Considering moving there but I'm still worried about the flooding as the place I'm looking at is on the other (Delaware) side of the canal. Was all that area underwater in the 2021 flood?
I grew up in Yardley in the 70's and 80's. Even back then, it was fairly affluent. Many of the people were materialistic and stuck up. Lots of conspicuous consumption, and people tended to flaunt their money.
@@Philadelphiasuburbs ah okay. Lots of people make that commute from Yardley. They take a short drive to trenton or hamilton NJT stations where its like a 1hr to 1.5 hr train ride tp NY Penn Station
The problem with Yardley and other close-by PA towns is: the mass immigration of NY/NJ tax refugees ..... who moved there and immediately forget the reasons that caused them to flee; and then, 'demand' all the conveniences and their increased associated costs, and especially forgot the 'super-high' NJ/NY TAXES. As a result ... the Taxes in these destinations are beginning to escalate exponentially. This is coupled with a complementary substantial loss of the latent (former) widespread local 'civility', sense of community / 'courtesy', plus - 'active volunteerism' of former times. "Local Native Pennsylvanians" now openly discuss the burning down of the bridges across the Delaware River (from Philthydelphya to the New York border at Port Jervis) to prevent the impending substantial 'further decline' caused by the influx of these tax-refugees.

Depending on the specific property, we can check to make sure it’s not in a flood zone.
