2:00 To me. I watched just to hate accurately...then Vivi getting punched woke me up. Then Bellamy came and I actually wanted Luffy to handle him for me. I was hooked officially with Nolans backstory
See, I know exactly why I started watching One Piece. I initially avoided it because it was 1000+ episodes at that time. Then in late 2022, I was depressed cuz I was recovering from a recent break up and I went "FUCK DEPRESSION! I'm gonna binge One Piece". 3 months later, I caught up with the anime. One Piece is also the first Manga I ever read cuz as much as I love this community, y'all mofos can't shut up when it comes to Manga spoilers.
I managed to get my mother into anime via One Piece and it was hilarious watching her say Mihawk cutting a ship in half was ridiculous while I knew about a rubber sun god jump-roping with a dragon above a floating skull island. Good times.
It’s so cool to see so many people start watching one piece and see their experience with the series. I’d also recommend the one piece movies when you reach those points even if they aren’t canon they’re so good
Film Gold especially. "The Straw Hat Pirates pull an Ocean's-Eleven-style casino heist" is such a great premise, and the movie executes on it pretty well too.
@ they kinda ruined the hype of a certain thing luffy does to get stronger I was so hyped for him to start beating the owner after doing the thing to get stronger but in my opinion the final fight felt a bit lackluster (I’m saying the thing because I don’t wanna spoil it for people who haven’t gotten to that point)
I got into the show through the live action, but I wasn't sold on it for a while. Still looked too goofy for me, wasn't a huge fan of the art style, and I definitely was not a fan of Luffy. Dude just looked like an idiot with stretchy powers for the longest time. Drum Kingdom really shifted that for me. [Don't read farther if you don't want spoilers from Drum Kingdom] That moment when Luffy reached the mountain with Sanji and Nami's limp bodies. I thought he would have to come up with some clever way to make it up. But then he just started climbing. Even when he started falling, his pain meant nothing to him as long as he could save his friends. He earned a lot of respect from me in that moment. Someone willing to do the impossible and push himself way past normal human limits for the sake of his nakama. From that moment on, I knew I'd be watching all 1000+ episodes, and I don't regret it one bit.
Something you missed. Red leg zeff has haki, hurt Luffy, then joked "maybe you woke up him from his nap" implying zeff knows him as mihawk said sup zeff. Also him coming BACK FROM REVERSE MOUNTAIN for shits is psychotic even at the point we are now in onepiece
There's Dragons in the East Blue (conveniently forgotten those millennial dragons and Apis once the crew saw other dragons on the Grand Line). Literal Dragons. Poor analogy basically. Demons, probably the better one.
I love how in the Baratea arc, both Sanji and Zoro lose their fights, but they actually win because of their character. Gin had Sanji dead to rights ,but had a change of heart because he had never been shown genuine kindness before. And Mihawak saw potential in Zoro and his dedication
I started 1P a little over a year ago just finished marineford. I still remember watching Ep1 with my friends who are big fans and I knew literally nothing about the show. When they asked me what I knew my answer was “that guys name is Luffy and he wears that hat” so the intro plays and Luffy stretches to my immediate confusion. I ask my friends wtf is Luffy and they just say “he’s a rubber man” which led to me further questioning what a rubber man was and if everyone in this crazy world is a rubber man. Now a days I too would answer that question with “he’s a rubber man”
@@Timberzy99 I was gonna warn you (in vague terms) about the Garp reveal being given away MUCH earlier in the live action than the anime/manga, but I see you're already past it anyway. @@stormaggeden The live action was what got me into the anime, I loved it and was just gonna watch the corresponding episodes to see how close they got it. Then just a few more to understand the tease at the end of the live action. And just a few more to see what season two would have to adapt. Now I’m caught up and loving One Piece more than any other story I’ve seen or read!
The moment that hooked me was Luffy walking to Arlong Park for Nami and her village. I was really happy they did it in the live action as well. But also funnily enough I started One Piece because it was so long. I wanted to have a show I could always go to when I didn't feel like thinking about what to watch.
Yes and no. I enjoyed the show at this point, but I wasn't hooked until Drum Island, and I didn't truly see the story for what it is until Enies Lobby. It's a slow build for sure, but at some point you stop yourself a look back and wonder why you ever doubted
What hooked me into the series was actually super far along, it took a lot of buildup but I watched my way through it out of obligation, just because I was told to watch the series. But what really hooked me was the moment Luffy jumped out of a barrel.
What hooked me was honestly Zoro's backstory. Backstories in One Piece are great. Also, if you look back fondly on Syrup Village, you'll be quite unique. Most people I've seen look back on it as the worst East Blue arc, and one of the worst in general.
I’m fully caught up with op and I like most started enjoying from sanjis ark but I rewatched the first intro and I can tell I didn’t fully pay attention on ep1 cause when luffy gets introduced it’s just so good and the fight he has the the pirates and how they introduce his powers is so satisfying
Im not really into reactions videos. But seeing this guy commentary about Luffys insanity and Zoros badass n stupidness. I really like these reactions!!
See I wasn't hooked at this point. Because yeah, Mohawk diced a ship in half, but he's a pirate and pirates killing pirates is pretty natural so his reasons didn't matter. But Mihawk may have wiped the fleet out but didn't take Don Krieg to the brink of death in combat, Luffy did though in a rather crazy way. Zoro vs Mihawk was awesome and the come find me when you're ready speech was grand also. But I still wasn't hooked completely. It's the episode where Nami asks for Luffy's help after stabbing herself in the arm repeatedly that got me. Luffy putting his treasure on Nami's head just adding massive symbolic meaning. With the follow up march of Luffy, Zoro, Sandi and Ussop to go defeat Arlong where Sanji has been part of thd crew what? A week maybe? And Ussop is going off all determined with a small green slingshot, but proud as heck, yeah that scene, that's what hooked me.

Nami's child hood flashback, and then... "Help me, Luffy." And then he puts the hat on her head, and if you've watched up to that point, you understand what that hat means to him, you know that him doing that to someone is basically the same thing as giving them the biggest, warmest hug you've ever seen. And then the epic walk with the boys, every one of them, even frickin' *Usopp* looking determined enough to make sashimi out of these jerks who hurt their friend for that to overpower his ever-present fear, and then Luffy busting down the wall and screaming "WHICH ONE OF YOU GUYS IS ARLONG?!" Up to that point, I was enjoying it enough to keep watching one more episode but figuring I'd drop it eventually, but THAT. That was when I knew I was on this ride to the end.
You started watching it cause you knew, deep down in your heart of hearts, pigeons cannot be trusted.
No, pigeon guys
oh look a furry one piece brethren
I'd laugh if he doesn't know the context, then just ignores the pigeon when it appears 😂😂😂
What?! 😂😂😂

@Timberzy99 it's top 2 in one piece so far imo
What about Arlong though, he might be the first villain that made people actually hates him to death

THREE MONTHS?! And I thought I was a maniac for doing it in nine (in 2021). :P
I finished wholecake in less than 2 months. Best 2 months of my life @@LPTheGas
Did it in 2, stuck in hospital... only time I wasn't watching was when I was being operated on or sleeping..😅
Yes! The World building and power scaling compared to our Straw Hats hooked me.
I have to see Zorro and Mihawk's relationship to the end.
I am loving the editing style, on top of the predictions, quickly becoming one of my favourite OP reactors
Glad to hear it!
Until this, the moment I usually saw credited with hooking people was "Luffy, Tasukete."

“Steal that boy” is wild 😂, but it is only a matter of time till an amber alert is put out for a Straw Hat the way Luffy operates 😂
For me it was the same.
I saw Mihawk when the anime was around 500 episodes, and in my head it was like "so that's why the anime needs to be so long".
Such an accurate reaction to one piece, it'll only get crazier. Keep up the good work!

Mihawk basically expanded the world for the watchers. Foes in the East Blue were good, but where they're going, there be dragons.

As we say, only two types of people exist.
Those who watch and love one piece.
Those who haven’t watched it.
There is no in between.
The moment I was hooked was when the first walk of the crew came in the arlong park arc and I was like hell yeah this is my kind of thing
