  • Lincluden Collegiate Church was my part of my location choice for my recent film The Murder that Shocked the Medieval World, about the murder of John Comyn at the hands of Robert the Bruce.
It is a fabulous location and I thought gave it a real church scene to relate the story. The church was built circa 1400 although in 1389 Archibald the Grim founded a church here beside the Cluden water and river Nith.
The original monastery was 1164. Princess Margaret’s tomb is a powerful feature in the ruin. Choosing locations to relate the stories in my video is an important part of my amateur filmmaking and bringing the stories to life. I certainly enjoyed two days here shooting the film in different locations.
This is a silent exploration through the church grounds.
