew up being afraid to be myself because I wanted a family. And I didn’t even realize that being gay and having a family was an option that was available to me. But seeing real, beautiful, thriving families raised by queer parents gives me hope and so much joy. Thank you for this.
I am an adoption worker and was able to match one of my couples (two gay males) with a birth mother and their baby boy is two months old now! They are the best dads and it makes me so happy.
@Kitalia the kitsune What's ironic is that the fashion in which the LGBT community operates can be likened to that of the morally contradictory religious right that you supposedly condemn. The hypocrisy of it all.
Personally, I’ve always wanted to adopt, whether I marry a man or a woman, and I’ve always wanted to adopt older kids to give them a chance in the system again. Stories of adoption are so inspiring and amazing and hearing these ones made me really happy. I’m loving this video series. Keep making more!💕
Thank you so much Tyler for putting in all this work for our community. This is interesting, educational, and powerful work. This series and your impact is more meaningful than I think the whole of us have grasped until now! 💖🙏🏽
I love this series so much, Tyler. This episode moved me. Gay couples have just as much a right to raise children as straight couples. As long as the children have loving parents, that’s what matters.
Ipsa Veros So infertile couples or single people shouldn't adopt either? They can't reproduce biologically either. I know one of the couples featured and they are some of the best parents a kid could ask for.
I really love what you've been doing with your videos. ❤ You use your platforms to make our world a better place for all of us, helping us understand so many things. 😘💕
The way you were playing with Nate was so cute !!! You'll be an amazing dad some day and I can't wait to see that. 💕 this episode and the whole chosen family series are so precious. Thank you so much. I love you so much !!!!💖
This brought a lot of different emotions to me. To actually believe I can have a happy family one day. I was always curious about this, thank you Tyler for doing so much for the community.
As a trans guy who wants children in the future. This has really helped me! I’ve always struggled with the fact that I won’t be able to have my own biological children, but this, this really hit me in the heart... knowing that it can all be okay in the future makes me smile! 🙃💯
You'd be an amazing father Tyler, and I can't wait for you to have your own family. Thanks for bringing attention for these important issues related to our community
Why so judgmental? First, AIDS does not discriminate straight or gay people. Second, there are already ways, including medicines preventing the transmission of HIV. So, yes, the most important thing in a family is love and sharing. I hope you understand that the type of comments you made only hurt and destroy people for no reason, not giving them solutions, love, freedom, and hope.
This means a lot for me to see. One of the reasons i knew i was a lesbian is because i could never picture myself having such a deep relationship with a man it was always another woman who I imagined coming home to, loving and growing old with. Seeing lesbian couples inspires me to know that i can have that love to and any life I want. If I ever have kids my first choice is adoption because love makes a family ❤🏳️🌈
You inspire me so much tyler! This video is just another piece of evidence to prove that you will be a SPECTACULAR father!❤️ this has to be the best episode so far but I will probably say the same thing about the next one!! I love you tyler , and you continue to bring me joy each and every day ☺️😘
As the son of two lesbian women I want to thank you for making this video. Growing up having two moms was such a normal thing to me though I saw absolutely no other representation of LGBTQ+ parents besides my own. There are no two people I love and respect more than my moms, who have been there for me at every stage of my life. Thank you for putting this video out there and allowing others to see that what matters when it comes to parenting has nothing to do with orientation or identity, it has to do with love.
This hit hard. My family didn't cope well with my coming out. I don't feel at home with them anymore and that is a feeling I want no one else to feel. I've wanted a family from a young age and that didn't change as I realised I'm a lesbian. I can't wait to marry and adopt a child with my future wife. I want to give a child the loving and supporting family they deserve and that I don't have anymore.
I've never understood why people think lgbt+ people shouldn't adopt. As a foster kid I would LOVE to be adopted by a lgbt couple! Nobody asks what us kids think though. I love you Tyler and appreciate everything you do for the lgbt community ❤
My friend is lesbian and is married and adopted two girls. They call one mom and the other momma. One time one of the girls had to say that they were best friends!I thank you for doing this Tyler!
That video was great, but that is a lot of work! You can see the work you put into your video. I must say it was impressive to hear the stories. It was in fact touching. Thank you for sharing.
As a kid raised in a LGBT family. Thanks for this. Thanks for trying to raise the world awareness of that a family is a family no matter what. If there's love... That's it.
As an adopted kid I have to say thank you for making this kind of content. It's super necessary and important that people have this discussion and not just potential LBGTQ+ parents but all potential parents. Adoption saves lives, changes lives, including your own for the better. Getting to share that love with some one who desperately needs it is rewarding and appreciated in ways you can't even understand. I don't want to think about where I'd be if I hadn't be adopted. My birth mother was 16 years old, not ready to raise a child, my birth father was some singer in a shitty so-cal rock band and the moment he heard the news he split. My mother would have had to drop out of high school or get her parents to raise me if she wanted to finish. And as weird as this is to say, it was for the best for her and I. She finished high school, graduated college and now she works as a breast cancer researcher. That's so fucking amazing and I'm so proud of her for having the courage to put me up for adoption. So people... adoption. It's love.
As a trans man with a female fiancé, I’m so scared we will never be able to adopt. My grandma told me they’d never let me adopt. This gives me a bit of hope. Thank you.
I personally know Rick and Tom and this made my heart melt. When I saw this I was like, “ wait oh my god that’s Rick and Tom, with Tyler this is crazy”
I recently went to/was in the bridal party of my friends' wedding & got to meet my friend's new step children. One of them was adopted and I had no idea until I met him. He was raised by his amazing mom and now gained a new step mom. They are raising 2 of their grandchildren and are their legal guardians & I can't imagine a better home for those 2 kids. This video just warmed my heart & i'll be happy to share it with Jill & Dorothy.
This episode made my heart warm up in happiness cuz most of my friends are gay and lesbian and my straight friends (and I’m also straight as well) judge me a little but are supportive of me having all these gay and lesbian friends. I just love gays cuz y’all are so happy and positive people 24/7 nonstop and that is amazing. If only other straight people could (in a non-disrespectful way) have a view on people like gay people have on their views about us. This world would be a better place if people in the world would just accept everyone and forget all the stereotypes about gays and just say that all people are just regular human beings at the end of the day and we should all love and support one another cuz we’re just regular men and women at the end of the day. Love you Tyler Oakley you’ve inspired me greatly and I hope the best for you will come in the near future.
My parents are lesbians and I’m adopted so this literally made me cry! I’m so happy he did this 😱😱
I love your videos
💜💜
*sigh* I'm not gay or anything but my favourite couple is a gay couple and my family is conservative and I really wish I could be adopted even though I'm an adult
Cody Whitlock did you have grandparents and aunts and uncle
elsa1942 Awe. We’ll adopt you! Lol. We appreciate allies and non-judgmental people. I think deep down we all look for that.
i haven’t grown up in a family where queer topics were discussed a lot, but i know my family and my chosen family love me for who i am. 🏳️🌈
The fact that someone would rather have a child stay in an abusive system rather than going into a loving family just because they are LGBT+ breaks my heart
@Alec Stanton I know I'm late, but what about children from single parent families? Should they also not be allowed to have children?

You are a VERY bad person Tyler... made the deal... I hope you pay dearly...

this is exactly why i wanted to cover this topic!!
As an adoption social worker the amount of ignorant and bigoted questions I have had to field over the years about the many adoptions I have done for same sex couples is ridiculous and infuriating.
Chae Miller, I bet it's all worth it once the kid ends up in a loving home though. Keep it up Chae, im sure you do great work.

judaspreistvlct literally what r u talking about bruh
You're going to make an amazing dad one day if you decide to be, and that child/children is going to have the best dads
I’m crying because this video made me so happy.
I love this series so much, Tyler. This episode moved me. Gay couples have just as much a right to raise children as straight couples. As long as the children have loving parents, that’s what matters.
Exactly ! It is unfortunate that the same sex couples are discriminated against when they adopt a child .
Hey Kurt. How do they have just as much a right? Just because they want one? Why cant same sex relationships produce offspring? I'm confused. Thanks
Ipsa Veros
Because they’re a human who should have equality with other humans??? Why do you even need a reason?
Ipsa Veros So infertile couples or single people shouldn't adopt either? They can't reproduce biologically either. I know one of the couples featured and they are some of the best parents a kid could ask for.

M H And it’s not disgusting. These are actual, living people you’re talking about.
I can't wait to be a mom with my five adopted children :)
Sabrina Spencer Me too!!
I hope you are able to adopt without any discrimination when you decide it's time and you will be the best dad ever.

By far my favorite so far this season
As the son of two lesbian women I want to thank you for making this video. Growing up having two moms was such a normal thing to me though I saw absolutely no other representation of LGBTQ+ parents besides my own. There are no two people I love and respect more than my moms, who have been there for me at every stage of my life. Your videos are so inspirational! Love you!
I love these videos. I feel like the projects you’ve been doing recently seem so fulfilling and are really important.
Amazing! Thanks Tyler for being a light in these dark times!
You’re a woman. Have a child the natural way -not the unnatural, state-sanctioned abomination way.
I love this series. I cry a bit every episode...
Love this video idea. 👨👨👧👩👩👧
Update: Tyler liked my comment and I’m freaking out more than I should.
AHHH THOSE ARE MY NEIGHBORS!!!!!!! YAY YAY YAY!!!!
One of my favorite episodes yet. this and lgbt homelessness
I've never understood why people think lgbt+ people shouldn't adopt. As a foster kid I would LOVE to be adopted by a lgbt couple! Nobody asks what us kids think though. I love you Tyler and appreciate everything you do for the lgbt community ❤
This is so beautiful! I love this series!
Oh gosh, this was my favorite episode so far ,and honestly Tyler I think you would be the best dad ever!!💓💓

Nate is soooooo cute!!!!❤️❤️❤️ Your voice is so important Tyler and I love it
This is my favorite video so far ❤️.
saaaaaaame :)
That's it.

growing up looks scary right now but this video made me so happy to find a wife and adopt a bunch of kids one day
getting emotional within less than two minutes into a video has become a weekly thing now
this is so so sweet and lovely!! im loving this series SO much, love u Xx

Absolutely loved this episode, there are so many people in the LQBTQ+ community who would love to love babies who would love to love them!
You really know how to make me cry😭 I love u so much
Thank you for closed captions! And thank you for showcasing such lovely families
I really love this video considering that I was adopted ❤️
I love this! I was adopted 21 years ago from China when I was 8 months old, and I love learning about other family's adoptions stories 💕👩👩👧

You’re going to be an amazing Dad one day
