If you don't support a band that works quite as hard as these guys than you're foolish to think good music will ever thrive. They are the definition of heart and character and deserve everything that's coming to them!
The album isn't nuts, you can't eat an album. This album felt so experimental with different sounds yet the band dealt with progression so well that no matter what sound it was the band put their hearts into it. Soupy's writing improved so much Matt's voice was amazing as well, this band makes me glad I'm from South Philly.
I just wished this album had some gang vocals on at least one track and one of their fast one min songs like dynamite shovel, suburbia, you made me wanna be a saint.
I'm fantasizing about doing a raindance in traffic I'm fantasizing about a storm to wash me away If you'd study the laugh-lines, you'd see that I'm cracking I spent six months now feeling like dead weight [Chorus] The fighter in me must have died a long time agoI must have been watching his ghost; Just going through the motions, just putting on a face It feels like 1929 and I'm on the verge of a great collapse today Every window in this house faces a brick wall I'm panicked and absent like a bird in a cage The word from the front lines says that we're out-gunned But I can't walk away, no, I can't walk away, no, I can't [Chorus] I was just happy to be a contender I was just aching for anything And I used to have such steady hands butNow I can't keep 'em from shaking [x2] I can't keep 'em from shaking [x6]
I meant fast as in quick, like fast in time.. I like the quick songs. And I like the gang vocals like "my friends all say!" and "don't let me cave in!". These gang vox don't quite cut it, but are still good. Sorry I should've been more specific...
I find the lyrics to be a little less audible and straight forward. but the rhythm is pretty damn great in parts throughout the album...you gotta agree?
There is just so much hate lets just agree that this album is nuts, and leave it there. At the end of it all, we all love the Wonder Years, now shut up.
I'm assuming FSF stands for Free Speech Fights. Why would it be Further Seems Forever? Saying it stands for F. Scott is WAY more accurate. But, I think it's Free Speech because of the "American Religion" title. So...
+Taylor Alexis It's intentional. They like to make call backs to old songs and lines that have a lot of meaning and to represent recurring themes in life. That's my take anyways. It's just like how the littlest things can bring up old memories over and over again and feelings never really disappear just fade.
“I’m fantasizing about doing a rain dance in traffic.” The imagery in that lyric makes me weak every time. I love it so much.
''It feels like 1929 and i'm on the verge of a great collapse today'' fucking superb lyric, soupy is such a good lyricist.
"I was just happy to be a contender"-- Reminds me of Brand New lyrics.
+donnyinlakai561 Probably a reference to On The Waterfront

sooo god so stoked for this album!

The vocalist's name isn't Soupy, you can't eat a vocalist.
Hope you're still alive.
Can't wait for this album to DROP!!!
Favorite song on the album. I love Matt's voice alongside Soupy's!
You have so much catching up to do, all of their stuff is great.
I just wished this album had some gang vocals on at least one track and one of their fast one min songs like dynamite shovel, suburbia, you made me wanna be a saint.
Yup, definitely buying this record.... Officially a Wonder Year and I just discovered them today..
Pretty sure that this song is the perfect description of my life right now!! Finals week makes me want to Rain Dance in Traffic ;p LOVE this song
I USED TO HAVE SUCH
STEADY HANDS
CloneOhHigh BUT NOW I CAN'T KEEP THEM FROM SHAKING
I love this song a lot. it's a more epic version of Washington Square Park.
I really really want a "TWY" tattoo. I already had one in mind but with this sick album i may have to re-think what i want :)
He sings that referring to the great depression which started when the stock market collapsed in 1929.
awesome
I'm fantasizing about doing a raindance in traffic
I'm fantasizing about a storm to wash me away
If you'd study the laugh-lines, you'd see that I'm cracking
I spent six months now feeling like dead weight
[Chorus]
The fighter in me must have died a long time agoI must have been watching his ghost;
Just going through the motions, just putting on a face
It feels like 1929 and I'm on the verge of a great collapse today
Every window in this house faces a brick wall
I'm panicked and absent like a bird in a cage
The word from the front lines says that we're out-gunned
But I can't walk away, no, I can't walk away, no, I can't
[Chorus]
I was just happy to be a contender
I was just aching for anything
And I used to have such steady hands butNow I can't keep 'em from shaking
[x2]
I can't keep 'em from shaking
[x6]
When Matt sings = eargasm
This is fucking phenomenal

This song makes me think of death of a salesman

yeah I meant the "great collapse today" part, but they posted the lyrics. couldn't understand what he said.
that's my song!! that's my SNG!!
It feels like 1929 and I'm on the verge of a great....???
What does he sing there?
Well. I found a good song.
His name is Hank
there are gang vocals in the "oh oh oh oh" in this song and also suburbia was not a fast song.
I used to have such steady hands
Music is an art not a product. If they didnt need money to make it im sure alot of bands like the wonder years wouldnt put a price on it.

Why the hell do you sound like my Aunt?
Well i got the leak and bought the album
The chorus makes me wet. Seriously Soupy can not write a bad song.
What about 'Bout To Get Fruit Punched, Homie'?
am i the only one who's noticed they have the same lyric verses in a lot of their songs orrr?

PhantasmAMX well yeah i've figured this out now over a year later; lmao thank you though!!!
Taylor Alexis Haha, no problem! Didn't really note the comment date when I thought to reply. ^_^
Yeah, take a shot every time Soupy says "bloodstream"
Like when he says 'the highway won' referencing 'Me vs. The Highway'
Yeah, no sense supporting a working class band and buying their album on the release date.
Steals low key music..
FIRST?
hmm so far not to impressed with this album compared to the others but this song aint bad
