Use a closet, dowel rod. They are very light, but strong and you can drill holes through through it to run your para cord through and then just not it up
I cant stand the whole concept of working dogs out there a pet and maybe ur not abusive but a-lot of people that do this crap are and it breaks my heart to see them on a leash on a treadmill how would you feel if someone put you on a leash and made you work out shits torture and shoulld be against the law!😢

What I found works best is Paracord. So even when they catch the cord like most puppies and dogs like to do. It doesn't frey, frizzle or snap.

I made mine, broomstick with some paracord and a rope top connected on the end, I found the same thing with buying them, they just break and bend.

Look up a sheet bend to tie the bite toy on and instead of a zip tie you might find electric tape better

When you see them on a mill leashed, the dog is self propelling the mill. Having a blast
