#ryobi #chainsaw Our latest purchase is a 36V battery powered Ryobi chainsaw. This is our assessment from our first use of it......oh and some cow kisses too!
I'm here because I just cut up about 250 kg of eucalypt, that was very dry and VERY hard. I cut it with a 10" 18v Ryobi battery chain saw. I have two petrol chain saws, (Husqvana & Ryobi) as I had not used them for over a year, neither would start. Will need to clean them out and put fresh fuel into them and service them properly. With my little 10" Ryobi, clean it, sharpen the blade connect a battery and off I go. It took some time to cut that wood, but it did the job. Considering selling my petrol saws and going for the 36 volt. Looks like the way to go. Thanks for the review.
Bought this chainsaw this year and did a lot of cleaning on our yard, cutting trees, to get them in shape or cut some completely. Its really fun to use - especial as you just press the button and don't need to let them run while your f.e. fiddling to get the right branches for the shape cut. I got the brushcutter and vac/blower for this 36V battery as well. All very strong machines. I am impressed about the power they have.
Yeah its a great little chainsaws for those little jobs and some pruning when you dont want to go all out. I recently bought a 38hp Ryobi petrol 20" chainsaw and its awesome but if im just pruning a branch or two or want to cut down some pallets, this baby is the go. Thanks for supporting the channel
Replaced my older Ryobi under warranty today and this was the model I got. Have to say everything about this latest model was superior to the old one. Much larger chain/bar oil tank, and I like the ability to adjust its oil flow. Was 20 feet up a tree and just had to press the switch to get things going, rather than muck around with a petrol model: felt very safe by comparison. I filled 4 big wheelbarrow loads with cut wood on one charge, so can vouch for the power of this little machine. Cleaning it afterwards was incredibly easy with an old paint brush to remove all the sawdust, and a clean rag over the body: looked as good as new. I have saved several thousand dollars over the past 5 years by keeping my trees DIY trimmed and this 14 inch model really is all I need.
that is so good to hear. As we both know its not a high volume, every day chainsaw that is going to cut tons of wood but for short jobs particularly up a tree, its just ideal. Thanks so much for the comment!

thats fantastic. As i said in the video if you are going to be cutting down big trees and cutting up a years worth of wood...this is not the chainsaw for that. Its a very powerful and safe 30 minute at a time chainsaw and ideal for cutting up smalll lots of timber or trimming a few branches. I love it but it is definately a niche tool. Hope you enjoy it.
definately worth a look. Look at the 36V ones as they have a bit more grunt and a battery life. Wont be the only chainsaw you would own but a very handy one for certain circumstances.
They are a great little starting place for beginners to be sure, don't need to stress about a petrol motor and i high speed spinning blade that likes to jump.
How's the chainsaw going? Is that Sugar Gum you cut up here? We have two petrol Sthils which are both great, but I don't like using the big one and the small one is a @#4! to start. I love the Ryobi 18v range and now I'm weighing up getting few of the 36v range to help me out around the farm instead of buying petrol tools.

Nice video. I have a question. If you were to use a fuel chainsaw for this kind of wood. Would you cut more or less wood with one tank than with one full battery with the Ryobi?
Now that is a great question. We might set up a test to do just that. We have alot of wood to cut. I am guessing the petrol but lets put that theory to the test. Will let you know when we post the results. Thanks for such a great question.
Yeah the battery definately doesnt last as long as it did. I now have a petrol chain saw which is fantastic but this electric one still is very handy particularly for small short jobs. Very convenient but definitely doesnt replace a petrol Chain saw, rather it compliments it.
This is Australian hardwood which is from our Eucalyptus trees. This is one of the hardest woods on the planet as it is very dense and dry and is a very slow growing tree. I believe some hardwood was sent to American nail gun manufacturers in the past and they could not believe how hard it was. We have pine as well and we use that for construction so I am familiar with both sorts of wood. It would be like comparing aluminum to cast iron or butter to particle board. This blade would have no problems with pine and spruce so I would have no hesitation with recommending it for that type of tree and wood. Thanks so much for watching the video!

Came over from live , i am a ATV channel but I used to be a farmer . So I’m always hanging with the homestead community
always use protection , yes!!!! That thing made easy work of that log! seems a lot quieter than a normal chainsaw.

I like Ryobi. Light tools to use. We have the Dewalt battery chainsaw. I really like when you stop cutting all the sounds stop 😀

Make sure you buy atleast 2-3 more batteries for the saw, if you gave a big job cutting you will need the power.

battery chainsaws are nice but i used gas forever while they are more fussy they do have more power

Quick question - do you tighten to bar/chain-oil flow-screw, when not in use, to prevent the oil from leaking-out?
I havent had to do that yet and its been all good. I do always check the bar oil everytime it use it.
