This is crazy. My family has been doing this for 5-6 years on a small 300 acre farm in the city. They farm chicken and do rotational grazing and just letting the land heal. And those eggs are just different.
I am watching this while canning locally grown apples into apple sauce for my grandchildren. Food is more important than just about anything. Definitely more important than the drugs
What?! This is SO amazing! People are waking up to the reality that real health for all starts at the soil. What an incredibly exciting season we're in. Let's prove to the big chem corps that nature's way is so much better!
Trump dismantles the corrupt Department of Agriculture? We export food to the whole world beforehand. Then GMO foods came and nobody will eat them but us. Nobody wants out GMO crops.
Businesses can't donate because cold food has stay cold and hot food needs to stay hot. We are in an age now that we can make that happen. I understand the repercussions of what could happen if they don't. But my thing is, all these corporations that are pushing this ultra-processed food with all these chemicals in them that are making Americans sick should also fall under that law. They should be held accountable for how sick the American people are from eating their food..They know they're creating the sicknesses. They're doing it intentionally for a profit.. which to me makes it even worse..Since they get subsidies from the government on our dime they should be held to an even higher standard.
This us a truly wonderful series, and the aspect of being stewards of the earth and partnerships, along with food waste management, it all is such an inspiring concept that i cant help but feel is contagious.
Peter, you need to do a documentary on their work at Luck ranch. You need to document the story & the work, the steps & the result from the beginning! Please do this!
This works on very small plots, too: I own 1.8 acres of pasture and rotate around 4 permanent paddocks with just two Black Angus steers, moving them into a paddock when the grass is a foot tall and letting them stay about a week until they have grazed off the top 6". (Studies show most of the nutrients in forage are in the top 6" and mature plants are the LAST things cows like to eat, and the least nutritious, too!) Last year my two steers gained 420 pounds (on the hoof), which is about 105 lbs of meat per acre! I always mow my pasture once in June so the grass doesn't get out of control by using a large mulching lawnmower; that mulch protects the pasture from the hot sun in July and August, which quickly dries out the plants if bare ground is exposed! (I NEVER graze to the point where any dirt is showing!!) I grain my cows every day with 1 lb of 4-way to start, increasing it to 1.5 lbs per day half way through the season. Although these were large steers (1,230 lbs each in the beginning) the daily grain ration produced choice beef in one and nearly prime beef in the other, a noticeable upgrade from hay-fed steers! (Note: I graze from May until October.)
Thanks for your description of what you are doing. I have about the same pasture amount. I would probably rent a couple of steers from my neighbor for my system. All the best!
This has inspired me to want more knowledge of this process . I genuinely have always wanted to be a farmer , I love to even be on a more eco-friendly farmer just as they have done . The big question is money, land, and time. Which I don't much of any of them . Tlbut such an inspiration to me and I would love to be a part of this moto of farming and Ranching .
Have a look at Greg Judy’s channel as he’s talked about how to get into regenerative grazing with owning land. Greg is wonderfully generous with his time.
Great, I know you don"t have extra time. Please take the time for ADA John Kempf, and Allen Savory. Both are extremely knowledgeable to speedup regenerative ag.
Watching this by chance from Germany gives me hope that not all is lost in the USA. The level of ignorance, hostility towards science and ignorance in large parts of the US population makes me pessimistic about the future and scares us even here in Europe. It's great that there are people like Tina and Orion who are trying to make the world a better place instead of following , like the majority in agricultural regions of the USA, with blinders on in a medieval belief in authority a false orange guru.
Something really opened our eyes a few years ago. ;). Now suburban gardens and chickens are becoming more popular. About 1/2 the country woke up so we’re not dead yet!
Great presentation that is so inspiring to see communities coming together and building regenerative future Kudos to you! 🎉❤ Also catching waste streams is so key to our world of ready to serve food. Sending it back into food production is so worth it to keep food production coming back. Electric cars are they sustainable in production? If not we’re creating another problem we’re trying to correct here in America. What about your worldview. Regenerative lifestyle! Maybe go further up the line of the electric car too? The farmers of America were dubbed because of the money it was suppose to put in their pockets?? I think we should really weigh the matter going farther up the line of regenerative action, to make sure the benefits are a good investment for the longevity of the vision you have been building so well. Trust the process***Its God’s economy. It’s always been here we’re just discovering new ways to manifest His creation. 🦋🕊️
Such a sad commentary on life in America that the costs of health insurance figures so dramatically in a young couple's finances. This is not even a consideration in most of the industrialized world, but here in the US we have this crushing #MedicalBankruptcyForAll healthcare system. This video would have been allot better if it included video and pictures of their operation as b-roll as the interview progressed.
Those countries are having crisis in the health care, mental health systems. Long waiting times for appointments, indifferent staff, and the UK seems to be having a mental health crisis, resulting in a shocking number taking their own lives in rivers. At present missing women have been found in rivers, and reported in the US news frequently recently. I've been told that the number of men is triple that, yet the US news is not reporting on that. The US also sends money to other countries putting us into 33 trillion dollars in debt instead of using funds within our budget to help our own citizens, while other countries seem to look out for the welfare of their people rather than spending money they have to borrow. Especially since most Boomers have passed, are retiring, or nearing retirement. Which was a huge base of taxpayers. Huge waste.
Correct. We need to stop funding the healthcare of the rest of the world. 80 to 95+% of the medical innovation in a given year comes from the US. They never say thank you. Time to find ways to make the rest of the world pay their fair share instead of waiting for patents to expire to the detriment of their citizens. Internally we need to end certificate of need for hospitals, break the insurance cartel by allowing interstate competition, increase the number of medical schools to help break the AMA, expand telemedicine, reduce regulations on NPs and similar opening offices or doing procedures. Incentivize more cash only surgery centers. That's just a start.
what's incredibly ironic or sad, is that this couple is smart on one side of the coin, but then so dumb on the other side as to think their electric car is somehow better for the environment - as they obviously haven't seen the studies showing electric cars are no better for the environment than a petroleum-powered vehicle.
It should be noted that contrary to popular belief, if you are burning fossil fuels cleanly ( CO2 + H2O), you are helping photosynthesizing plants all around you, especially in arid conditions!
Be more specific. Give the name of the interview. State the name of the interviewer or youtube channel. Vague posting is useless. Based on what I see about him on UA-cam, he's likely not concerned about CO2. That's not going to be the general viewpoint of many of those featured in this talks. Whatever motivates people to adopt these farming practices is good in my mind.
Have you watched their documentary they made on adaptive grazing, and how it sequesters carbon into the soil and removes it from the atmosphere? All this and is a solution for the CAFO lots. We aren’t all vegan. Most of us eat meat.
Wow smart and beautiful. I don’t totally agree with the Tesla. If India and china were on board with us then it would be more plausible. But if the Tesla did actually create positive cash flow in lieu of a diesel truck great.
Don’t worry, that’s not going to be a problem they’ll have. There was sufficient, dioxide to grow, abundant amounts of plants long before humans start, releasing it by burning fossil fuels.
I love watching the videos of die hard Republicans reluctantly try these techniques and slowly get won over by the incredible results. Most rewarding is seeing people who could barely hold onto their farms become profitable and more independent!
Can we please stop calling the last century aberration a "conventional" farm? The agro industrial way of food production is a blip on the radar of time and hopefully is on its way out. The regenerative way of "doing agriculture" is the millenia long, tried and true. We are not "new", we are going back to the roots of what worked.

We're in it for the long haul! When we can make farmers lives better and their farms more profitable while healing the land, it's a win-win-win!
It's only a matter of time before big agri starts to fight back. What then?
Trump dismantles the corrupt Department of Agriculture?
We export food to the whole world beforehand.

@@howardchambers9679So true.
