  • We recently moved into a new home. Today I finally make a fun space for the kids! A playroom, music room, library, and tv room, all in one! I share my tips for organizing without getting overwhelmed, how to take breaks, and letting the little things go so you can have joy and peace while getting projects done.

I had "folding" overstuffed chairs like your "couch" in the playroom for my kids 40 years ago. They could lay it flat, turn it sideways for blocking walls or put it into the overstuffed chair shape. They loved them in the playroom. Then I had the girls horse stables, the boys farm barn & tractors & plows. Then another rug area that was the construction equipment area with backhoes, dumptrucks. Lincoln logs, and such. Then then next rug area was a mini kitchen and baby dolls and the child size table & chairs. So I understand the way some of your organization method works.

Toddlers, especially twins, are little research scientists. They are into everything as if they are working on their own doctorate & have to get it finished in 3 months. They feed off of each other with new experiences & learn from each other, too! At least it was with my twin sons. When they were babies the youngest would always reach out to touch his brother when sleeping in a divided crib. He would go under the cloth divider with his arm & find bubba's arm before he could go to sleep. Twins are a handful, but so rewarding, too. Thank you for sharing your journey. Praying for you & your family. With Jesus you can do anything! You are a survivor!

You accomplished so much in that short time. What an amazing fun response the children had when they seen it. The room just brightened up from all the joy you gave your sweet babies. I remember cleaning up so many times a day because clutter bothered me so much. Then I realized that I was over reacting and stressing for nothing. So I cleaned once a day at the end of the day so I stressed less and we all appreciated life so much more. When the kids got a bit older, they could clean with me. After that, kids could clean it up.The messes got smaller somehow when they started cleaning up after themselves. Love you Bri and your sweet kids. Bless you all.

I loved seeing the kid’s reaction and how quickly they built their fort. Your twins will soon realize they can pile up the cushions and climb to reach things on the higher shelves. Please don’t postpone securing the bookcases to the wall. I know a family that tragically lost their two year old when he tried to climb a dresser. I don’t like posting “doom and gloom” type things but you’re only one person with so much on your plate and can’t think of everything. I pray all your dreams come true in your new, beautiful home. 🙏🏻❤️

@@charlacharlie6222 I do have that IKEA shelf, or the old version of it, and it's never been screwed to the wall. I'm happy to report that it's still standing and has never budged, not even when my little brother climbed up on it when he was a toddler (he's 21 now), which he loved to do to get the DVDs down. I did however put the heavy stuff on the bottom shelves and the lighter stuff, like DVDs, on top. Dressers are more dangerous I think because they pull the drawers out and then climb into them and then the dresser falls forward because of the wrong weight distribution. I wouldn't trust one of those Billy book shelves either because it's tall and not as wide, so it's not as sturdy. But this one doesn't really budge because of its size and weight.

If your little ones like to climb, you don't want the bookcase falling on them when they climb the shelves. So please spend the $10 or so that it will cost to buy wall fasteners for security of mind. Be sure to get them for all bookcases and tall, free-standing chests of drawers in your house.

Bri you are the very picture of Blessedness-a young mother with all her young happy children around her. I enjoy seeing how you do it without any household help, except the older children. My Grandma was one of 11 children, and my Great grandparents homesteaded on the N Dakota prairie. They all lived in a sod house , a little house on the prairie when the children were little .later they built the farmhouse which is still there and the farm is still in the family. I asked my Grandma how her mother managed to take care of all her children in a little sod house. She said, Well, the older kids looked after the younger ones and everybody had a job to do. You r new home is just lovely and you and i am so happy for you that you finally have space and room to spread out. I love the way you give thought to enriching your children’s lives with books, so many wonderful books for each age and interest and encouraging their creativity and imaginations. Hi Bri. Congratulations on the new energy of your channel. I was wondering if you would ever share with us what works for you and your homeschooling curriculum for the littles, resources, etc. Thank you!

You are such a pro at this filming - also enjoy your humor with things that could be so frustrating to some of us. Thank you!

Filming is easy. It is the editing skills that make it look fluid. She does a fantastic job! Most edited videos take around 6 to 8 hours to complete.

I remember fondly, when we were young, 50s , my two brothers built a fort from scraps and were so proud, my sister and i made curtains. It was a fun build and kept 'the kids' busy for a summer. Enjoy this season. Many blessings to you. I am praying for Art's healing

Well done Bri, but please make sure you get the brackets attached to the wall studs asap, because taking the weight of books off the lower shelves will have made the bookcase more unstable. ❤

Love watching you negotiate the excitement. They are little for such a short time that only seems like forever. You are doing all the joyful things that keep you on track yet enjoying the children. You are doing the important things for your family. One step/box at a time. Laughter is such good medicine. Thanks for sharing those 10,100,000 steps! See ya Wednesday!
