9.80ct Burmese (Mogok) Ruby Rough

This ruby crystal was sourced from Mogok in Burma, the traditional home to the worlds finest rubies. This piece has an good shape for cutting and should yield a massive 5ct+ stone if cut as a pear shaped cabochon. Lovely Ruby rough ! good quality Ruby stone from last year are being hard to get, my friend have seen one ( 2ct stone ) in the jewellery shop six months ago, and went back to the shop to buy, and the stone price have increase 40%，and he hand on for 2 days, end up he have decided to buy, he went back to the shop again to buy, but the stone have " sold " 。

Will you have any more rough stones for sale? I went to your website and everything is sold out hehe kudos to you :) I was also wondering are there any websites you recommend for buying rough? I already bought a little bit of sapphires from you :D I am just a hobbyist I would simply ruin such a beautiful gem, maybe someday once I get better and feel more comfortable working with better materials I will make the jump to rubies.

Haha I actually have the stones in front of me as I write this. That is interesting that the AUD and CAD are the same, I thought we would be below the Canadian dollar haha! These are definitely good little practice sapphires, what did you have in mind for them?

Exactly that, to practice on them! Very cool that you have them infront of you hehe I'm super stoked to see them, I watched all your videos I love that you have such high business etiquette, I was eyeing out those garnet roughs too, will most likely get some once I am done with these little sapphires.
As for the cuts I will most likely go with some geocuts to keep as much material as possible and if some turn out decent, I also have a forge and do some smithing so I might try to fix one of them to a silver ring or something like that, I mostly make knives though, so this will be a new experience :D

Yeah, geo cuts are nice and think they are great for more modern style jewellery.
