I'm just a singer of simple songs
I'm not a real political man
I watch CNN but I'm not sure I can tell
You the difference in Iraq and Iran
But I know Jesus and I talk to God
And I remember this from when I was young
Faith, hope and love are some good things he gave us
And the greatest is love

Standing in my chiefs office, watching WTVD. When the second plane hit, he hit the alarm, and woke up the whole crew. 2 hours later, we were on a plane bound for McGuire AFB. From there, it was only a short hop to Manhattan, and hell on earth. I still cough up small black balls when I get winded, but I'd do it again in a heart beat. Doesn't seem like 20 years has passed. Hell, I'm not that old am I. Yeah, I guess I am. I hope they replay the video, just so the kids today can see what we get so upset about. They need to remember this day, and the people who we lost. Never forget December 7th, or September 11th. Days that changed the world.
God Bless! 🙏
Thank you for your never ending service to our country. ❤🤍💙

Here on September 11th 2022, the world has changed so much since this catastrophic day. So many American lives were lost. It was however a day of National Unity, I was in a classroom in the 9th grade. Among fellow Americans of every race and religious belief. Nothing mattered except our American pride. I miss the days of unity. God bless the men and women who lost their lives, and to the ones who are still protecting our freedom.

ALAN JACKSON!
I come back to this song every year since I heard it as a child. My experience with 9/11 was reading books and watching a VHS tape my mom had recorded of the news. I was born too late to experience it. I can’t imagine the pain it brings to those who did experience it. I pray for this nation, that God grant us all peace.
I too come back to this song every year. I watched when Alan first played this song on TV live. My mom and I cried for a while and my dad proclaimed we need his CD when came out. I remember being in school when it happened. A lot of us where in shocked and some of us cried because we were scared. Even though we were more then a days drive away, it felt like it was in our back yard as kids. I honestly don't think any of us felt safe for a long time. It was so weird because I lived by an airport at the time. It was so quiet (outside of trains in the distance) that the silence scared you and when air traffic resumed, we all got edgy when we heard a plane go over head. Not knowing if there was going to be another attack not. So yes. I come back to never forget.
I was in high school. Watching in horror. My dad was in the pentagon, but safe. Thank god 🙏
I come to this song every year. I had just woke up I was living in the west coast getting ready for school it was so surreal. I was panicking thinking it was ongoing seeing the pentagon and Pennslyvania. I remember when I got to school my friends and I all cried
I listen to this song every year as my personal tribute and say a prayer. So thankful Alan put in words what we were all feeling. He has got to be a great guy. I love this country and I don't want anyone causing damage. Like damage being caused by corrupt people in office. I pray that changes soon. May God Bless America.
Born in 98, was in preschool and vaguely remember the lockdown at school... Also remember being home and my mom being extremely worried. Wouldn't fully grasp these events until much later. I found this song in 8th grade and always make a point to play it when it comes up on shuffle.
18 years of service for fire department for new York.. I still have that day imprinted in my memory .. 363, brothers n sisters lost that day in first responder... I still pray for all victim of that day....
God Bless you!
God Bless. I was at a 911 console next to a dispatcher with a father and two brothers there. They survived that day.
God bless you, thank you for your service
Thank you! With love

yet another 9/11 anniversary, 2020. we still remember and still care
I remember it all like it was yesterday. I'll never think about that day without feeling that ache, or without tears. My heart has never stopped hurting for all those we lost. Especially those I called friends. May they, and all the soldiers and civilians who died in the war after that rest in peace.
A day I'll never forget, working at Conoco petroleum plant in Ponca City Oklahoma, took a break and went to the break room to get a drink and everybody was watching TV, and I saw the second plane hit we found out that Conoco was on a list to be attacked

20 years today since that horrible attack😔. It still shatters my heart to this day, so many people lost their lives on this day. R.I.P to the flight crew, passengers, everyone who didn't make it out of the twin towers, the pentagon, the fire fighters, first responders, EMTS, police, military. NONE OF YOU WILL EVER BE FORGOTTEN!!! To the families of all the victims just know your loved ones are watching over you from heaven .
I so embarrassed, I am so embarrassed I am human, they just ruin this world, all we ever care about is war and how ourselves feel, all we care about is us having fun, we never care about others, we never care about this world. War, pollution, selfishness, it's all so stupid and I hate humanity for it, I hate everyone for it I HATE YOU! I HATE ME! I HATE US
Couldn’t agree more
It was so sad about 3,000 Americans wear killed that day
Wish more people were listening to this song today! It’s just what our country needs!!

Alan Jackson is a gifted songwriter. Thank you Alan Jackson for this beautiful song. 21 years ago today something happened that none of us ever expected. At that time I was in my 4-wheel-driving-car on my way to the end of the day and heard it on the radio (with a time difference). I was still in training at the time. And I was in shock right away and almost caused another accident.... It was always my dream to fly to America one day, to see this great country and to be at the top of the WTC. That dream shattered then. Since that day I pray every year on 9/11 for the dead, their bereaved, the heroes and the soldiers. ... My name is Daniel Hertrampf, I am 41 years old and German. I live in a small village in southern Bavaria and have been a big fan of American country music and southern rock since I was young. As well as America itself.. God bless America and the rest of the world so that something terrible like this never happens again. #neverforget
I am glad you didn’t crash
Daniel, mein Vater war aus .ch und Er loved the U.S. Culture, Lifestyle. On the 9/11 he cried and we in the family were shocked and grieving. Even some few connationals of mine died at that scenario.

Thank you for those kind words! I'm glad you didn't have an accident! Please be careful. It was a horrible day for our country! I turned on my TV and thought it was an accident until I saw another plane hit the other tower! I said oh my God! Then other planes were crashing one to the Pentagon and another! What a horrible day that was! We will never forget those lives that were lost!
That's kinda gay
I was in high school at the time and it hit me that day that there were people that hated my people enough to do such a thing. That was the most shocking thing for me, innocence was stripped away concerning the outside world. America no longer felt safe and it's amazing how things have changed since then. I thank you for your support.
I was 7 years old when the attack happened. My parents for obvious reasons didn't want me to see the news footage, so they sent me to my room as they watched it in the living room. But I can remember sitting in the hallway watching it without them knowing. It's a very vivid memory, even though I was too young to really comprehend what was going on, I can still remember it like it was yesterday.
RIP to the souls lost in that horrible event
Today 19 years ago 🇺🇸
And all who lost them that day😥😥😥. We must find a way to crucify Bush et. al, for that hideous unforgivable act of war on his own people. Please God give us undisputable proof so we can convict those responsible, and soon. Only you can it Lord. 🙏🙏🙏

I was at a Sprint site in Cheyenne Wyoming. One of the guys on the job ask me if I had heard the news about the the plane hitting the WTC. A few minutes later another plane hit. We were told to leave the job site and my crew and I went to my motel room and watched everything on TV. Every emotion that I knew of , ran through me that day. We called the red cross and they did not need any blood. I called the Army recruiting office to re-up. They said I was to old. The anger in me needed a release and all I could do was cry. I WILL NEVER FORGET. Jack Marsh

One of the most moving things I have ever witnessed was an unofficial 9/11 "never forget" parade. I was just sitting at a stoplight, not really thinking about what day it was.
All these Jeeps started coming from the oncoming lane, and every one of them had an American flag and "Never Forget" banners. And you know what? All those cars waiting at that light, all those people with important things to do and important places to be - almost every one of them started honking their horns in respect and went to follow the Jeep parade. A whole intersection of cars leaving everything to honor the fallen. It bring tear to my eyes to this day.

I'd just walked home from work. My mum was hanging up baby stuff in the garden my sister was sitting at the dinning room table knitting, heavily pregnant with my niece. She said something has happened in New York, but I missed the end of the news. I walked up stairs and turned on the TV The first image. The plane hitting the second tower. I thought, What film is this...? Then it all became horrifically clear as it unfolded on the news.

I remember being in 4th grade an announcement came over the loud speaker not long after we got settled for class, for teachers in every grade to roll in their tvs and turn the news on. I remember the teacher crying and the room was dead silent. Not a peep. Other than the occasional sniffle. I can't remember but I think we were all let out early that day. I remember my mom crying and hugging me and her making calls to family members. It was just surreal. The next day though.... September 12th.... we saw a unity and pride in our nation like never seen before... we need to get back to that, to September 12th. We're all in this together. ❤
Thank you for this, I totally agree! We need days like September 12th back

I wasnt there but I was close enough to hear and see the emergency vehicles running to the Pentagon when it was hit. I was watching New York on TV when that happened. I was glad that I didn't work at the Pentagon anymore.

I remember how that day every American was united in their grief and horror. How many neighbors shared hugs and condolences, how complete strangers offered comfort and solace. I remember that day with tears but long for the unity it brought to our country
Never forget the lost souls and the survivors.🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️
Its not like that anymore unfortunatley.
Sadly, not every American. Muslims and Sikhs alike were targeted for being brown and not Christian, by fearful and angry people who didn't understand whom they thought they were angry at.
My mom was telling me the other day how after 9/11 Americans were the most untied she had ever seen them, too bad it didn't last.
Me too as hard as that was to hear
I remember being in middle school and at the time not realizing how serious the situation was.. these days I spend most of 9/11 and 4th July listening to songs like this and being proud to be a American!!

ALAN JACKSON,
Love this guy. Just a great singer and class act. Here in the Real world has been with me since day one. Where Were You is tough but great. The first plane woke me up. I thought it was a Con Ed explosion. I watched the second plane hit the tower from the corner. Rough time. Rougher for others. This song is very emotional but so heartfelt. Alan Jackson is special and underrated. Very. Underrated.
I was working and driving a support truck for a crane job when I heard about this on the radio. I called my mom and we were just in shock. The country pulled together like it did at the start of WWII. I hope we can get past the current mess.
That is EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED TO DO NOW!!! PULL TOGETHER AGAINDT THE DOMESTIC TERRORISTS WHO ARE NOW BURNING OUR LANDS, AFTER CREATING AND RELEASING A VIRUS, AND HOW MANY OTHER HORRIBLE THINGS!! THERE IS A CABAL PEOPLE AND SOMEHOW WE MUST STOP THEM. REVOLUTION. FIGHT NOT WORRY ABOUT STAYING SAFE. WE OUTNUMBER THEM 99 TO 1, NO QUESTION WE WILL WIN AND SOME WILL DIE. BUT WE MUST DO THIS NOW!!!!!
Meanwhile in 2020 sadly we haven’t moved on from the mess now it’s getting worse than ever
Alan Jackson's greatest work in my opinion. The 20th anniversary of 9/11 is less than 6 months away...I hope radio stations across the country play this song and Daryl Worley's "Have You Forgotten?" again and again. We lost two friends on American 77. RIP Jennifer Lewis and Ken Lewis, and my next door neighbor who worked in the Pentagon. No matter how many years go by, the pain of your loss will never end. As I held my infant son and stood on my deck looking at the smoke from the Pentagon rising against the cloudless blue sky, I will NEVER forget the absolute paralyzing fear of just how dangerous living here in the shadow of the nation's capital can be. For those of us born and raised here, it is something you've always known..but up until that day, didn't KNOW. We always knew that in the event of a nuclear war, we would be the first to go..in the initial crater. We his it in denial by routinely practicing the duck and cover drills(like being under a piece of furniture would protect us from a nuclear bomb...lol). But THIS attack...and the ones that followed in October 2001 and 2002(anthrax, Beltway sniper) would remind us of that vulnerability, long buried but never really forgotten. I remember not being able to make phone calls for days. Trying to reassure our 6 year old daughter that the aircraft we could hear flying above us was not the bad guys coming to crash into our house, but the military...here to protect us. The surreal scene of battle positions lining the Potomac. I remember the heartbreaking sight of families walking around New York in shock looking for family members that would never be found. None of us had any idea of the bond we would share forever. The bond of grief. I remember the people lined up to donate blood for the massive number of injured....that would never walk from the rubble. In the days and weeks that followed, a resolve and unity seemed to blanket the country. A unity we haven't seen since then. We all were reminded that none of us is promised tomorrow. Just love one another....put aside our differences and concentrate on what we have in common. One love.

JUST HAD MY BABY BOY, TURNED ON THE NEWS AND COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT WAS GOING ON.
I was at home, the day before we celebrated my mother's birthday. My brother woke me up and told me to come quick. Shoe watching TV I thought at first that it was a bad reality show. It sank in when the Pentagon was hit. I called my uncle because he and his wife had offices there. But thank God they were at a meeting and called later. I just day there and cried for the souls lost
Too many forgot, when how we came together in one mind and one heart.
Thank you, this song means so much to me. The pure patriotism all Americans felt that day is sorely needed right now. I wish it did not require such a sacrifice to get it.
“Here he is once again to capitalize on people’s emotions!”
I just watched that episode and knew people would comment this 😂
I'm Spaniard, but your music, dear Alan, calms me down and give me faith and hope. Thank you and my bests from Málaga, Spain.
👏🏻👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾
mi compañera del curro es Malagueña. Me esta enseñando como hablar el castellano como vosotros. I am mexican american and i love your country especially people from southern Spain. Warm and guay people! Much better than the northen people but don't tell em i said that. LOL
es una pena que no vaya a españa a hacer conciertos, Alan es el musico mas real que conozco.
I am so glad and amazed that you hear this music! God bless you and your family!
Love you!
Alan Jackson. One of the BEST song writers/singers of ALL TIME. His songs touch like no other. GOD BLESS AMERICA 🇺🇸. Good conquers evil every time. Love you all
Love you back!
uhhhh, not really
Amen
Every year, on the anniversary of that fateful day, I listen and share this song. I remember seeing on the news the aftermath of the attacks and how they shaked our country. There's a small part of me that missed that time... not the pain we had to endure, but because there was no political divide. On that horrible day, we were one nation united... and I wish we could be once more.
I was born in 2005 but this song always makes me tear up. It is so beautiful. RIP to all those lost on 9/11🕊
Same, we will never truly understand what happened I remember my mom and dad rushing home to my siblings
Be glad you went here for it. It was horrible
I seen it at 5 years old, I'm glad you didn't see it in real time.. but I'm sad you didn't get to see how United we were following the attacks
Born in France, I grew up in the US from 2001 to 2004.. This horrific day made my heart American forever.. 🙏🏼🇺🇲❤️

ALAN JACKSON!
This Song really touches my heart 😭😭😭😭
And in just 100 days we’ll be at the 20th anniversary of the attacks
"Where were you when.. when.. just where were you?"
Pain never changes. My cousin needs to stop beating me up.
Rip to the fallen ones. Respect
Looks like a lot of people revisited this song today, great to see. Never forget
Yes especially with everything that's going on right now
Yeah. I come to this song now everyday now never forgetting about the loved ones that we lost
I’m here for a ladder to heaven
This song hits hard and I’m not from America… innocent people going about there work day…world is a cruel place cause of world leaders…hope everyone that comes across the post has a healthy and blessed life… we’re only here once love and peace ✌️
I'm not much of a country music fan or a hardcore patriot, but this song still hurts me, so many innocent lives lost. I remember growing up hearing this ( I was 6 or 7 when this song came out,) and my mom always listened to the local country station. I was a bit too young to understand it, but growing up, I really can't help but cry.
Let's all agree Alan Jackson is amazing
agree he is the king of country ;D
Amen

@@rhondaboncutter5812 yeah like the dozens of schools that have been shot up, hospitals that have been bombed in the middle east, countless proxy wars... americans just dont like the taste of their own medicine

ALAN JACKSON,
I will never forget this day as I sat at my desk and heard the announcement come over the PA system. One of the saddest days in my life

ALAN JACKSON!
This is just one time my world stopped turning the other was the day we lost our son in 2019 .
I was in labor with our first child. He was born on the 12th and it scared me what kind of world I was bringing him into. I still do, but the world would be a less kind place without my son in it.
My son was born 9/11...a few hours prior...I'll never forget my husband waking me up and turning on the tv only for me to see the mess that was NY...then Washington...so scary...
When Alan Jackson sings, the whole world stops to listen! Love you AJ!
This song gives me the chills. It's so beautiful❤ God bless all those who lost their loved ones. Tomorrow is the 20th year anniversary. Stay strong America
Will be the 21st in 10 days. Never forget
Will never forget it. I was a 16year old girl crying her heart out while translating word-for-word what cnn was broadcasting to my grandmother, a woman that survived WW2 and could not believe what was happening. That day changed everyones lives forever.
Grandma, vamos vamos. Aeropuerta. Ayuda me. Grandma farted
A beautiful song, so moving.
Remembering 19 years ago, today. Praying for the family of those lost that day.
Where were you, when they built the ladder to heaven..
Where were you...when they ran out of stuff to build the ladder to heaven
Great music that carries profound meaning and a call for democratic humanism. Thank you Alan for reviving our spirits of connectedness and humility. Lets continue being each other's keeper. Indeed, on that day I was teaching a class in Kentucky. I remember that vividly.
I was at Walmart in Joplin Missouri when I was there. Then I cried.
Never forget!!!God bless America!!!🙏❤🇺🇸
thanks for your love and support, I’d like to give you an opportunity for you to have a private conversation with me 🌹
G0D BLESS AMERICA AGAIN
Thank you Alan Jackson
