      I tell you, Monk may have quirks, but that man was creeping me out from the instant he insisted that Gertrude should be called ‘Trudy’ even though she expressed clearly that she preferred Gertrude!
      People who completely dismiss other people’s clear feelings bother me far more than people with OCD and other quirks like Monk has! 😞

    One of the most touching episodes, but possibly the single stupidest crime premise in the entire series. Police can tell how old paper and ink are to the nearest decade. Even if the "Adrian" wasn't a detective, he would've been questioned and told the cops that he was also with a Trudy a long time ago, and new "Trudy" when questioned would've told the cops that she never calls herself that.

      Very good point. Then I remembered that this show is old. And alot of technology maybe wasn't discovered or was just breaking through.

    • @raziel710
      @raziel710 Рік тому +17

      @@Ericwvb2 Realistically they would suspect foul play the moment they saw the note. A 25 year old hand written note on regular paper that has been folded up in a box in a basement for that much time is going to be obviously weathered. Not to mention it wouldn't be in "her handwriting" unless she was frozen in time for those 25 years, people change drastically over 25 years including how they write. It all comes down to its a TV show and they need to ignore some realism to make the story more interesting.

    • @jameshill2450
      @jameshill2450 Рік тому +4

    Monk's confusion at someone having two dogs 25 years apart with the same name is particularly funny to me. As a kid we got a cat from the local Humane Society nearly 35 years ago and named him; that cat died 15 years later. 6 years ago I went on the website for that same local Humane Society (still living in the same area), and found a cat up for adoption with the same name! Totally forgot about this scene until seeing it again just now, hadn't seen it since adopting my cat.
