  • I start my journey in Opuwo and stop at Epupa Falls, which I reach after almost 200 kilometers. The view from the viewpoint above the village is magnificent, a stop that is truly worth it. Although I'm visiting the falls after months of dry season, the Kunene River carries enough water to be able to admire them in their full glory.
From the village of Epupa I now take the D3700, a nice gravel road that always offers fantastic views of the Kunene River. I drive in an easterly direction. After 35 kilometers I reach Camp Cornie, where I will spend the next two nights.
A fantastic camp! There are three pitches, I choose No. 3, furthest away from the main building and equipped with an outdoor shower and an outdoor toilet. There is also a fireplace with free firewood. Jan, the manager, greets me warmly, shows me everything and sells me a barbecue package. I enjoy the atmosphere here at the river, the variety of birds and this incomparable feeling of absolute freedom and independence. The fact that I have to change a tire doesn't change my good mood; the rubber on the left rear has paid tribute to the slopes and passes of the last few days.

Your movie is well executed though if I may say very long for folks to watch. Living the dream mate.

I really like your campsite at the Kunene River. May I ask you how much it is?

Thanks again for your feedback - I am not sure, but I think I've paid N$ 200 per night. You can check the rates here on the website of Camp Cornie: campcornie.com/ Best regards, Henning
