Was going to say the same thing and with the Nally being a budget scythe with some fun functionality you can have all 2 handed swaps for raiding! No off hands, boys!
I've been told shadow can replace Bofa for the most part. Without shadow mage is much weaker but I still imagine t-bow being the biggest item due to mage being less important in the game
This is a great video for so many people. While I don’t need this advice anymore, I would be so lost as a “newer” player with a 2 bill bank and unsure which mega rare to choose. Having all 3 now, I can firmly say the scythe is the coolest out of them all. I also don’t worry about the cost of the swipes anymore but I know that’s a major factor in it. Tbow was my first mega rare and I also did a tbow rebuild on it which was a ton of fun. I also think shadow is really cool and it’s only super useful to rebuild with it if you’re cranking out ToA. It’s damn fun to use in the raid
the fact that i spent all day yesterday thinking about what to buy and ended on the shadow, because it let me keep gear for melee and range, just for this to be uploaded, glad to see it.
Let’s be honest if you’re unsure on what megarare to buy and where to use it to get further upgrades you probably aren’t super deep into endgame pvm content, if your aim is to get better at pvm get a shadow bofa fang and fill out those combat styles the best you can and you can do any content or grind toa increasing your invos gradually to get better at the game, if your sole purpose is to invest in something to make as much gp as possible to recoup your bank after selling everything off your best bet is buying bis nex setup (id recommend zcb over tbow as that will save you money for minimum gear other places for when you get burnt out at nex) and trust me sit at nex for as long as you can or atleast until you make another 1-1.5b( not hard) nex is terribly boring and the easiest bossing you can do in masses or minimasses but you will without a doubt make that money back 3 weeks of hardcore nex grinding made me just shy of 3b and I was able to upgrade almost everything to bis for the combat styles. You will hate your life you will despise nex you will want to quit the game but you will make that gp back quickly
Glad I decided to go with Shadow/scythe/bowfa cause if I snipe a tbow in a solo chambers I’m chillin 😂 great video been waiting for this for a while because I’ve been so indecisive
Great guide but imo, if you can afford to buy a shadow and keep your bofa+crystal that's the best option, bofa is just so good across the game whil the gap between trident/sang and the shadow is way bigger! Melee gear is fine and cheap so yep scythe last one
I went for Shadow rebuild yesterday. I've been avoiding using magic for everything when possible (I did a okay number of Muspah with ranged only!) so I felt like it was time to invest in magic. Plus I have a Bowfa so it just kinda made sense. RSN LIGHT FORTE
I think I'd go Twisted Bow so I could start focusing on Inferno, but tbh I'm still a pvm noob so i'd really just be bank standing in varrock pretending to be cool with my bow :p RSN Facepants
Honestly most people do their first inferno with Bowfa these days. I did, and it wasn't too bad. But twisted bow definitely is noticeable on Jads and Zuk, but maybe only saves seconds
that’s good to know. I’m still a few months away from attempting it and a bowfa is actually realistic for my current bank value, unlike any of the mega rares
@@BenderIsGreat3464 oh I have zero expectations of clearing it in a week lol. I've watched enough content to know how hard it is. appreciate the responses though
saeldor dead content. bowfa is okay, but besides high invos, budget cms and inferno, i'd rather have masori and crossbow + pipe since it's similar dps for less money, and has use at nex.
@@colonian83 those two things would be why you would want them basically, its in a gap of pre-bis, Salad blade has its place because you can leap frog over things, in which case Id say get a noxx and upgrade it to soulreaper eventually. my point was just that it has a place in a mega rebuild and shouldn't be overlooked entirely. Skip it if you want basically. (salad blade is over priced atm)
i got a tbow first didn't use it much then sold it for a scyth and i do tob and alot of pvm with it more then i thought and its made me more plus a bofa its not bad
Shadow + full ancestral is pretty much the same price as the other two mega rares and you really shouldnt use shadow without it. You really should get shadow first along side a Bowfa, this will open you up to the most amount of content and money makers. Then id get Scythe next and Tbow as your last mega rare. While everyone always dreams of having a tbow, its uses are much more limited as the monster you are fighting has to have a high magic defense level for it to be significantly better than the bowfa.
I have 1.2b in cash saved right now, so this video is super relevant for me! I'm still super torn between Shadow and Tbow though. I do a ton of slayer bossing and already have fortified Masori so I've been leaning towards the Tbow.
shadow feels the most overpowered out of the 3 but the problem is you need bis in other slots. if i were you id sell masori, get bowfa crystal and shadow + bis. even places where magic is supposed to be terrible (kq, sarachnis, all 4 gwd minus nex, blue zulrah), shadow still slaps.
you dont have to commit to tob to rebuild- cerb, araxxor, duke, vardorvis, thermy all good places to camp although id leave behind 20m cash stack for supplies in case of dry streak.
Hoping to get a solo shadow drop, for it to be my first mega, but I get the money first might go to for the twisted bow first, learning a new raid and the content that you can do with it seems really fun. RSN Zaavi zc
I have a shadow and have been holding off on getting tbow because I have bowfa and crystal but I don't really see a mage equivalent of bowfa+crystal. Am I being logical?
Got a tbow in my name in 2017, started using it until I quit. TOA came out and by this time I had quit/liquidated my bank and rebuilt 2 times. I was around 200m total bank value. I got a solo shadow, used that at TOA for a while. When DT2 came out and I was done with the Whisperer, I sold it and bought scythe (around 550m at the time) and torva to grind Duke. The price kept rising and rising so I kept it and am now grinding Araxxor with it and full inquisitor. Bank is now around 3b.
you really don't need much if you're doing a scythe rebuild for tob. bgs, blowpipe and seas. wdr has the scythe rebuild setup, i personally feel like anguish can be ditched and swamp can be downgraded. about 30m worth of gear on top of the scythe which isn't bad.
I am debating between TBOW and Shadow. Funny enough the top 2 recommended. I love Range but Shadow fits my current content enjoyment more. I most likely will get Shadow first when I buy one. RSN: TwitchLyfe

mega weapons seem so out of my reach. I play solo and am not that great so raids are pretty much out of the question. That leaves me with farming bosses for very rare drops that will still only get me a fraction of the way there lol.
