If your randomizer setting is giving your classes blessings and curses (which it looks like it is) you can see what the changes are on the class select screen by hitting select when you have the class selected. In game, you can check it by going to STATUS of the character and hitting select in that screen.

I have an idea for another type of challenge run which could be fun: fewest # of 'days' (where a day passes at an inn/tent/cabin/house/etc)
one idea i had would be for the pixel remaster; double white mage in front rows with monk and fighter in the back rows. the aesthetic there is you convince the enemies that you're not their enemy before absolutely deleting them.

The first and most important thing about final fantasy is player placement. Your first character is going to take almost 70% of all attacks. Gotta have your tank first. And buying the lute like that? It's the very last key item you use in the game. That money could have served a much better purpose early.

You might like the Deep Dungeon mode in the FF Randomizer. It makes the game into something resembling a roguelike with completely procgen dungeon floors etc.

SHIP is placed in the closest inner sea location to where you find it.
If you got fighters in the group, you always want them to be in the top spot.. their defense is best and the enemies will usually attack whoever is on the top spot the most..
Did anyone else scream out loud when, after lamenting being broke for most of the run, Ryu *walked out of the shop to drop equipment on the ground* so he could buy those pro-rings instead of *selling them*?
Noticed, but he had so much money by that point, it might have been faster to just drop them rather than going through the extra clicks to sell.

Hey Ryu, magic advise, the Afir, A(whatever) white magic spells are pretty worthless. FOG and FOG2 are armor increases, its INV and INV2 that raises evasion.

@@jackw.3504 Yeah just imagine running into that thing and never having read the manual and monster list. You could play multiple rounds and never encounter him then BOOM! right on the tile before tiamat a fucking monster machine, surprised your party, nuclear on the first turn, dead before you can close your gaping mouth.

@@jackw.3504 I never had problems with tiamat. I discovered my first battle with it that it was susceptible to bane and you just happen to pick up the bane sword in the mirage tower on the way up. Definitely the most op item in the game. Not so much as a sword, but using it as an item. There were some incredible weapons in that game that were not particularly great equipped, but used as an item they truly shined. If you could sneak into mirage tower as early as possible and grab that bane sword it really upped your game. Poison smoke.. terminated. Anyone could use it, no mp to use it. Yeah, I still think that sword was the most valuable treasure in the game.

I think I'd prefer it if it wasn't just the key items swapped around. Like you could get random junk from an NPC, and find the TNT in a random chest somewhere.

I think you can access the northern continents with the boat (even though there's no ports) by going from boat to canoe.
Indeed you can...in fact you can go to the castle of ordeals insanely early as I discovered many years ago.
As well as lefien where you originally get the chime and the water dungeon
@@nathanberry5805 indeed. You just can't get to the dragon caves, town of Gaia which isn't necessary, or the mirage desert without the airship. Everything else is accessible once you get that canoe
Does this Randomizer fix any of the NES version BUGS?
Yup! There's a "vanillish" version which just accelerates the game and fixes bugs (most notably crit % being assigned by weapon order in the list and TMPR actually doing something positive) if you want to play the original game in an updated way, but there are TONS of settings that you can adjust as well that you might find even more enjoyable.

There is. But you had to look on the version tab of final fantasy 6 to find it when I bought it. It wasn't listed by itself
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it best to give the Masamune to your white wizard?
the Masa should go on your primary damage dealer, unless you have a really good alternative. At which point you should put it on your secondary best damage dealer and swap it back to the best for chaos (and move them to slot 3 or 4 so they have a higher chance of surviving the initial rounds where you buff up)

hmmmm..... still not really sold on trying a randomizer.... not my cup of tea 👹
This version is not like the original. You start with more gold and some of the items in the shops should not be there. Please retry on a version that has not been altered so much to cater to a speed run. Also run speed seems faster than normal. GJ completing quickly though. 2 hours is as quick as I can do on pixel remaster.
