I got my first lavender and went on vacation and it didn't make it, it looks like yours but I just repotted it and I have some white roots growing so I am gonna wait and see if she comes back, it's going into winter here in Canada so I might stick her in a grow tent under light if she shows signs of growth! I just got a small bush in a pot, I wish I had big ones like yours!

Wow I'm sorry to hear that about your lavender plant. I hope it comes back to. These lavender plants are over 15 - 20 years old, but they do grow fast in the greenhouse. Yea, we're going into winter here in Vermont too. 😊😊

I think mine is as well. We are in zone 7a/7b. It's mid April. How long should I give it?

Last year I gave my lavender bush until the end of June. I'm zone 4b. I was trying to be hopeful and save it, but that didn't happen. If you don't see any new growth and you should be seeing some now since your a 7a/7b then it might be dead. Wait another few weeks to a month because it still might need to break dormancy. If you don't see any new growth at all then unfortunately it's gone. Hoping your lavender plant makes it. 🙏🙂

I have a lavender in a pot on my balcony and I never watered it because I wrongly assumed the rain could reach it and it rained so often. Then I realized the soil is dry and we also had late April frost. All the new Spring green foliage is gone now in May. Should I throw it away and plant something new?

It sounds like the lavender plant is dead and will need to be replaced. It happen to me this year too with one of my little plants. It does need some water throughout the year even in winter. Watch this playlist "Growing Lavender" as it may help answer your question better. ua-cam.com/play/PLMp7Hpc_QPMcbHbNvgbFg2b2ZyCjYxDs4.html

Do you water it? We always had lavender in our garden but then it died and we replaced it with new lavender but honestly I think our soil is now too dry in Summer due to climate change. That or depleted. Maybe enrich it with compost or plant food?
