No matter what people think or say, RPA's have come in to their own and are going be to getting even bigger and better. They work and work well. That young man has a right to wear a flight suit, they are very comfortable and functional. Sitting for long hours and doing what it takes to function and complete/support missions is amazing. I bet the boots on the ground do not care if it is an RPA ! Bring it on.

@Rich 91 That is further from the truth than people believing Bush caused 9/11. Most people would be lucky to wash planes let alone fly them. Also they wouldn't let just anyone fly an advanced UAV.

Leaving for basic in a month for RPA Maintenance, my end game is to be an RPA pilot before I retire.
This is my dream job! I wish I was in the US, I would have signed-up right away without any questions. 😊

Amazing USAF career! I always wanted to enlist in the USAF since I was 17 years old, but nobody ever recruited me successfully. I was one month away from officially entering the USNAVY last June, but a series of unfortunate events happened to me... :/

@@cycologist7069 for real🤣🤣🤣 I called up a recruiter and signed up within a week. How do you get “unsuccessfully” recruited when you want to join?? Doesn’t make sense my guy.
Couple of questions: 1- do you need a degree for this career in the AF such as an electronics degree?
2-what do you need to score on the ASVAB for this job
3- if I joined the air guard as an rpa pilot, and then decided to become an active duty rpa pilot in the Air Force, will they make me go through additional training? Such as officer training school?
Ender Wolf this job is only offered to officers so you would need a degree before you join and it doesn’t matter your degree as long as it’s a bachelors. As an officer you will take the AFOQT and not the ASVAB.
You only need to be commissioned once, for example if you move from a Guard squadron to an AD squadron and vice versa, you just fill in forms and move. However people usually only move from AD-> Guard and I kinda recommend sticking with Guard. You cannot enlist to be a pilot in any sense (yeah maybe you could enlist as a sensor operator but that's another story) to become a pilot (both RPA and normal planes) you must be commissioned from either ROTC (cadet officer training in college),OTS (cadet officer training after college)or the USAFA (Air Force version of West Point). In order to get a rated slot you generally have to rank quite high in your ROTC or USAFA class or convince the board at OTS that you deserve the slot more than a few thousand others, in addition to that you'll also need solid TBAS and AFOQT scores .Best of luck!
@@victoriahuerth5932 for this job you have to be an officer. The sensor operator is an enlisted job, for that you need an asvab score of 64 general and 54 electronics.

What jobs could I get in the civilian sector after an RPA pilot in the Military?
There’s an alphabet soup of government agencies that use civilian RPA pilots through various contractors, and they pay very well. CIA, FBI, DHS, CBP, NSA, DEA, and many more use various drones to do their job. There is also overseas contracting work that pays very well.

rpa pilots can't deal with g-force so a remote-controlled fighter jet can make super-fast turns without g-force
Still can't make crazy turns often or too severe. Still have to keep in mind the airframe's strucutral integrity

He's still in a very sophisticated alternative to a cockpit, which is best operated in wearing a flight suit.
