"Don't you think that you took the wrong career, being a musician?" This interviewer is a complete sack of @#*&. You don't have to be outgoing and be able to talk everybody's ear off to be a musician. By far the dumbest question I've heard a interviewer ask in a LONG time. Ray is one of the greatest gifts that the world of music has received in the past two or three decades. Thank you for making such touching and beautiful music.
there is a void that a lot of western men have allowed themselves to slip into, where nothing holds meaning.. clearly one of these two men has lost his grip, and one has not, and if you can't tell the difference, then you're in real trouble. patience is a virtue. peace.
The book he mentions in the interview in called "The Memoirs of Gunter Grass". I never read it but I may have to look it up. Ray LaMontagne seems like the kind of guy I could sit with around a campfire and have a few brews.
Yea that was kind of rude once i got to that part of the interview...Ray said the right thing in saying "no." He really has a great talent and of course he should make music his life. We are lucky he gets up there and we get to hear his music!
I love him so much. I don't say "humble" anymore, though, when I refer to him. I saw in an interview that he doesn't like that term because by definition, it sounds almost self-loathing. He said he tries to "have humility." I like that a LOT better :)
I actually never knew that the song Meg, White Med white whatever it is called was about the white. I always assumed it was about a personality that so many of us know . I have never followed the white stripes as a band. I know a lot of people like them. But I never ever heard a reference to them in the music from that album. Because I do not know their music I only heard a very powerful song, which means a lot to me, and has nothing to do with another band.
Lavigne and Lamontagne. They have the same ending, I was thinking Canadian and think about how the way Avril Lavigne name was spelled. I thought he was greek, but it doesn't matter.
As much as it's interesting to hear what he has to say, this format is terrible. Everything from how close the interviewer is to Ray to the use of a microphone is too cluttered. Almost feel sorry for the guy, goddamn!
I mean...here you have your basic fun loving German groupie who apparently earned enough trust with Ray to sit down on camera. But the whole thing is a mess. I think Ray comes across as a real douche and pulls back a lot. He can only express himself through music. Not gonna win any personality awards, but who cares😍🤓😚😳

God I love Ray. No affectation, nothing put on. The man is his music.

Clearly there is one in the room that choosed the wrong carreer.......and the other one is a fucking genius

Ray seems like a man of not many words. ..
I heard he was shy, but I didn't realized quite how much. I admire him for getting through this since it's clearly so awful for him!
"didn't you pick the wrong career?" Tactful answer to a tactless question.
Such a down to earth man, very cool, nice to see.
Please come to Sweden Ray!!! I would do anything to see you play live..
right on! What a way to answer a stupid question. :D
"did you make a wrong career choice?"

Cant you afford for Ray to have his own mike
GRAN ARTISTA SU HUMILDAD LO DICE. SIGUE RAY
Fabulous singer and writer of lovely songs. Interviews are clearly not his forte. I love his music!
Thanks for saying that. :)
This interviewer is SO bad, but Ray's so good that the interview still comes across as worth my time:P lol
I believe they were speaking of his spirit/character, not music/life. :)
Lavigne and Lamontagne. They have the same ending, I was thinking Canadian and think about how the way Avril Lavigne name was spelled. I thought he was greek, but it doesn't matter.

He looks a lot like my brother.
This is the most awkward interview I've seen lol
@paniac5 both names are French.
@zalsgirl Oh, thanks :-).
"I have grown a lot in the past 5 years. In ALOT OF WAYS" :D What does he mean by that, huh? :D :D
is this person about to kill himself?
He looks so distressed..
who would compair Ray to Micheal Jackson? what?!?!?!?

What an odd interview.
Hahaha..this interviewer is just plain awful. I think HE chose the wrong career.
Awkward & difficult to watch. 😕
