A dance that requires excellent dancers' technique and stamina. All this of course through long and well programmed practice. Success

OMG This is simply wonderful
As thrilling as this is, it doesn’t convey the heart of Esplanade. More akin to one of another of Mr. Taylor’s masterpieces, the frightening Last Look, rather than the climax of the lyrical melancholy of Esplanade. Do yourself a favor and seek out the old videos from the Dance in America version with the incomparable Carolyn Adams as the woman in pink.
I think it has a lot to do with the way it's filmed. All quick cuts that don't allow you to truly experience the sweep of the piece. This is magnificently technically accomplished, but I too miss the hell-bent abandon of many of the other live & taped iterations of this piece I've seen. So many of these dancers are new to the company. I have no question they'll grow into it...

Ebullient. I think I saw a very early version of this in Boston in the late 1970s/early 80s. I still remember being transported by it. Music credits I can find say 'violin concerti by Bach,' but does anyone know which ones? (I thought they might be with the other credits, but they don't seem to be.)

I know the D minor, E and I think A are in there. Don’t know whether minor or major but they are easily looked up on UA-cam.
